Hey Chris…

Speaking of the book, are you going to tell the real story about your time under Klark?

We want to hear about the lies, the theft of $850,000 of our money, the way she defended Winston, the way she defended Field and why she let you abuse the tax payer with excessive and unnecessary travel expenses.

You might also like to explain why she made so many changes without seeking a mandate, doing away with the Privy Council, doing away with Knights and Dames being just two of them.

But most of all I would love to know how you can justify being part of the most corrupt government in our nations history.

NZ is a backwater. Helen is now focused on Global responsibilities. I think she was homesick for a while, but she seems to have got over that. But Mallard is a loose canon. He is too unstable to be a Leader so he just bangs around making a nuisance of himself. In 4 years time when Labour might have a serious shot at Government, Mallard will be starting to show his age and he will feel it. Trouble is he has no life outside politics, his personality stands in the way, and yet there is a very sensible side to him, it is a pity he has not developed that further. Carter could have ended his career as a standard bearer for gays in politics. But now he is just a bitchy old queen and gays do understand that type well.

Trevor has no real interest in leadership (any form).

His prime exercise in life is living off his paycheck and perks, cycling, and looking after what is between his legs.
Good on him as he has all the opportunities. What a life.

He could never be considered a leader – he too much of a real jerk.

TVB, that is one of Labour’s biggest problems. Carter was stating the obvious when he said Goff probably couldn’t lead Labour to victory next year – but any replacement could be as easily condemned with the same “honesty”.

Carter circulated what many people are thinking, but he has no better alternative to promote, so his actions have been destabilising and a setback for Labour’s recovery. If he had any political nous he would see that and stop loosening the wheel nuts, but it appears that all his nous is smothered by his self interest.

A leader in trouble has these sorts of problems. Look back at Bill English over Maurice Williamson. Beneath the surface there will be plenty of grumbles. Labour’s problem is there is no clear alternative that would satisfy all the factions. Cunliffe seems to be the only one on offer but his obvious arrogance makes him a hard choice.
