Should help in the polls

November 18th, 2010 at 4:51 pm by David Farrar

NZPA report at NBR:

Prime Minister John Key was mobbed in Porirua today as he campaigned for National in the Mana by-election.

A group of about 10 supporters of independent unionist candidate Matt McCarten crowded around Mr Key when he arrived at North City Plaza, and they were joined by Labour Party activists backing Kris Faafoi.

Mr Key couldn’t hear the people he was trying to talk to over screams and chants, and one determined woman activist repeatedly got in his face as he tried to meet voters.

Excellent. I can’t wait to see the news tonight. Nothing gets more votes than a group of idiots screaming at the PM.

Yep, even if you’re trailer trash, you still can still verbally abuse our PM with impunity. That would soon change under a Marxist McCarten government. For safety and re-education purposes, of course.

The activist, named elsewhere as Rima Taraia, is a Unite union organiser. She is probably taking a day’s leave so she can spend it bullying people in Porirua.

But she has a sensitive side:

“Not long before the opening, McCarten noticed one of the UNITE staff – his first recruit, Rima Taraia – just standing and looking at the bright new premises. This staunch, working-class woman had been with him at the very beginning, when the organisation ran on sweat, hope and aroha – and not much else. As she stood there, quietly taking in what she and her comrades had built, a single tear welled up, and rolled slowly down her cheek.”

Scumsucker – ‘Voting should be dependant upon owning real estate.’

Back to 19th century and earlier, and the days of ‘rotten boroughs’, this was the case. It was not that long ago that if an English court exhausted a jury panel, the clerk went outside the courthouse and demanded that passers by go in to be jury candidates. However he had to ensure they owned (or lived in) a house with at least 6 windows.

Apparently the EPMU has flooded Porirua and Mana with PAID union organisers and staff to campaign for Kris (I remember when) Fa’afoi.

Of course, this means that National, Green and ACT union members are paying unions dues to support the Labour party candidate irrespective of their wishes, this is corrupt.

It also raises the interesting point as to why these PAID union staff are not counted as a cost of the campaign, once again the left abuse the rules around electioneering and once again we have an example of Labour party corruption at work.

For some time I have been pushing the idea that only the retired and tax payers should have the right to vote.

Anybody on the dole for longer than three months and anybody on the DPB has no right to say how this country is run given that they are not contributing.

I have no problem with a hard working guy voting for Labour as long as he is paying his taxes, what I cannot abide is scum like Pollywog and Maggie who steal from the tax payer and still get a say in how things are run.

We need to change the law, if we can ban criminals from voting then we can ban benefit bludgers.

Perhaps mudwatcher your predictions will be more successful if you saw the reality rather than what you hope to see.

Liarbore will win (it would be like Liarbore winning in Remuera if they didn’t), but the point will be: the reduction or otherwise in the size of the Liarbore majority. I’m quite looking forward to seeing what the 17 make of that, inside the Caucus.

Of course poor Phil won’t be gone until he really loses big time, in the next national election. He’ll be gone then and Liarbore will be led by Silent-T. This is all so obvious I can’t even call it a prediction myself, it’s as obvious as reading a newspaper.

However mudsligner I expect you probably have a quite different prediction and I’m looking forward to seeing who’s right, both times.
