Congrats Rodney and Louise

Getting married and having a family puts politics in perspective I reckon. Congrats to a great couple.

This is a non-political thread, so any comments should be in that vein.

Good child-bearing hips there I see.

The pitter patter of little ACTors or ACTress’s a possibility perhaps.

    Well done Rodder’s. :)

Does this mean they had sex BEFORE getting married?, no wonder the country is going to hell in a hand basket.

Lucia and other God botherers, where are you? you need to arrange the striking down of these ,these,… these humans?

Chur Rodney! 21 years younger…and knocked up already….good on yer!

Pauleastbay, he’s making an honest woman of her. Human nature suggests these things are going to happen…but this God “botherer” won’t lose any sleep over it, she & Rodders have to answer for their actions themselves at the end of the day.

Now, off to a real news post….

But… but… but… they had the ceremony on a beach!! And I bet he didn’t pay one damned cent to the local iwi for it. A disgraceful act of provocation!! Surely there should have been a per-head admission charge, plus a flat fee to cover the disturbance of any sand, and if they actually enjoyed themselves well that’s extra, of course…

    [Congratulations to the happy couple]

It’s nice to see such happiness. Long may it last and let’s hope, one day, Rodney gets the respect he deserves for the very good work he has done while in Parliament. It makes me cross when the media portray him so insultingly. We need more intelligent, hardworking MPs like him.
And of course he is the father of modern Auckland. No credit there either from our asinine media.

C’mon, Rodney Jekyll-Hide’s a smart operator. He won’t let any good opportunity like a marriage pass without raising the interest of the celebrity-focused MSM.

Good luck to them both. But is the lovely bride short, or was Rodney on a box for the picture?

Dang! I’ve been an ACT voter (not an active member) for the last 4 elections and if the ACT party members have got good looking women like Louise, then I think I should become active or get involved in the ACT party’s fund raising & other activities. Anyway, congratulate Rodney, here is one of my classic disco favorite song from the 80s called January-December (Calendar): Boney M-Calendar Song. I was @ primary school when it first came out. On the calendar, your wedding is a December. I don’t do disco myself but I’m sure I’m gonna beat you (Rodney) on the dance floor, since I’m a funk/hiphop dancer.

Congratulations to the happy couple – wishing you a long and “fruitful” future – off to a good start I see :)

@joana: a common snide comment from women (usually older ones) who see a middle aged man taking a much younger wife. Like many marriages it often doesn’t work out. But it often does, and my wife of nearly 7 years and I are blissfully happy, having got together nearly 10 years ago. And she’s (shock, horror!) 25 years younger than me. So take your snide comment (of which we had plenty in our early years) and put it somewhere……….. this thread is not the place for that you uncharitable *** (just 3 letters – bovine derivative)

    Of course you are.
I don’t want to hijack this thread which has been, with one exception, good natured and positive.
But you need to know, Joana, that much of the feedback we had was very positive.

From those who admired (yes) my honesty for not staying in a failed relationship because of the financial and social cost of leaving, from those, both men AND women who were in failed relationships but lacked the courage to leave, from those who gained courage from our situation and finally decided to leave. And then there were the bitter and twisted – almost without exception middle-aged women – I suspect who had partners who decided to stay for the reasons I’ve mentioned, who were vitrioloc in their reaction. To her everlasting credit my ex-wife, who I continue to respect enormously, rose above all that, conducted herself with dignity and her and her new partner we now count among our friends.

So revel in your bitterness, Joana.

The rest of us are moving on.
    Congratulations to the happy couple!
