I haven’t been over to Whale for over a year. Having rated comments is slightly annoying, kinda tips the balance of the argument somewhat.
No one, should EVER have endure serious threats of violence made against them for just executing their elected duties. No matter what their politics are. And for such a…strange issue? The arming of the police seemed to be off the boil I had thought.
Hopefully this is just a horrible joke, and I hope that it is a joke that seriously backfires on those who delivered it.
Note that the poster is issued by the People not Profit “Collective”. Anyone describing themselves as a member of a collective is probably not quite right in the head anyway. The authors are likely to be the remnants of the 60′s & 70′s student activists who thought that hyperbole & shock was a valid way to influence politicians.
Only people like you do that kind of thing RRM. Progressives are amoral as their political beliefs require them to be. That amorality allows them to do anything at any time. If you believe that to progress leftism you need to make a poster showing a woman shot in the head you do it. Without a qualm or a shred of conscience. You have no moral scruples. It is the way of the left. Your attempts to portray Palin’s map markers as equal to this poster are another example of your moral bankruptcy. You will do anything. You have no moral restraints.
New Zealand is filled with babies, who are voters. What a fucking joke this country is; with today’s success resting on the hard work and sacrifice of previous generations – and the emasculation of real men and women. I thought maybe a term of National would help fix things, but I was naive to think that our ingrained cultural immaturity could change so quickly. I have considered lately investing is Australia in case we head down the route of a banana republic in 20 years. I think this weekend I decided that I definitely will. As for the Collins haters – bloody children who’s folly is indulged by the immaturity of a self-conscious and weak middle classes of NZ.
I’d fight on the barricades against the routine arming of police. It’s an issue I feel incredibly strongly about.
These people, however, are the lowest of the low. Just go away you immature little numpties, we don’t need your sort campaigning on this and providing ammunition (no pun intended) for people to claim that everyone on the same same side of the issue is a nasty, vindictive, brainless, strategy-less moron like yourselves. This isn’t “making a statement” and “speaking truth to power”, it’s showing yourselves up as impotent bell ends.
As Jim says, you belong with The National Front, about whom I’m sure you feel smugly superior but with whom you share a moral equivalence.
The same left who blame Sarah Palin for the shootings of an unstable young man, because the rhetoric “approves of shootings”, which it does not.
The same left who right now say that John Key supports dictatorship because he isn’t supporting Mubarak standing down. Not that you could have got Helen Clark to call for any dictatorships to stand down.
The same left who wont for a moment question Helen Clark’s half million a year taxfree salary flying first class, paid for by taxpayers worldwide – but decry Key who is a self made man.
Hate filled lovers of violence, who manipulate language to paint the opposite view.
“Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is warning voters that Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper’s policies, particularly his efforts to boost bike riding, are “converting Denver into a United Nations community.”
“This is all very well-disguised, but it will be exposed,” Maes told about 50 supporters who showed up at a campaign rally last week in Centennial.
Maes said in a later interview that he once thought the mayor’s efforts to promote cycling and other environmental initiatives were harmless and well-meaning. Now he realizes “that’s exactly the attitude they want you to have.”
“This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms,” Maes said.
Well she hardly endears herself to people. As a poster bringing attention to the issue , I think it is good. It also highlights all the hypocrisy we have had to endure in more recent times…It is always ”good enough” for others but a big hue and cry when something happens to one’s own.
So many on the right are fine with tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians being killed by a few occult tossers from the world of grandiose privilege, but a joke involving imagery of that kind of reality is an abomination.
It was made by lefties Pete, the same people who squealed like little piggies about Palin when a nut – whose favorite reading was the communist manifesto – had an episode.
See “magic bullet” above for an example of a deranged leftist wackjob. He is clarly ok with advocating this sort of shit. Its not mutual finger pointing Pete, its the left exposing themselves as violence approving arsholes who belief their agenda puts them outise the rule they seek to impose on others.
mb, seek professional assistance before your neighbours start telling the camera “he was a quiet man, kept to himself…”
Have a look at the reply from Iprent and the way he/she attempts to justify the comments made by “millsy”

“Quite frankly, I think Judith Collins, is for lack of a better term, a really nasty bitch herself, and sometime you gotta fight fire with fire.”
You let this sort of comment slide here Iprent?
I can just imagine the outrage if that comment was made about a Labour MP.
[lprent: Yes - it is the nature of political debate. I only tend to moderate them when they diverge from opinion into statements of fact (for obvious reasons) or they descend into pointless namecalling or trolling. But that kind of comment is made here all of the time about Labour MP's, Green MP's, NZ First ex-MP's, Act MP's as well as National MP's.
For instance - just taking a quick sample on a couple of names (and without bothering to hunt for the egarious examples):
You on Goff and Peters.
You on Cullen
You on Keith Locke
However, I'm perfectly happy to set up a policy to apply to you to prevent you from taking this distressing political tack if you wish. ]
I know the left are scum but this is unbelievable.
…and here come Kiwiblog’s three brown-shirts. Their function, we’re told, is to try to keep discussion at a playground level. The only place low IQ bullies ever have any power over the rest of us. They were the glory days for you guys weren’t they?
Retarded piece of graphic design – they’ve used a stencil font and a two-tone pic to make it look like some 70s anarchist poster ( text on a slight diagonal means anarchy and rebellion, right on maaaaaaaaaaan) but they’ve completely ruined the effect by putting a drop shadow under it.
Oh yeah, definitely Sarah Palin’s fault too. Morons.
It seems that that poster was made by some lefties. I have seen plenty of righties suggesting violence and use of weapons, not so much here now as most of that has moved off onto some minor blogs where it still happens. And it’s not hard to see in posts above attempts at violence smears, eg “You have to hand it to Sue Bradford” etc.
Promoting violence and violent language is smattered across the spectrum.
Oh and don’t give me “Saddam gassed the Kurds so it’s all good”. The US government was just as responsible for that. It was the fact that the US coveted Iran’s oil reserve that lead the US to arm Saddam against Iran, and subsequently, the Kurds.
Upon entry into war with Iran Iraq was advised by American and Israeli officials that a quick land grab of the waterway that Saddam had previously ceded to Iran, as well as some of its western oil fields, would be a relatively simple and safe matter. This was proven to be disastrously wrong.
During the Iran/Iraq war Saddam’s forces were engaged in chemical warfare in the region of northern Iraq, Kurdish territory. Iran was using chemical weapons in that region as well. Saddam authorized the use of chemical weapons on Kurdish cities that had been invaded by Iranian forces.
When the Iranians invaded northern Iraq the Kurds joined forces with the Iranians to fight the Iraqi forces. The Iranians and Kurds were entrenched in defensive positions within the cities so Saddam authorized the use of chemical weapons in order to flush them out.
“Promoting violence and violent language is smattered across the spectrum.”
Perhaps, but who gets tarred with that brush almost exclusively?
As soon as a leftist gets killed everyone screams about how it is the rights fault for a) committing the crime, and then when that is proven factually incorrect b) the rights fault for creating an atmosphere of hate.
As soon as some rightie gets murdered, do we see the same thing? Yes, its the rights fault for committing the crime, …
magic bullet – “So many on the right are fine with tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians being killed by a few occult tossers from the world of grandiose privilege, but a joke involving imagery of that kind of reality is an abomination.”
I’ll see your feeble attempt at misdirection and raise you 100 million killed by communism that you leftards seem to have no problem with.
MB – most sane people learned the lessons of appeasement.
Man is inherently evil. War is just a fact of life.
In saying that, im right into this no casulty cyber war too! The stuxnet worm is back, its been dormant for months. But just as the mad Iranians get ready to fire up their nukes, its back and its rooted them more than ever. outstanding work by Israel and the US
David…Collins is good at showing her true colours. If my lost , learning disabled nephew was shot by the police , Collins wouldn’t shed an ice cold tear. It would be ”too bad , how sad” for him and the rest of my family and then some pathetic..”the police did not do anything wrong” inquiry…another white wash in the land of eternal whitewashes.. As I said , hypocrits abound. If you are going to dish it out , then you need to be able to take it. Collins is very good at dishing it out.
It sounds as if you haven’t had any personal experience with the NZ police. Even the oldies in CHCH are now writing to the papers about them.
What are these visually illiterate arseholes trying to say?
It is unclear to me whether they are upset that Judith Collins is denying the police arming or, if they are armed, it will be ‘shooting herself’.
The only thing it DOES clearly communicate is that the ARE arseholes.
BB as long as you too are happy to be shot..My point is the hypocrisy..Collins has advocated for all NZers to become walking targets and yet other people even contemplating her being a target seems to be high drama. I wouldn’t call this article the politics of hate, I would call it the law of cause and effect. Treat others how you wish to be treated. Only the most hypocritical and intellectually impaired politician would ever consider introducing a law at the same time as expecting a personal exemption from it.
Collins has no mandate to arm the police. She is obviously no intellectual giant..just another power crazed , dominatrix. Women have very little time for this type of woman , yet they seem to appeal to a certain section of the male population. Personally , I see this type of woman as having nothing to contribute unless you are into whips and masks etc.
