Teens forced into marriages

As many as 50 underage New Zealand girls a year are being forced into marriages by Sikh and Muslim religious leaders who abuse a loophole in the Marriage Act to get away with it.

A respected ethnic women’s group, Shakti Community Council, is making the claim this week as it launches a media campaign to get the act changed.

“Within Sikh temples and mosques, girls as young as 13 and 14 are being married off and without being registered,” Shila Nair of Shakti told the Sunday Star-Times.

The marriages, performed by imams and granthi who know the law and the ethnic loophole, are consummated. “The girls are getting pregnant as young as 14 and 15,” Nair says. “Even the school systems do not pick it up and the girls go through a lot of suffering.

“It is a large problem – these girls do not come out, only when the abuse gets bad, do they seek help.”

Leaders of the Muslim community in New Zealand, however, say they are unaware of any underage marriages being performed here.

The girls are mostly locally born but their parents are from abroad and occasionally the male involved is brought in under an arranged marriage which Immigration New Zealand permits.

(Another fail for a Govt. Dept. yep the same one that continually fails.)

John Key’s pucker in big poli kiss-off

Key came up with the most kisses for the second year running. He was pushed by Tauranga MP Simon Bridges, who was a close second, and hardman Finance Minister Bill English came third.

For the women, it was an Auckland Central showdown. Last year’s winner, National’s Nikki Kaye, was pipped at the post by her competitor for this year’s election Labour’s Jacinda Ardern. Social Welfare Minister Paula Bennett was third.

So evidence is clear, good looks make the voters happy.
Though quite how English and Bennett make the grade is beyond me.

Jacinda and Nikki well yes any red blooded male could chose these two.
Always said Bridges was employed so all the blue rinse, died in the wool, never to change Nat women voters in Tauranga would vote for him. They always vote for these types. For years for Winston until he finally pissed them off. They still think he’s ok though.

Judge Bridget Mackintosh accepted the argument Menzies had used the “wrong technique” when blowing into the breathalyser, had a medical condition and was stressed.
“Your history of playing bagpipes is perhaps the reason you were using the wrong breathing technique… the combination of these factors caused you to refuse to give a blood sample,” she said.
She reduced his disqualification period to one month and fined him $500.
Menzies later told Hawke’s Bay Today playing the pipes involved blowing with controlled pressure, which did not work with a breathalyser.”

I have never been actually breath tested, nor played the bagpipes, so does anyone else know if all this is a crock of krap or not?
With typical sloppy ‘journalism’, the item is unclear as to his conviction being for speeding [the original infringement], drink-driving, failing a breath test or refusing to give a blood sample.

I was trested three times before Christmas and each time all I had to do was speak with the gadget in front of my mouth …. so if the guy could speak to the judge he could speak to the gadget … what a con. If he can fill pig skin with air then he can give a breath test for sure.

The time has come for every business in the country to be given a single identifying number and hurdles such as privacy concerns will be overcome to make it happen, the Small Business Minister says.

Your number should be your DNA number. after all DNA is just a bar code and the time is coming when a reader will be developed to read DNA real time. Sooner the better.
Bit it won’t be used because the Maori’s don’t want thier DNA tracked. so the fraud will continue just like yesterdays case.

So Peter Jackson takes the image of Ngauruhoe and composites it into a movie with the whole point of it being unrecognisable because if so he has failed, but he is not allowed now to do this because it affronts the spirituality of the mountain – how?

All whites didn’t deserve to win at the Halbergs.

Maybe the all whites deserved to win ‘most improved’ team award. Meaning they played above their usual abilities.

But, they hardly qualify to be the best ‘team’ when it comes to actual results.

They didn’t even make the quarter finals FFS.

This is like kids sports teams, where the player of the day gets shared around equally regardless of the merits of the players performance.

Luc Hansen – proves how ignorant you are – you associate the vatican to being the culture of all white people – it would be as bad as me saying that all maoris are unemployed protesters. Being of maori descent doesn’t mean you have to be part of the culture.

I can’t stand the maori culture as it protects bad people from having justice served, it encourages the belief that your lack of success is because your a victim of the white government, hell, it even says women can’t speak on the marae, it says that you cannot be heard without leglislated protection in the way of maori seats, it holds on to bad traditions just because it fears change.

The local iwi at ngarahoe have full right to refuse access if its there land – but it still a backward, stupid thing to do that helps shape my opinion of maori culture as being primitive.

if the maori party leadership keep flirting with going to a second term with a beneficiary-bashing/asset-selling national govt…

..the party membership will roll them….

..and that is what i think is starting to happen…

never forget…recent polls 83% of maori party voters wanting the party to go with labour…

and also..showing the depth of antipathy against national amongst the party membership…

..was that post-election poll..showing that 63% of maori party voters did not want to deal with national ‘under any circumstances’..

..and i reckon…given as how most maori have been kicked in the guts by this government…

..and that govt is only promising more….

..that those figures wd now be even higher against national…

and i still reckon it is the delusion-de-jour..perhaps for the rest of the year…that so many people/leadership in national are relying on/think is a given…

namely that the maori party will go with national next time…

…there are too many in the maori party totally opposed to that idea..

…and they will make sure it dosen’t happen….

..but you are all welcome to continuing believing what you want to believe..eh..?

I heard through the grapevine that the Marine and Coastil bill will be pushed through parliament next week. Unbelievable when most of the submissions were against this bill and the Maori affairs committee (the select committee for this bill) deliberated for only 2 hours and and suggested no change to the bill. Very pridictable outcome but the ramming through parliament was not.. Finlayson has not put the word “free” in the bill and calls opposition in Parliament “noise”. The arrogance of Finlayson is unbeleavable and John Key has certainly earned his reputation, the smiling assassin. He is doing to this country what he was doing to his girlfirend, now wife, during the springpot (sp) tour in the 80’s if you recall the the debate between helen clark and john key.

Just read about the chap doing his OE at the taxpayers expense and thought the following would stop such things happening in the future.
Im working in the Northern Territiory of Australia where people on the dole get the majority of their money paid to a ‘Basics Card’ which can only be used to buy essential items ie no booze, fags or overseas trips.
Not a bad idea me thinks.

Titewhai’s extraordinary comments come as elders from the Maori Council organise a hikoi from Northland to Parliament to oppose Sharples and Turia’s ongoing support of the Government’s contentious Marine and Coastal Area Bill.

Police are hunting a teenage gang member after another shooting in northern Hawke’s Bay this morning.

A 48-year-old Mongrel Mob member was shot in the shoulder about 8am, on Apatu St in Wairoa, north of Napier, police central communications Inspector Mike Coleman said.

He was taken to Wairoa Hospital for treatment to his shoulder and pellet wounds to his face.

THE equivalent of a year’s supply of drinking water will be released from southeast Queensland’s Wivenhoe Dam with further heavy rain forecast for the flooded region.

The dam’s role in last month’s flooding of Brisbane remains controversial, with some critics claiming that earlier releases of water would have stopped the inundation of up to 20,000 properties.

A Gold Coast judge has done just that in a court victory for a New Zealand sailor.

Bill Goodhue, of Napier, is suing the Volunteer Marine Rescue for allegedly causing almost $90,000 in damage to his prized yacht in the Southport Broadwater.

Muslim immigration.
Viking2 draws attention to the revelation from the Shakti C.C. regarding underage girls being married
by religious leaders in New Zealand. Muslim leaders claim they have not heard of it. Who do you believe ?
Recently we have heard from Merkel. Germany. Sarkosy, France and Cameron ,UK that multiculturalism
is a failure.
Camerons speech in particular pointed out that if Muslim immigrants wanted to migrate they needed to be prepared to
merge and adopt the laws and customs of their host country.
We now know that Muslims will not do this.
They are dedicated, due to their religion and beliefs to work to change
the systems in their host country to islam and some will use Jihad to achieve this.

Question is. Now that we know this, from overseas experience, and increasinlgy from our own experience,
Why the fuck would we want to import more muslims into New Zealand ?

i’d be interested to hear any argument in favour of continued muslim immigration to NZ
