And the winner is

March 7th, 2011 at 3:00 pm by David Farrar

The closest guess from blog readers was robcarr on 547 – who also was the first to guess. Lucia Maria was just one further off on 540.

This is the first year that the total has fallen, since 2005. In 2005 it fell by only one – in 2011 we fell by 37 – true proof of the double dip recession.

That looks a most disappointing number of bottles of bubbly.
Remember the greatest of all opinions from John Maynard Keynes.
When asked late in his life if there was anything he would have changed he is supposed to have replied that if he had his life again he would drink more champagne.

Interesting that NZ has basically accepted caps. They’re barely to be seen in the US… although, admittedly, we’re also the land of 1c coins and $1 notes, so not exactly a model of rapid elimination of illogical traditions.

Random number between the previous two for the win. I did neglect to guess the % caps though. Who was closest on that?

Tempted to accuse DPF of a Ken Ring approach to economics but won’t yet. What DPF has failed to factor into this analysis is time spent out of country, I seem to remember blogs about Vienna Girl, Paris Pash, Bulgaria Babe, not forgetting my personal favourite who was from the Niagara Falls well she certainly seemed to cum from there.

I haven’t forgotten his trip through the Middle east, and the Tehran Tramp or the Irresistible Israelite.

I am totally unreliably uninformed that he has yet to develop a Hong Kong following, for reasons that prickle me like a plant. But trust me Myanmar Maid and Singapore Slut will effect the current years count. I also can’t discount rumours of the Belarus Beauty and Guam Girlfriend need to be factored in to the Feb. 2012 count.

It is my opinion that DPF should bring some closure to this exciting new way of measuring economic performance by including all foreign closures in his next disclosure. I can understand why he failed to show a picture of Tehran Tramp but really was if fair to deny us a picture of Singapore Slut ?

Might have been a few over there that he couldn’t uncork as well.
Closures might have been to tight!

I think ‘cabbage’ should get a special mention – his guess of 536 corks is only 11 off (was probably even closer when the original photo was taken!) and 83% stelvins also pretty close.
