Russian MPs ‘banned from wearing miniskirts’
Russian MPs and their aides will soon have to follow a new ethics code forbidding miniskirts and indiscreet behaviour that may tarnish the image of parliament, a report said on Friday.
This is very wrong. MPs should be free to wear what they deem appropriate.
My position is based purely on constitutional principles and freedom of speech, and has nothing to do with the fact that the two people in the photo above are Russian MPs.

New Zealand MPs have no such ‘ethics code’.
New Zealand MPs, like New Zealand Judges have no enforceable ‘Code of Conduct’.

PS: Call me ‘old-fashioned’, call me ‘unenlightened’ – but what I for one am FAR more interested in – is the POLICIES and POLITICAL TRACK RECORDS of these Russian MPs?
Anyone know the answer to THAT question?
And, I DO support enforceable ‘Codes of Conduct’ for both NZ MPs and NZ Judges.
And I DO support the concept of appropriate dress for public office.
You can see why – by just reading David’s original post and so many of the replies.

Oh – sorry – they’re so ‘hot’ we’ve completely forgotten that point, and are SO distracted, we couldn’t possibly be consistent and apply the same rules to all those in political office.

These two were great gymnasts Alina Kabaeva is possibly the greatest rhythmic gymnast of all time and Svetlana Khorkina has seven Olympic gold medals in artistic gymnastics.
They have both achieved a great deal in life, this post is superficial

The only real issue I can take with this blog’s content is the old-man leching that pops up every month or so.
It’s enough to drive a person back to Labour where their policies may be shite, they may be political liars, but at least they’re not sleazy.
