Just changing direction chaps,
I’m told by my law clerk, that 6pm 21 May 2011 is the scheduled end of the world.
Apparently there are “christian” groups prostletising at Auckland University who are raving about it.

There is even a website discussion about it here: http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/420960/?s=
It seems there will be all the usual things earthquakes, pestilence, bodies popping out of graves.

I’m just a tad sceptical myself. So’s my clerk.
Anyway put it in the diary and see what happens.

alex, I’m not convinced, but to have a bet each way I think I’ll defer my bill payments this month until the 22nd.
One thing not made clear at that link is whether it’s 6pm local time. Perhaps I’ll just defer the payments until June.

Good question? I will ask my assistant to make some enquiries of the promoters of the event to see what their understanding is.

I have to pay PAYE by the 20th and as I don’t think the IRD will accept the end of the world as an excuse for non-payment I will pay them but with a post dated cheque.

More importantly I’m trying to work out if I will wear formal attire for the event or more casual wear. And then will it be champers to celebrate the event or the contents of my beer fridge?

alex, it’s great they’ve scheduled this for a Saturday evening. Probably why so many haven’t worked out in the past, they’ve just been too inconveniently timed.
I’d go for champers and the contents of the beer fridge. Saturdays are usually more appropriate for casual wear too, especially at the early hour of 6pm.

What is DPFs policy on removing Penny Bright from this blog? That’s a serious question. I do appreciate he does have rules as to when he does that, and when he does not. Despite the annoyance.
But he could consider
1. It’s wrong to respond to, tease, argue with, the deluded. It’s not good for them and in a strange way reinforces the delusion as real.
2. It’s genuinely annoying. Never funny. And even other abusers on this blog can crack a funny from time to time.

I’d like Penny to answer the questions posed by TDM at 1.33pm.
However I think the avian swine are more of a likley happening than a coherent response.

Back to serious matters. My clerk posed the question about cremation. If as is predicted on 21 May the end of the world happens and graves pop open spilling their undead occupants into the streets, what happens to those who have been cremated? Does, for example, the urn with the mother in law’s ashes in it burst back into life.

It’s an interesting question.

No Nookin. I am not going to ask. It’s in the interest of the deluded person not to ask. Or get involved in the fantasy. While there is genuine annoyance caused by this deluded person. Not getting into the argument is in their interest. And eliminating them from the blog would be helpful to them. Not only to the rest of us.

I have previously posted numerous questions to her — particularly in relation to soliciting money, accountability to her financial supporters and whether there should be a code of conduct for public watchdogs. She seems to have glossed over these posts. Penny of course regards herself and her mate Vince as being above the law – a sort of “compliance-optional” state of affairs if you get my drift.

Your question re the side effects of cremation will probably have to be answered by someone with an interest in theology. As none of the usual godbotherers have taken the bait maybe you should rephrase the query to include the words “abortion” or “civil unions”.

This usually brings them out of the woodwork in force.

Despite the comment of Yvette first up this morning, I would ask Penny Bright how she feels now about Jacob Cohen’s assertions that the New Zealand Police are a party to the so-called Pike River Murder plot, in view of . . .

Bernie Monk, spokesman for the families of the 29 men killed in the mine last year, said police told families at a Wednesday night meeting that video footage may show a second body inside the mine.

The news comes after police told the families last month that a senior forensic pathologist had confirmed a video image taken via a borehole in February looked like a fully-clothed person lying face down in the mine.

It would be interesting to see what happens to those whose ashes have been scattered too, particularly at sea. The 21st is weekend so I might have some time to keep an eye out. Need to know if it’s GMT or whatever though, could waste half a day waiting.

This is a cunning plot by the police to put the theorists off their scent. Coincidentally, Key has organised a fake bomb threat to divert attention from DPS protection and to create a sympathy vote. Two events like this in one week cannot possibly be coincidence especially in a week when overseas bankers contrived to rig the electoral referendum in the UK to preserve the status quo and eliminate the threat of inquiring minds in parliament. One event is chance. Two events are suspicious but three – three events prove the theory. This is proof positive of guilt. Can you not see that?

Sofia, having a browse through ‘Murder at Pike River Mine’ the inescapable conclusion is that the author is a conspiracy nutter.
Apart from the fact the book references a blog post from the Standard as part of his supporting evidence, the author also asserts that Pearl Harbour was a set-up by Roosevelt and Churchill, amongst other typical tin-foil hat stuff.

*DADDY’S TEN RULES OF DATING* [Guys take note.]

Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk you’d better be

as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes
or hands off of my daughter’s body, I will remove them.
Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear
their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips.
Please don’t take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are
complete idiots.
Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so
I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear
showing and your pants ten sizes to big, and I will not object. However, in
order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact come off during the course
of you date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten
your trousers securely in place to your waist.

Rule Four:
I’m sure you’ve been told that in today’s world, sex without utilizing a
“Barrier method” of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate, when it comes
to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.
Rule Five:
It is usually understood that in order for us to get to know
each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other
issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require
from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back
at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is: “early”
Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many
opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is
okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little
girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with
you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.
Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and
more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and
fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should
not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a
process than can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead
of just standing there, why don’t you do something useful, like changing the
oil in my car?
Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places
where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places
where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or
happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to introduce
my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other
than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka — zipped up to her throat.
Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are to be avoided; movies
which features chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes
are better.
Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding,
middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am
the all-knowing, merciless God of your
universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one
chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I
have a shotgun,
a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.
Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to
mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a
rice paddy near Hanoi. When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the voices in
my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my
daughter home. As soon as you pull into
the driveways you should exit the car with both hands in
plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a
clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then
return to your car — there is no need for you to come inside. The
camouflaged face at the window is mine.

My mate’s missus left him last Thursday, she said she was going out for a pint of milk & never come back!

The police came to my front door last night holding a picture of my wife.
They said, “Is this your wife, sir?”
Shocked, I answered, ” Yes.”
They said, “I’m afraid it looks like she’s been hit by a bus.”
I said, “I know, but she has a lovely personality.”

Two Irishmen find a mirror in the road.
The first one picks it up & says, “Blow me I know this face but I cant put a name to it.”
The second picks it up & says, “You daft sod …….. it’s me!”

Paddy’s in jail. The Guard looks in his cell and see’s him hanging by his feet.

A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of a house: ”
Talking Dog For Sale .” He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is
in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador
retriever sitting there.

“Yep,” the Lab replies.

“So, what’s your story?”

The Lab looks up and says, “Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was
pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my
gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country,
sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog
would be eavesdropping.

I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running.”

“But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn’t getting
any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the
airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters
and listening in.”

“I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I
got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I’m just retired.”

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the
dog.

“Ten dollars,” the guy says.

“Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so
cheap?”

“Because he’s a liar. He never did any of that shit.”
