“I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in London.
I think it should be the goal of every British person to be tolerant.
Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque
We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, “The Turban Cowboy “, and the other a topless bar called “You Mecca Me Hot.”
Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called “Iraq o’ Ribs.”
Across the street there could be a lingerie store called “Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret “, with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods.
Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, “Koranal Knowledge”, its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called “Morehammered.”
All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.
If you agree with promoting tolerance, and you think this is a good plan, please pass it on…

Particularly troubling, is the geologist who was so worried about mine saftey she warned her husband not to enter the mine.

And todays evidence is ugly too.

You wonder why no one blew the whistle on this operation? Or, is it just easy to be an expert after the event?

Labour getting to introduce their tax changes will be the last straw for me.

I refuse to sit here and have my income further decimated by a socialist government.

Not only are labour introducing new taxes, they are increasing existing ones.

The GST off fruit and vegetables will actually mean an increase in total amount i pay as it introduces inefficiency.

There was one good question from a scientist ” when will the Australian people know their taxes they have paid for carbon have done their job or at what point will we know we have been successful”. Of course it’s an impossible question to answer but more importantly there will never come a time when victory is claimed, this will be a tax forever and it is designed to grow larger year after year. Once introduced it will never be repelled, it is a politicians drug of choice. Just like our mongrel, scumbag, scabby arse politicians the Aussies are been sold into socialism and ultimately slavery.

Campbell Live fined for ‘wriggling masses of rats’

RATTY FINE: Campbell Live, the TV3 current affairs show fronted by John Campbell, has been fined $16,000.

A Campbell Live item alleging a recycling plant was unsanitary and rat-infested has cost the show $16,000 after it was fined by the Broadcasting Standards Authority.

In a ruling released today the BSA has ordered TVWorks to pay the recycling company $13,742.20 costs and also ordered it to pay the Crown costs of $3000 as well as being ordered to broadcast a summary of the decision.

Only $10k. Oh well media works ain’t got the cash to pay anyway so perhaps the recyclers will be able to push them into bankruptcy where they belong.

An Austrian has won the right to be photographed wearing a pasta strainer for his driving licence on the grounds of religious freedom.

Niko Alm announced the decision on his blog, saying that, after three years of struggle, a psychologist had passed him fit to drive and so he could wear the kitchen implement for the picture ID.

Mr Alm, who calls himself a “pastafarian”, said he belonged to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which lampooned religion.

“Today I was able to get my new driving licence, and in it you can clearly see that I’m wearing a colander on my head to demonstrate my allegiance to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster,” Mr Alm wrote in his blog.

“My headwear has now been recognised by the Republic of Austria.”

The spaghetti church was founded in 2005 in opposition to pressure on the Kansas school board in the United States to teach the theory of intelligent design in biology classes as an alternative to evolution.

It has engaged in a light-hearted campaign against religion ever since.

Pastafarians claim the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but, because the monster was inebriated at the time, it was a flawed design.

A reasonably partisan summary. Both parties have themselves in a pickle. It seems pretty obvious that only a combination of tax increases and spending cuts can pull the US out of the enormous. Unfortunately, the Democrats can’t afford to be seen to cut spending and the Republicans can’t afford to be seen to support tax increases. So the game shifts to who can carry most of the blame for the mess.

A barman is sitting behind the bar on a typical day, when the door bursts open and in come four exuberant blondes. They come up to the bar, order five bottles of champagne and ten glasses, take their order over and sit down at a large table.

The barman can’t contain his curiosity any longer, so he walks over to the table. There in the center is a beautifully framed children’s jigsaw puzzle. When the frenzy dies down a little bit, the barman asks one of the blondes, “What’s all the chanting and celebration about?”

nasska I subscribe to low universal tax, small govt, free-market, no price-fixing, mostly de-regulated but not all, mostly private ownership but not all and stringent effective enforcement of wise yet flexible financial laws which would by now see many more in the firing line, many more in jail and many more under investigation.

I also subscribe to a wise and intelligent MSM faithfully fulfilling its role as the Fourth Estate on a daily basis, as well.

I’m a very disappointed hence angry man therefore nasska. It makes me shake with rage, just like a lefty does when they see a poor person.

I’d like to say the Democrat tactics are cute but actually they’re as crude as hell.

Ramp up spending until your annual budget is 40% more than just four years ago.

Then scream that any spending cut that even approaches that figure means the end of the world and that the only real way out are tax increases (with a bit of joke spending thrown in for laughs).

I think they’re running the mirror image of Gingrich’s whither-on-the-vine approach. I call it feed-the-beast. Actually it may be engorgement – and it may end up killing the whole thing.

That 40% cut is perhaps the best example of how fucked the US is, since it is an unimaginable number and yet if it ever was executed, would take Federal spending back not the 1950’s or even 1970’s (which such a budget cut could conceivably have done even in the 1980’s) – but only to 2006.

What really worries me is that this is more than just partisan sniping: the left in the US really do not get this. To them it’s just a war to raise taxes. Time they looked up the story of King Pyrrhus of Epirus.

And of course her husband works. add in WFF and her state house subsidy.

He sure should, but you should be aware that Abbott has considerably altered his stance on climate change from being a rabid denier.

The problem for this kind of guy is that when they get near the levers of power, they get more information through briefings etc and they simply cannot defy reality and retain credibility. We never hear the “global warming is a hoax” line from our JK anymore, do we?

And do notice, KK, that at least I go out of my way to listen to alternative arguments to what I perceive to be true. I might just take the time to play the tape and pick up tony on a few more, shall we say, misstatements.

Citizens simply don’t want to turn their countries into barren, energy deprived wastelands as the ruling elite – no longer satisfied with their domestic domains – look to upsize their powerbase to the global stage courtesy of the UN.

By 2020 they might achieve a reduction of 60 million tonnes of CO2 per year. Do you know how much ‘warming’ that might theoretically stop?

The difficult with attacking the IPCC is that it involves buying in to the biggest conspiracy theory since conspiracy theories were invented. After swallowing that one, it becomes comparatively easy to demonstrate that the moon landings were faked, the World Trade Centre was brought down by a controlled demolition, Celts settled New Zealand 2,000 years ago and tinfoil helmets will protect you ffrom alien mind control.

Well mikenmild, here’s the way I see it. It’s like a police investigation where they’ve already decided who did it, and they focus on that suspect to the exclusion of all others.
There are political ends to be achieved, and making people believe a new tax is the only way to save the world is devilishly clever don’t you think? And an ideal excuse to implement more global government.
In the meantime, the actual climate is not following the models and the ocean rise has slowed. Extreme weather events are not unprecedented as anyone capable of using google can verify for themselves.
Power bills are rising pushing more people into fuel poverty. Germany in deciding to shut down nuclear power are building more coal power to make up for it. How’s that helping?
The biggest names advocating we reduce our carbon emissions are those with private jets, multiple homes around the world and carbon footprints the size of cities.
When the warmist advocates stop flying around the world to climate conferences they might have more credibility, but as long as they aren’t scared enough to do that why the hell would you believe them? They don’t believe it, look at them. If you really believed CO2 would wreck the planet would you really keep flying to conferences when you could video conference?

But bear in mind the actual science is not of great interest to me, I just look at what the science community agrees on, especially when the agreement is virtually unanimous.

The answer basically clusters around 1.2C for average global temperature rise directly attributable to the effect of doubling of CO2 from pre-industrial levels.

He favours what he calls a Fee and Dividend approach. We would call it a tax and rebate scheme.

The idea is to have an across-the-board carbon tax, collected centrally, with all revenues returned equally to all individual taxpayers.

That way, we can make rational decisions based on a concrete price signal.

Funny thing is, it’s the market-first people most opposed to this approach, preferring government intervention aka Liberals in Aussie.
