Whoops

July 16th, 2011 at 9:59 am by David Farrar

The Dominion Post shows what people saw on Labour’s new website.

They’re blaming You Tube and computers for it, but the solution is simple. You untick the box which says “show related videos”. You also test before you go public.

Clearly the wheels have fallen off the Labour band wagon. How can this circus act political party be taken seriously. A woman in labour does more work than these moronic public tit suckers.

“”Bearing in mind that computers are just high-speed morons: to a computer, a political party is no different to a woman in childbirth,” the spokeswoman said. ”

I think I can understand why the “spokeswoman” wished to remain anonymous. The same person probably thinks that a motor vehicle is an incredibly stupid moronic piece of machinery because it does not actually know whether to turn left or right, start or stop unless somebody is there to turn the wheel or turn the key. The moronic person in this case is the person feeding the data into the computer. To use the motor vehicle analogy, that person was the driver telling the vehicle to turn left when she wanted to go right.

The biggest concern here is that some people appear to think that computers do all the work for you and are readily operable by brain-dead labour spokespeople.

Is this proof that labour is following up its descent into moral bankruptcy with fiscal bankruptcy? If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

This is going to be a really fun day today. I trust the ?Red Blurt and the Stranded will apologize profusely to Cunnlifes viewers.

Still what about Women in Labour?? eh.
Got to be careful what you use to display your press releases.
Cunnlife, displaying videos of women in Labour. To explain CGT.
I mean, they really are screwed up.

Haha even funnier. Cunnlife’s name comes up as a spelling mistake. So click on the fix spelling and guess what comes up.
    Oh Dear.
    Cunnilingus

We won’t make any funny jokes about things like “fanny licker’s” and Women in labour. Well why wouldn’t we.
Not sure if there is going to be a CGT on that proposition.
    Hehehe
    What joy.

    This from The economist:

    Jul 15th 2011, 9:51 by Buttonwood

A SMART note from Societe Generale points out what ought to have been obvious, that privatisations are unlikely to cure European state solvency. What is the value of a business? The discounted sum of all future cash flows. So when you sell a business, you lose access to those cash flows, which could have been used to service the debts. Or, as Socgen puts it

privatisations merely front-load future receipts into a single lump-sum as a state asset is sold.

Now it is possible that buyers of the asset might overestimate the cash flows, or apply the wrong discount rate. The seller might get a boost to their solvency if the buyer overpays. But that is unlikely in the current circumstances, when governments are being forced into sales; it is more likely that buyers will underpay.

Perhaps labour have cottoned on to Hone’s ‘controversy marketing’ strategy. If Cunnlife can take the ribbing with good grace and laugh at himself, then he’ll emerge in a good light and enhance his public profile, essentially for free. John Ansell, take note.

hj it would depend what kind of business is privatised – if it is a poorly run, overstaffed, loss making business like NZ Rail was in the old days then privatisation could well give the state money up front and save it money on an ongoing basis. Remember that some countries have not adopted the SoE model pioneered by NZ.
