Just look for a source of meat that tells you what you want to know. Some meats can be traced to farm of origin. Some butchers source and kill their own. Farmers markets could be worth a try. It might cost more but what s the price of religious purity?

Would you like this level of labeling?

krazykiwi, you dropped a bomb in the thread, a number of people including me understood it as support from you for the comments likening the young Norwegians to Hitler Youth. You then refused to discuss, clarify or deny. It wasn’t a personal smear in light of that, and was nothing like the implied smear of your’s directed at the young people in Norway, many of whom were murdered.

I’ve said I will listen but I have never promised to agree with everything anyone says. I stick by what I said and am happy to be judged on that.

You could have easily have made the point about the timing Beck’s comment without any implication that you endorsed it, you chose to implicate yourself and then chose to leave that unexplained.

You could give an unqualified explanation now for your comment, otherwise you will have to accept being called on what you posted. I don’t feel I have anything to apologise for.

This is what it was about:
Beck: “There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler youth. I mean, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing.”

krazykiwi: “While I don’t disagree with the words, his timing is both disgraceful and offensive.”

A National MP Ben dies and goes to Hell. The devil himself meets him surrounded by fire and lightning and offers to show the new bloke around the place. They pass sights that are so horrible that they have not even been seen on TV1, they hear sounds that would make mortals go insane with fear and they smell rotten and burning flesh everywhere.

Eventually they arrive at a door marked Labour Caucus room, and wails and gnashing of teeth can be heard outside.
“This is where you will spend the rest of eternity.” the devil smirks. Ben is obviously less than happy having to share all eternity with a bunch of Labour Politicians, but says nothing and assumes that this is indeed hell. As Ben enters the room he notices that everyone is being force-fed lemonade with beer through straws; some people are lying face down over swiss balls being buggered senseless by large men with masks on; everyone however is wearing a blue scarf.

Ben slightly perturbed by the fact that no Labour MP’s seem to have gone to hell asks the prince of darkness “Why are there no Labour Politicians in hell?”

“AAAHHH”, said the devil “We used to have them until we realised this was their idea of heaven!”

You misunderstood. Then you misrepresented. Then you refused to take my comments as face value. Then you attacked and smeared, while piously professing to endorse “more positive politics, no mudslinging or dirty tricks”

Absolutely disgraceful.

So let me be clear:

1. You are a hypocrite

2. I believe childrens political movements, or all/any types, are weird. Your straw man association of Norweigen kids, Hitler youth, dead bodies and distressed families was grotesque and distasteful. Shame on you.

3. I would not discuss childrens political movements at a schedule that suited you. That was never my intention, moreso as my core criticism of Beck was the absolute inappropriateness of that discussion. I noticed that you joined the feeding frenzy on this topic the next day. I didn’t. My mates Norweigen wife was pretty upset, and given the the grieving were yet to even begin burying their dead it wasn’t appropriate.

Pete, I had a modicum of respect returning for you despite your smears over the AGW business. But that has vanished. Your own words show you to be very prepared to sling mud and engage in dirty tricks. Your refusal to show even the slightest remorse simply reaffirms my assessment of your behaviour as disgustingly hypocritical.

That’s quite different to ““There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler youth”.

The camp was for youths and young adults, not children.

And you are still not clarifying whether you think the Hitler youth connection was appropriate or not. You could have easily done that then. You could easily do that now. That you keep addressing that makes it seem like you’re not being up front with your views.

All you need to clarify your views on the Hitler reference. If you’d done that in the first place this could have blown over and been forgotten by now.

Why are you loading that interpretation into his comments either today or the other day?

Nothing is more irritating than when someone takes the wrong interpretation on something you’ve said and won’t let it go no matter how many times you explain it. It happened to me a few weeks ago and it was tewwible. I had a gweat big cwy and then I felt better but it was weally bad at the time.

But seriously, let’s get real right? This guy isn’t worth a minute’s headspace in that what he did is inexplicable in any way worth considering. If you care to understand his motives, why? They can’t be rational, so why bother?

After the bit in The Shadow of Hermes where the cheering Estonians, etc welcomed the German army as liberators from Soviet tyranny, the narration was ‘in the German camps things were very different’, followed by scenes of star-wearing inmates leading happy, fulfilled lives. I don’t know how anyone could miss that. Apart from that, the masonic conspiracy stuff was pretty entertaining.

That was 30 secs of 151 minutes mm. If all you got out of it was Masonic Conspiracy I feel very sorry for you.

Thing about that stuff is, if that’s your first real exposure to it, you wouldn’t have a hope of getting it. You’d be too engaged with your cognitive dissonance. But good you watched it. Hopefully you’ll watch others on different topics in years to come, as well.

If you do and you’re discerning, you’ll discover it brings new paradigms of understanding and meaning which adds to and not detracts from your previous views and layers and meaning. In other words, it’s an addition, plus you still have your old views, as well.

No of course it’s not, mm. Cognitive dissonance is ego-protection.

It happens all the time when you get ideas that challenge accepted reality. If you have to change a paradigm of how the world works that’s not a small thing for it means re-assessing a lot of things about how you thought it was all put together.

What I meant by “if all you got out of it was Masonic conspiracy I feel sorry for you” is that if that’s all you could focus on, that’s all you were seeing and there were a number of layers in that thesis.

I never even noticed the Masonic bits, I already knew all of that, anyway. The mention of Albert Pike was significant, but it would have escaped you, or didn’t it? Anyway, I was looking at other dynamics.

I suggest if you’re skeptical then check any of the historical names dates places he cites. Any of them. Just because a set of facts assembled in a certain way challenges your present belief structures doesn’t make that assembly false even if you yourself can’t bring yourself, yet, to even imagine objectively not emotively that it may, or may not be the case.

That’s what I do personally, with this stuff. I consign it to the possible file, pending further evidence one way or the other. It may be true, or it may not be. I don’t really care. But it explains a great deal about the dynamics which drive this world, if you’re discerning.

But the difference between you and I is, I calmly and unemotionally think it could be, for reasons in addition to what was covered in that 151 minutes, far more than just that, plus I understand exactly why you’re so skeptical as well, so whose better off in the general equation of knowledge = power here?

Of course you won’t. You want a bob each way, you seem to want to win pats on the back from “other readers here” who agree with the Hitler connection to Utoya, but you try to place a distance between yourself and accusations of doing the same by not having the guts to be up front about it.

And your continued reference to “children” sounds condescending at best. Of those killed on Utoya many were teenagers, quite a few in their 20s and 30s, several in their 50s, and Hanna Endresen was 62. I wonder if something sticks in the craws of their families – and if they knew their dead loved ones were being likened to Hitler youth it would stick it even more.

Its author doesn’t like its school report so first its going back for a “review”. What’s the money that the persons who prepared the report will be asked to step down or some such in the near future.
You wouldn’t even bet on that on ipredict.

Govt sends ETS report back for updating

The Government (NICK SMITH) has kicked for touch with the Caygill report on the emissions trading scheme (ETS), sending it back to the review panel for updating in light of Australia’s carbon tax scheme.

The move is liable to be seen either as a delaying tactic – given the panel, chaired by David Caygill, is unlikely to have any more information about the Australian scheme than the Government already has – or as a sign the Government ( Nick and his nutters),is unhappy with the review’s recommendations.
