    This is a NZ PIED STILT with the cool backward bending feet (like the ostrich).

    Aparrently, two new species have been found recently. One is a black and white bird in Hawaii. The other is a monkey in the Amazon.

    This is the species getting into trouble with DOC, and others, for inter-breeding with the rare Black Stilt. Well you see, the Black ones are so rare they cannot afford to be picky.
    Love watching these wee fellas work a pond, Chthoniid. We had them on the farm at times.
