While Caesar famously made war on the Celts in Gaul his line Veni Vidi Vici,relates to Asia Minor.A war against a Greek kingdom in what is now referred to as Turkey.
The Turks are late comers to the region and progressively ethnically cleansed Asia Minor of its indigenous Greek inhabitants and renamed the country in their own image.
