1st poll of 2012

January 21st, 2012 at 10:00 am by David Farrar

Roy Morgan have their first poll since the election out.

They say it shows little change for the major parties:

  • National 47%
  • Labour 27.5%
  • Greens 14.5%
  • NZ First 5.0%
  • Maori Party 1.5%
  • Mana 1.0%
  • ACT 0.5%
  • United 0.5%

To me it shows how things remain close. Labour, Greens and NZ First combined are 47% – same as National.

However the right direction indicator has gone up from 49.5% to 60.5% and wrong direction down from 31% to 28%.

They seem to consistently over estimate the Greens popularity. They had them at around 14.5% in their last poll before the election too.

David … I think you meant Winston First instead of United Future (27.5+14.5+5=47).

Considering the Conservative Party got 2.65% (5th overall, beating 4 in parliament parties) I’m surprised they weren’t included in the poll.

I am certain that the Greens are vulnerable to their BS “global warming” lie being exposed. It seems to me that many people in NZ have no idea that so-called “manmade global warming” has been utterly discredited.
When that knowledge becomes more widespread, I’d say that the Greens support would slip a fair bit.
Anyway – it is good to see Winston First heading down. Hopefully that will continue, and hopefully they’ll be well below the 5% threshold in a few months.

I doubt whether Winston really cares a damn about his ratings.
He surprised himself I am sure in getting back.
I am sure with a rabble party he has got they who will go out of their way to be purely obstructive.
