Christchurch approval ratings
May 28th, 2012 at 11:00 am by David FarrarThe Press reports on a poll of local residents, on how they rate the performance of various people. in order the approval ratings are:
- SVA founder Sam Johnson 98%
- CERA CEO Roger Sutton 81%
- PM John Key 74%
- Labour Spokeswoman Lianne Dalziel 73%
- CCC Mayor Bob Parker 63%
- Chch Central Development Unit Director Warwick Isaacs 62%
- CERA Minister Gerry Brownlee 52%
- Anglican Bishop Victoria Matthews 45%
- EQC CEO Ian Simpson 36%
- CCC CEO Tony Marryatt 24%
Sam Johnson’s rating is phenomenal. Not just for a 98% approval rating, but the breakdown is 58% extremely good, 33% very good and 7% good. If Sam mounted a military coup with the SVA, he’d probably be acclaimed dictator for life

The SVA had more “troops” deployed in the Christchurch “theatre” than the NZDF have in total.

Like to see him leading the Anglican Cathedral rebuild – as a Catholic he should look to the Basilica.

It really rustles my jimmies that Gerry Brownlee is so low
He is a local ChCh lad who has done a bloody good job of a terrible situation. Where’s the gratitude? Looks like tall poppy syndrome at work.

Now that there are performance ratings, perhaps pay can be adjusted appropriately

Brownlie and Key are not popular here in CHCh. I would say Key’s reading is false. Most consider that Brownlie has done NOTHING. There has been a recent protest specifically about him.
Vote:Sam on the other hand , is fantastic..and he can sing too.

‘Looks like tall poppy syndrome at work.’
Yes that’s it, nothing to do with Brownlee’s complete lack of communication skills, his arrogance or complete lack of empathy.

If Brownlee had a high rating then he’d be copping out. As Earthquake Recovery Minister he can’t made endless popular decisions, he has to make hard decisions.
