Dime would pass out or puke before phill
There would be a high risk of serious consequence people die of alcohol poisoning surprisingly easily
It does not have the self limiting factor that pot does
Also phill is I believe a constant user of pot so his tolerance would be way higher than mine
twenty drinks = 3 bottles of wine thats a lot in a short space of time

I banged on and on before the last election that ‘Goff has always polled lower than Rudd’. Labour didn’t listen.

After all this time as leader, if Shearer ever comes out and actually says something, it is going to look underwhelming at best.

Even a ‘show me the money’ comment in reply to the budget is going to look cynical as everyone knows it means ‘other peoples money’ coming from the socialist Shearer.

If Gillard goes – so too will Shearer.His support base will be doing the same as Julia’s, ‘wait till we see if there is a jump in the polls’ – there won’t be.It’s too late.

Don: Yes, at the risk of sounding boastful…(but then, who could ever accuse me of that?) in the dim distant past, “rising to the challenge” three times from sundown to sun up was not unknown… but now? as you say, as long as one makes it to the toilet without dribbling on each occasion…

To those wondering about the Muldoon era minister possibly drunk in Molesworth st.
Keith Allan died in his early 50s and was found allegedly drunk in public.
My knowledge tells me it could have been diabetes related as they present similar and drinking any alcohol s not helpful. his early death suggests he was not a well man .
There were no charges but police were involved as he claimed a possible assault.
Early 80s vastly different as regards alcohol consumption and Bellamy’s???
Muldoons calling the snap election that brought Lange to power a classic, “drunk in charge of a country”.

gravedodger: Yes, your memory (or Google) is quite right, it was he…but it gives me a shiver that he was in his early 50s’ at the time ???? As I am now…I recall that footage of a thickset grey headed guy (mind you it was black and white, so hard to tell) staggering up Molesworth Street with his shirt hanging out…

But it was indeed a totally different era…my friend (Well, I hope he still is) Roger Douglas used to tell me how different things were two years ago from when he was first elected in 1969…the two things I remember most are that journos and MP’s used to drink together, and what was said in the bar stayed in the bar…and that Roger “never saw Les Munro sober after lunchtime” !!

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg sued by shareholders over IPO

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been sued by the social media network’s shareholders over its disastrous IPO.

The lawsuit accuses Mr Zuckerberg, Facebook and several banks led by Morgan Stanley of hiding the company’s weakened growth forecasts ahead of its $16bn initial public offering.

The defendants are claimed to have concealed from investors during the IPO marketing process “a severe and pronounced reduction” in Facebook revenue growth forecasts.

The news comes as Morgan Stanley, the bank in charge of the IPO, is being investigated over possible securites fraud.

The US bank has been accused of failing to warn smaller investors of a more negative assessment of Facebook’s future profits.

It is claimed that several major investors had been pre-warned that a Morgan Stanley analyst had cut the amount of money he expected Facebook to make.

Doesn’t matter whether is thieving socialists with their hand in my pocket on payday, or despicable robber barons defrauding my investments. They should all hang high.
