…and finally, some sunshine in Auckland.  Blue skies, coffee and sunshine is a fine way to begin the end of the week :)

    Another great pikkie. A sulphur crested cockatoo – they regularly live to around 70 (human) years and are a great pet.

    Really, can’t ever get these Friday photos

    They always seem so mundane and ordinary

    Raising the question why are they here?

    Hmmm… dare I ask how you are familiar with the peculiar sound tortured babies make? ;)
    I’m afraid Sydney lacks appeal for me because of the dearth of crocodiles.

    Jeez Redbaiter…. you really are a miserable bastard, aren’t you? Your house must be a real fun place to live….

    No surprises you don’t appreciate Friday Photos – to do so requires a sense of empathy for the environment / nature / wildlife etc, plus a sense of recognition that someone (Chthoniid) has the necessary skills to not only capture a moment but also a willingness to share it with us.

    But thanks for proving once and for all that you’re a complete stalk.

    Those pesky critters were most unpopular back on the farm – not sure why – but everyone seemed to dislike them!!
    Try retirement, Chthoniid. Often not sure what day of the week it is. Thank goodness for 7 day supermarkets.
    Do you have a pic of a Fernbird by any chance?

    @Elaycee

    Thanks- yeah, they’re a bird that can pack in a lot of personality.

    @fredinthegrass

    I’ll concede I prefer them in Australia to NZ.
    I’ve got some fond memories of spotting fernbirds but alas, not even a record shot of one. The combination of being secretive birds in wetland habitats is a bit of a challenge.

    I remember seeing flocks of these flying around on a farm that I was working on up the Whangaehu Valley near Wanganui one summer. Like @fredinthegrass says – they were not looked upon fondly for some reason….

    Classic shot.
