Same- marriage advocates in Australia say the fight is far from over after 's go-it-alone bill failed in the state's .

Tasmania's 15-member Legislative Council voted down the bill 8-6 on Thursday night.

In August, it had become the first such bill to be passed in an Australian lower house.  

must make Tasmania a bit special as the only state where brothers and sisters can marry each other, but not same sex couples!
