The Canadian judge paid $400,000 for his report on Bain. It’s a sticky trough alright.Maple syrup flows both ways,I wonder if he would like to become our next GG? Then the big Maori presence in the German bookfare and a well known plagiarist,a man for hire fronting up as well. I hope some of our representatives get a chance to read a few books whilst they are there.But where was our biggest seller,the one and only Richie McCaw and will he and his book be there next year?

The Roy Morgan poll puts the spotlight on National’s slide and Labours labouring, but there’s another interesting aspect – support for the Maori parties.

– Maori Party 1.5% – down from 2.5%
– Mana Party ^ (signifying less than 0.5%) – down from 1.5%

So the total Maori+Mana has dropped from 4% to about 1.5% (+/- 0.5% due to rounding).

Small party support can be fickle, but is this an indication that water claims, disunity and niggerly comments are losing Maori support?

It’s also worth noting that 4% is about a quarter of the Maori population, and 1.5% is less than an eighth.

Watered down Maori support?

For the last two decades, New Zealanders have fought against identity politics by choosing the “Other” ethnic group on their census form and writing “New Zealander”. In 1986, 20,313 people did this, and in 1991, 20,800. By 1996, the number had jumped to 58,614. By 2001, it rose further to 85,300, and by 2006, the number of people calling themselves a “New Zealander”, had soared to 429,429! With the census due on the 5th of March 2013, and officials refusing to change the form on the basis that their “research and testing… were not conclusive enough to warrant changing the question”, it is highly likely that the number of people who will reject ethnic labelling to call themselves a New Zealander will exceed the 1 million mark. Maybe this will be conclusive enough to force a change.

“New Zealander” is the obvious choice for many New Zealanders.

Some may have other ethnic connections but first and foremost see themselves as New Zealanders.

Others (including me) have a bit of curiosity about family history but only see ourselves as New Zealanders.

I’ve been travelling for the last few days and only just had a chance to catch-up on Russel Muldoon’s latest brainfart….

But, most surprisingly was the level of economic analysis put forward on this blog, especially by some I had previously thought smarter, one in particular; wreck1080. Not one person addressed the only way to stem the flow of manufacturing job losses – and of course the greens would never even suggest it, because it involves LOWER taxes. Here is how to increase manufacturing jobs and productivity overnight;
1. Make all capital purchases fully tax deductible, as they are in the manufacturing powerhouse Germany
2. Cut corporate tax rate to 25%, with a view to getting it to 18% within 2 years.

Voila, there you have it, in two simple but bold steps you will revive the manufacturing industry immediately.

One of the most common arguments put forward in support of printing money, was the “but it hasn’t caused inflation in the US, UK or Japan”. Are you people who spouted this crap really that thick????

Of course it has caused inflation in those economies, but, only on imported goods. The thing is, those places all have very large domestic economies, meaning they can shield themselves very well from inflationary pressures – which simply, somewhere like NZ cannot. This is exactly why Zimbabwe had 100 trillion $ notes, because they had a tiny domestic economy. If the US were to close their borders to all foreign goods, they would get on pretty well, however, if NZ did the same thing, we’d be North Korea overnight.

If you could drag NZ and attach it onto Australia,Canada or the UK then there would be little disruption to your way of life,the law,education, food etc and even the usual minor dialect differences are not as pronounced as between the true Scots,Irish and Welsh. If somebody could define the uniqueness of the European NZer then I’ll give them $5. The differences are subtle,imperceptable and yet we feel we belong here.It’s not enough to say you are different or have a unique culture.What is that? A BBQ every 2nd weekend,wow> The only point of difference is Maori,language and the so called “culture” and even then that has been bastardised so much that Maori could easily be assimilated into UK culture- after all one is married into the Royal Family.

You raise an interesting point there about identity etc in places like Canada,Oz and here.
French Canadians are very proud of their separate identity and guard it jealousy. From the time of their defeat in 1763 to now they have had legal recognition of their uniqueness.The problem is the British Canadians (if I can call them that) became infected with all sorts of liberal wishy washy bullshit like multiculturalism,indigenous rights, leftist anti imperialism anti colonialism rubbish to the extent that white Canadians are reduced to being a guilt ridden ethnicity with no pride in their unique history. Many can only point to the USA and say “at least we have socialised health care”.

Sadly the same “progressive” ideas have destroyed Australian and New Zealand self perception ,where here we have been reduced to having to cling to some concept of maoriness to pretend to ourselves that we are unique. How often do you hear the bullshit spouted that “we’re better than the racist Australians because we trete our natives better”?

We should celebrate the nature and history of Britain,Canada,Australia and NZ.These are great democratic, constitutional monarchies that arose out of the efforts of brave,pioneering sailors ,soldiers and settlers.And the USA can be included in that history and tradition.

Managed to catch up with John Ansell as he left the Maori TV studio on Monday 8 October 2012.

Asked him if he thought ‘ONE LAW FOR ALL’ should equally apply to ACT’s current and former leaders, John Banks and Don Brash, who equally signed Huljich Kiwisaver Scheme registered prospectuses dated 22 August 2008 and 18 September 2009, which contained untrue statements.

what the odds that really what happened is that as John Ansell was leaving Maori TV he got accosted by a madwoman with a dead cat on her head screeching about John Banks, and he decided that just in case she decided to try and eat his hands, to agree with whatever she said until he could get a clear path of escape.

One law for all, does not mean that just becuase you dont like the person you can demand the police charge them. it also does not mean that the police have to charge someone. it simply means no special treatment due to race or position.

its been explained as nauseum to you dim, but the reason the police did not charge banks and brash is becuase they did not knowingly sign false statements. they were given a statement they understood to be true by someone they trusted, who was hiding the truth from them.

so while they technically committed a crime (signed a document that was false) there was no intent and therefore no crime.

unlike someone for example who willingly stole water from the council, with no intention of paying for it and in full knowledge they were committing a crime.

if you believe in one law for all Dim, then you should demand you be arrested as well.

Synthetic highs have been in the news with increasing reports of adverse effects of K2. This may be addressed as Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne has announced a new psychoactive substances regime.

When this comes into effect (August 2014) any new synthetic drug will have to be tested and approved first.

Pushers of unapproved drugs will face criminal charges and up to eight years in prison.

Users of unapproved drugs may be fined up to $300 but there will be no criminal charges.

Kronic seller Matt Bowden says Dunne has “struck the right balance” with the new regulations.

“If you set the laws too tight, you empower the black market and you end up with more dangerous drugs.

“If you have the laws too loose, you end up with drugs out there with no controls over them.”

No drugs are no-risk but this will help ensure more of those sold will at least be as safe as possible – Legalising synthetic highs.

It could end up being quite a radical change, with new low-risk drugs potentially becoming easily obtained legally.

New Zealand featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair, the world’s biggest, and Deputy PM English is reported as saying it is a bigger deal than the World Rugby Cup.

One of the NZ authors highlighted at the fair , Imahaera, was the subject of a plagiarism accusations three years ago. His reply, according to an NZ Herald editorial article, was that it was only two pages out of 538. So he’s among the envoys we send to the world’s biggest book show, in the land of Gutenberg, who set rolling the Western book trade.

Imahaera, hakas, introverted Bill English, poet-turned-writing-teacher Manhire, and so on go to Frankfurt.

Rutherford and Mansfield a long time dead. So what have we to put up at this big book fair? What about the Hobbit stuff? Oh, that’s right, some ultra PC types allege racism in Tolkien, reckoning the Orcs, the baddies, are non-white. Idiots, but could their rants have been enough to scare off Hobbitism at Frankfurt when Germans still feel guilty about the Nazis?

Perhaps our NZ does count for bugger all but cows and sheep, mountains and beaches, and museum celebration of an indigenous culture only 150 years away from cannibalism, slavery, and perpetual warfare. Sadly, there are few books in Maori, though a few more in English about Maoridom. All New Zealand titles amount but to a teacup full in the river of book titles (around 330,000 titles a year in the USA, over 200,000 in Britain, close to 100,000 in Germany, and under 4,000 in NZ).

It has to be intimidating when as a fairly new country you are highlighted in the big book show of Kultur land, which has produced hundreds of big hitters including Gutenberg,; Bach and Beethoven; Kant, Weber, Nietzsche, Schopenauer, and Marx; Humboldt, Planck, Gauss, Heisenberg, and Fahrenheit; Benz, Diesel and Daimler.

Never mind, a private snigger about Adolf bolsters our self-confidence.

I consider rape to be an appalling crime and really “up there”. Not quite murder. I’m no feminist lover but any bastard who thinks he can force a woman to have sex,often with vicious violence involved deserves to have his fucken nuts and cock cut off and displayed on the town gates.

Or you could be wrong bereal. First Tyson may do his abusive act and tell the kid that the only way to get want you want is to go out and take it. Most of us would see it figuratively but,these kids? Hence the,iwi support for this escapade.

To back that up, when my wife first went to see once were warriors there were many young Maori in the weekday morning audience. They thought the movie was hilarious and definitely identified with jake.

Secondly, perhaps these kids might understand the word “no” if it was said to them from childhood. But our whole system tells them from birth that they are simultaneously a privileged race and an underpirveledged minority. The system is set up to excuse them when they start committing crimes in their per-teen years and theymhav usually clocked up over 80 arrests when they finally kill or maim someone – ie coo it a crime so bad that society must intervene.

Do you think a talk from Tyson can change that?

For those have visited the states the boy from the hood stereotype is not representative of blacks and if our media were responsible they would show the vast majority of them in good jobs and climbing the socioeconomic ladder very well despite eeeeoooo and affirmative action.

But no, like our iwi the blacks in the political elite need the the public image of poor deprived criminal black fellers to cement their power base.

For my money Tyson looks & acts like someone who was kicked out of the Mongrel Mob for excessive brutality. That said, ‘bereal’s’ point made the other night was not that the Sth Auckland street gang kids should try to emulate his criminal history….rather the idea was that they could with work & determination succeed at what they aspired to be, ie in this case a world champion boxer.

It is a moot point whether this is the facet of his character they would copy rather than try to be more successful rapists.

But over the years as far as I am aware Tyson has made no claims to be a redeemed man or to give youth a vision,he has made it quite plain he has no morality tale to tell. Sorry but one expects a bit of wisdom from the man,he has nothing to say about his life. I agree he probably did deserve some benefit of the doubt,but he was judged otherwise. If he’d come out battling against his conviction then maybe some sympathy for him but according to the news he has called women since all sorts of derogatory and sexist remarks since. Is that a good role model to make the world a better place? For any type of youth. Bad boys will listen but they won’t learn anything life changing,just because he is bad is no reason to give him air space. Aussie can have him and the UK as well. We are far more sophisticated here hence our affair with Dottie. i doubt whether he was even going to speak to kids at risk just an audience who have paid money to see him. I’m wondering what would happen if I stood up and explained what he did the next time I’m called for jury service and the accused happens to be a gay Maori Johnboy. I have a feeling everyone would stand and whistle and applaud, including the judge and the lawyers, say things like “right on” and “yeah baby” and so forth.

What do you think?

I don’t even think the court reporter would even bother filing the story, I imagine it happens all the time, here in Wgtn.

I agree, Fletch, that most Jews are not violent. (Nor are most Muslim or Hindus) Of course that is not the same thing as saying most Israelis are non violent. But there again most of them (Israelis) came from places like Russia, America, England etc. Being a born and bred 8th generation Russian gives them more rights to that bit of desert than the folk born and bred there for centuries. That is the benefit of being gods “chosen” people (even if they wrote the book that myth is based on themselves)
