A reader took this photo from the train into Wellington from Wairarapa this morning. Lovely. Wish I was there.

Agreed – on a still morning the harbour is magic ( a fact that Aucklander’s don’t ever understand). Wish I was back there as well. . . (sigh)

Absolutely right – you can’t beat Wellington on a good day. I remember one in 1994, and another in the early 1970s……..

Wellington is wonderful in all its moods. But – “wish I was there” sounds like the lament of an ex-pat, not someone used to travelling who has just gone to Aussie for a few days????

One in 2002 and it was shit next day, then to sth Island and all was good.

Looks remarkably sharp for a photo from a train moving at speed. Signal failure? Derailment? Couldn’t have happened in a nicer place though…

As the owner of this photo, I can assure you obald that it was not photoshopped, nor was anything else was done to it. Just taken on my Blackberry as we went along. I take a lots of photos from the train so have got quite good at photographing while moving. If you look in the far distance you should see the ferry sailing through the Heads. Anyway, hope you all enjoy it!
