Swedish law is based on civil law, which in turn is based on Roman law. In Rome, the state religion embodied the principle of universality, i.e. absolute consistency. In other words, the motivation for diminishing the quality of school lunches is based on a religious idea, as applied to furthering the interests of the state.

It sounds like a great idea:) Also It is hoped that boys in High School will get Govt Funded Meds to lower their Testosterone levels so they are not aggressive or angry. This has been mentioned and I understand teachers in Sweden support the idea of boys taking Anti-Testosterone medication to lower the levels in the body:)…

You simply can’t give the people vouchers – they might choose to redeem them at the wrong place…. How can we guarantee the survival of sub standard suppliers (aka: Union dominated work places) when people have choice.

Luc … Surely vouchers can’t be acceptable to you ? Or is your world view such that you equate vouchers as being only redeemable at a single state provider ?

No… Unions and socialism don’t want improvement…. they want mediocrity…. We are all the same….

Ideally there would be one place (govt run) that makes the lunches and each student would need to go to that place to queue for their lunch. Socialism without queue’s just isn’t right you know.

It wasn’t about working harder, it was about costing too much. By standardising the meals across schools they could save money. She’s still allowed to make bread and salads just with fewer options.
