Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps it says more about who is more likely to attend live theatre in general, and this type of quirky new work in particular. I’d guess that you’d find a disproportionate number of “professionals” or suchlike in the audience in any of the major centres (you’d be more likely to be sitting next to some sort of university type in Dunedin, say, than a true Southern Man). Same’s probably true for the NZSO and the NZ Opera audiences.
