As I read that, Warner Bros WERE prepared to film it in the UK, or wherever. If they didn’t think NZ was ‘a stable employment environment’.

Given that the key actors are British and American, and flying them down to NZ for filming isn’t especially convenient, and given that the UK has a film industry, I could speculate that WB would be
happy to make films there.

If you have any proof, rather than speculation, feel free to provide it.

I like to think that New Zealand is more then just the scenery. If you take New Zealand as our thousands of crew, our set builders, our caterers, our visual effects ninjas, their families and support network, our world leading technology and artistry, the fans and well wishers who are proud of what we do and the students I’ve talked to who are inspired that we have and that they can do this level of work in NZ.

Looking at it that way Middle Earth would be about 97% New Zealand (I’ll give you that the score was recorded in London)
