in his ‘winners section’ he lists ‘emotional violence’, wtf is that. lefty sook talk for people standing up for themselves?

eddie is also wrong, NZ is the winner in this as it starts to show up how deluded and fractual the left are. just wait for the infighting in the greens to start, becuase it will.

the only way this all makes NZ the loser is if the greens get more power from it, as labour look positively government in waiting compared to that lot of nutters.

But they are not making the decisions, those who are, are in behind Shearer.

That’s the crux of the problem. The party showed clearly at the conference that they want to be a part of the decision making. And there’s very strong voices on blogs wanting to take power from the caucus.

Some in caucus are clinging to their power by any means possible – Shearer has made more enemies by clearly backing the undemocratic approach. But he is expendable, he wil be discarded when the real power put’s forward their real leader.

Unless 41% of caucus votes to hand over the decision to the 40/40/20 formula in February.

Shearer has tried to say the leadership issue should now be put behind them. There’s a few daggers behind him he should be very wary of.

A lot of those points of view are from a real left wing perspective with the emotions getting in the way. As I’ve blogged, it needs to bel-ooked at in a more historical perspective – Cunliffe gets more pay and more supporters if he divorces Labour and forms a T-Labour. Whose bloggers are all saying is that Cunliffe is making a comeback in Labour. It’s the end for Cunliffe in Labour particularly if his key lieutenants are demoted,.
Yes the real left wingers love Cunliffe.
But they are not making the decisions, those who are, are in behind Shearer.

Basically if you break your comittments without a twoway agreement then there has to be a hell of a good reason. Because otherwise your word is trash and you won’t get contracts. As far as I am concerned that is exactly what Shearer did and why I wouldn’t trust him ever.

There’s another. The Standard is both a winner and a loser.

The Standard wins a place in the spotlight, they’ve won the attention they sought (even Shearer must have heard of them by now).

Some of them have lost their ‘dump Shearer’ battle, for now at least.
Some have lost the ‘Shearer’s the man’ battle, possibly permanently.

They wanted fame, so far it’s closer to infamy, and it will move that way more if they continue to try and out-infight the Labour caucus.

It’s a fascinating example of involving a blog deeply in a party battle. The more you open yourselves to the wider world, the less control over the messages and the outcomes.

At this stage it’s The Standard’s worst ambition.
