The solar cell costs are not anywhere near fossil fuel prices. Though the 40c/ W they speculate would be good if they can mass produce it, the power can only have a 20% load factor. For self obvious reasons, it won’t be much good for general households without very expensive batteries. That is where the big costs are. Having said that, there are large niche markets that cheap solar cells open up.
