Replying to Nasska. No I wasn’t there but the accounts of the miracles of Jesus were written by those that were. Sadly we see a lot of lazy atheism these days. You too have a faith. There is no God, there are no miracles, the universe is all there is.
I hope this Christmas God will break into your world and convict you of his existence and his love. Even for those who deny him.

There is absolutely nothing in that man’s actions that contradicts with the Bible.

I have to disagree. Bursting in on a funeral of someone you don’t know to try and raise them from the dead is pretty rude and discourteous. It’s not showing love for your neighbour. It’s also against the will of God, because if it was God’s will then clearly it would have worked, for one thing.

At least he was a non-violent headcase. I can’t speak for how non-violent I’d be if someone tried to gatecrash a funeral of someone I knew and started doing really dumb shit.

If I was dead in the coffin and nutter *did* bring me back to life I’d use my second turn to promptly *kick his arse*.

Good old Pentecostal days: the Toronto Blessing. Went to see a guy from the Toronto Vineyard to see what he was like. He gave a talk about how ashamed he was that he didn’t have the guts to try raising the dead at a particularly emotional funeral he was at at his own church, saying that by refusing to do so he was letting “the fear of man” quench the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, he encouraged people at this church not to make the same mistake – don’t be afraid; big things come from bold actions. I cringed in my seat when I foresaw what his advice to the impressionable in the audience could do. It seems that Pastor Peter is of the “do boldly as I say; not as I do” camp.

You can tell when people are walking round on Lambton Quay wearing see-through underwear? Then I feel I should warn you, “The mirrors on my shoes are just there to add spangle to my tap dancing routine, officer” probably isn’t going to fly…

And while we’re at it, another warning. Given that not wearing underwear at all and hopping out of a low-slung car is a sure path to publicity for those who’ll do anything to be popular – just ask Brittney Spears or Anne Hathaway – next time you’re on Lambton Quay I would look away if a Crown limo carrying the PM pulls up beside you.
