Also with that circuit of Hagley Park with trout in the river there, you can take fishing rod, its against the rules so best go after dusk, good ducks too, though fire arms not advised there,.

The walk out to from Taylor’s mistake has just re-opened and is a great for a hot day (Sat andor Sun) because you can have a swim when you’re done.

Also recommend the crater rim walk on port Hills which gives you views over both sides (Banks P and city to Alps).

David, you should walk the circuit of both Hagleys Park (Ricc Ave inbetween), it is such a brilliant walk, borders the river, and takes an hour. You can spot trout in the river as you go.
