Griff, that philosophy is quite active today. Meaning and use change with time, which leads to ambiguity and confusion.
The irony of Cicero is that the Romans were as barbaric as those that he wanted to disassociate from.
Ethics in Rome was subordinate to political will, the civil system remains and most people just accept it.

Cicero’s homo humanus
Is not the definition of human except in an ancient philosophy. Time and understanding of both words and ideas changes.
I act too many as the barbarian at the gates, often of Rome in a literal sense…who am I then under Cicero’s philosophy?
It is of the concept good and bad it is only dependent upon the stand you take.

Griff, humans are not a species, they are Cicero’s homo humanus, a cultural group (who have a pronounced tendency to think that they are the be-all and end all of mankind). The species is homo sapiens, not homo humanus.

Of the three major religions.
Joseph Smith and L.Ron Hubbard had the best idea.
Make up there own load of tripe. Preferably one with lots of possible chance to interfere with virgins.
Its actually a good synergy with mainstream religion as the new wave actually like virgins of the opposite sex hence no clash in happy hunting grounds.

What is it with conserves and bestiality?
They seem to bring up marrying species beside humans on a frequent basis.
That and the man sex thing seems to be a overriding obsession for so many Christians.
What the hell do they do in those church things, whatever it is can not be healthy.
Maybe they actually do practice group bum sex with animals.

Ugly Truth

I don’t have much truck for any organised religion but in your 8.0pm you’ve glossed over an essential difference between Islam & Christianity or indeed Judaism. The latter two have dragged themselves into the modern world & made some effort to work around the realities of modern life.

Islam however, is stuck in a time warp (circa 800AD). They have not adapted or moved & head backward societies with primitive values.

In Islam nothing changes.
