The third bill is simply outrageous and I hope National opposes it, if they don’t they certainly aren’t right wing. Why the hell should a council get way with having illegal actions being retrospectively validated? Why should a council be bailed out when they failed in their most basic core legal duty – striking a rate? Why was no one sanctioned at all for this gross incompetence? (if it wasn’t actually deliberate fraud or misfeasence?). Why should a council be able charge a specific service rate using UDA for a service they don’t even provide? No one else would ever even dream of getting away with this, why aren’t National removing the dysfunctional elected council and CEO and putting in commissioners for a few years?

Re Q2 – surely a MP or party should not be aking the same question all of the time.
