Three Arts Spokespersons!
February 26th, 2013 at 12:00 pm by David FarrarStuff reports:
National was quick to mock Labour’s reshuffle for its many-headed arts and culture roles led by deputy leader Grant Robertson with associates Jacinda Ardern and Darien Fenton all in the top 20.
Minister Christopher Finlayson tweeted: ‘‘Surprised to see Labour appoint 3 Arts spokespeople. More surprised to learn 2 of them have been in that job for over a year now.’’
I thought this was a joke, but it seems that Arts & Culture is such a hefty portfolio Labour does in fact need three spokespersons for it – all in the shadow Cabinet.
By contrast Christchurch Earthquake Recovery doesn’t even make the shadow Cabinet.
I’ve counted up below the portfolios where Labour has more than one Spokesperson.
- Finance – 5
- Health – 4
- Arts – 3
- Foreign Affairs – 3
- Environment – 2
- Education – 2
- Economic Development – 2
- Science & Innovation – 2
- Justice – 2
- Ethnic Affairs – 2
- Social Development – 2
- Employment – 2
- Sport & Recreation – 2
- Maori Affairs – 2
- Disarmament – 2
You can understand Finance and Health having a few, but again three Arts Spokespersons is ridiculous as is needing three Foreign Affairs spokespersons plus two Disarmament spokespersons.

Not all that surprising – after all Labour is much more interested in abstract concepts than reality

The arts are where Labour wastes tonnes of tax payer funds whilst roading is where National wastes millions when few will be able to afford fuel soon.

One will be from the Rainbow Quarter – to speak up for the Kylie Minoque Fan Club.

Yep, the Crown is only on the hook for the thick end of $15 billion for the Christchurch earthquakes – why would managing that merit a role in the shadow Cabinet?

I’ve always thought that Helen Clark’s decision to take the Arts portfolio for herself had a lot to do with the almost complete lack of media scrutiny of her administration for it’s first 2 terms.

It is hard to believe that the Labour party has no leadership on Finance , [ five spokespersons ] oh God lets add Norman Russell and Winston Peters, and Jim Anderton as outside advisor

Cannot even sort out a caucus where a shadow cabinet has all the required departments properly allocated, and they think they can run a country?
A certain phrase referreing to booze-ups in breweries comes to mind!

Great and revealing photo of Shearer gazing dizzily at Jacinda in her little black dress. He’s a brave man if he let those choppers near anything he valued!
Can we now ask Annette King about what happened in her house that night with Darren Hughes and how her hubby Ray Lind is going to fit in this time round to her health portfolio?

Comrade Clark’s nefarious influence is alive and well in today’s socialist Labour Party.
Vote:Just remember the spinster was the Minister for Arts & Culture.

I await with interest to see if any of the three Arts and Culture Spokespersons will deign to comment on the emails that have just been released surrounding the filming of The Hobbit, now available for viewing on Stuff.co.nz
There’s some interesting reading there!

Seems that Trev still has enough power to only share his sports tickets with one other spokesmuppet

Folks – don’t forget the future of NZ is in growing the Arts & Culture of NZ. When Shearer takes over as the PM in 2014, entire cabinet and the Greens, NZ First MPs and Hone will be going on a tax payer funded junket to visit Vienna, the arts capital of the world. Why are you guys against Arts & Culture??

All whities, none of them represent the unique culture of the Tangata Whenua,it’s doubtful if they even understand the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Why would you want to, there is enough brown fingers in all the troughs already.
Vote:There are no principles to the treaty, just clever greedy peoples interpretation, usually structured to help line there own pockets, TOW is the biggest single hurdle standing in the way of progress in this country.
