Wogistan
February 12th, 2013 at 10:00 am by David FarrarNew Zealand First MP Richard Prosser has a column in Investigate Magazine. In his latest column he refers to certain people as coming from “Wogistan” and also declares that no young male who is a Muslim, looks like a Muslim or is from a Muslim country should be able to fly on a Western airline.
It is worth realising that these are not comments made off the cuff in an interview. A New Zealand Member of Parliament sat down and wrote a column that refers to Wogistan and calls for basically dark-skinned people (how else do you interpret look like a Muslim) not to be allowed to fly.
36,000 New Zealanders are Muslims. A New Zealand MP has said they should be banned from flying or Air New Zealand if they are male and aged 19 to 35. I’m sorry, but that is appalling.
Now before anyone says this is just political correctness, and one should be able to talk about the fact almost all airline terrorism incidents have been done by young male Muslims – I agree. I there there is an absolutely valid discussion to be held on issues such as the pros and cons of profiling, the costs of airline security, and the fact that so much terrorism is done in the name of Islam. In fact I have blogged on these issues several times.
But one can have that discussion without referring to Muslims implicitly as Wogs and without calling for Muslims to be banned from flying on Western airlines.
Some of the quotes from the article:
I will not stand by while their [his daughters'] rights and freedoms of other New Zealanders and Westerners, are denigrated by a sorry pack of misogynist troglodytes from Wogistan …
I mean seriously – effectively calling people wogs. I actually like Richard Prosser and agree with him on a few issues, but this column is seriously offensive.
If you are a young male, aged between say about 19 and about 35, and you’re a Muslim, or you look like a Muslim, or you come from a Muslim country, then you are not welcome to travel on any of the West’s airline …
When he says looks like a Muslim, does he mean look like a wog? Because let’s face it any sensible wannabee terrorist could simply wear non-religious attire if they really wanted to blow up a plane. So I can only imagine “look like a Muslim” means if you look South East Asian or Persian or Arabic or Turkish etc? Never mind that they may in fact be Christian or Hindu or anything. If they look like a Muslim, we have a Member of Parliament saying you should not be able to travel on Western airlines?
Taking Richard literally, Air New Zealand should refuse to accept any passengers from Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia etc if they are a young male. This presumably includes all the students from those countries that are students at New Zealand universities.
If the belief systems of ancient history are so important to you, and the advances of the decadent West so abhorrent, go ride a camel instead?.
Now this comment was not directed at the extremists, but at anyone who is a Muslim, looks like a Muslim or comes from a Muslim country.
Now again, there is a very legitimate debate to be had about profiling, terrorism, extreme Islamists and the like. I’ve been attacked myself for writing on some of those issues.
But never in a hundred years would I refer to Wogistan and advocate that people be barred from flying based on their appearance or country of origin. And to have a Member of Parliament deliberately write that is staggering.
Labour and the Greens are desperate to form a Government with NZ First as they know it is near impossible without them. Will any Labour or Green MP come out and state what they think of their potential coalition partner writing about Wogistan? Winston wants to be Foreign Minister again. Does he stand by the views of his MP that young men from Malaysia and Indonesia should be banned from travelling on Western airlines?
A photo of the second page of the column is below.

I think most Muslims in New Zealand come from South East Asia, and some are from Fiji. And some are Maori.
The ‘looks like’ exclusion from flying is bad enough, but it’s an impractical criteria anyway, unless Prosser really means that the airlines of ‘the West’ should only allow obviously white young males to fly – and then they may have to be careful about getting a tan on their holiday in Fiji.
And how would it be done? Anyone at an airport who doesn’t like the look of someone could have them excluded from their flight?

The best thing about this article is the author is still free to make these statements. This must really outrage the permanently outraged and they will likely use it to continue their push for speech codes.
The right to offend must be preserved at all costs.
And no, before the above mentioned self righteous get on their high horses, this is not an endorsement of Prosser’s comments.

Perhaps if the National Party had acknowledged the results of the anti-smacking referendum, got rid of the ETS and didn’t have MPs organizing gay pride parades and had stuck to promoting the core values of middle New Zealand then New Zealand First might not now have 7 mps

The term “extremist” is mentioned.
I quote the president of Turkey – “There is no extreme Islam. There is only Islam.”
Anyway – it is definitely the case that Muslim immigrants do not fit in to a country as well as other groups. This is the case all over the world.
There is no getting away from the politically-incorrect facts –
Islam is incompatible with Western values, ideals and freedoms.
The teachings of the Quran are extremely hateful and violent towards non-Muslims. Just because most Muslims don’t act on these teachings doesn’t change the fact that they exist.
Islam teaches that Muslims are “the best” of peoples, and non-Muslims are the worst.
When it comes to immigrants, I suggest that we can do a *lot* better than to take in people with those values and beliefs.

It happens often enough for me also, and I travel every second week for work (although I am a ranga not blonde).
One of my workmates has a theory, and that is that the security officers deliberately pull over white males, because they just cooperate and are easier to deal with. Middle aged women are a pain, and anyone a darker shade than tan will accuse them of profiling, but white males just let them do their thing. And if it’s true (the theory has merit at the very least) I don’t blame them, since they’ve got a pretty crap job to do and just want to go home without too many people having abused them. Without guidance from their superiors, they will choose the easy option.

Winston was only going to be able to keep his caucus under control for so long. Looks like time is up.

Scarcely a day passes without a report of some unspeakably vile behaviour from Muslim extremists or simply “rural” Muslim men horrifically abusing women. Frankly, if Muslims can’t clean up their religion they will have to live with the reputation it has earned.
February 12th, 2013 at 11:03 am
Islamisation begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious rights. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious rights, some of the other components tend to creep in as well. Here’s how it works.
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part being regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
-United States – Muslim 0.6%
-Australia – Muslim 1.5%
-Canada – Muslim 1.9%
At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytise from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:
Germany – Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom – Muslim 2.7%
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves – along with threats for failure to comply.
This is occurring in:
France – Muslim 8%
Philippines – Muslim 5%
Sweden – Muslim 5%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in: -
Guyana – Muslim 10%
India – Muslim 13.4%
Israel – Muslim 16%
After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in Ethiopia – Muslim 32.8%
At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in: -Bosnia – Muslim 40% -Chad – Muslim 53.1%
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
Albania – Muslim 70%
Malaysia – Muslim 60.4%
After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:
Egypt – Muslim 90%
Gaza – Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia – Muslim 86.1%
Iran – Muslim 98%
Iraq – Muslim 97%
100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
Afghanistan – Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia – Muslim 100%
As I said, the figures are now not fully accurate, but the general sense of how this process works is nicely contained in this piece of information.
February 12th, 2013 at 11:03 am
Prosser is an idiot, but it shows the pitfalls of the political party system where there just (inthis case) aren’t enough bright people prepared to take up a cause for which they will be pilloried by liberals, the left and those who benefit from immigration.
Vote:David farrar picks on Prosser but is deafly silent on the gov’s own Savings Working Group who blame the high cost of housing on immiigration and tax nreaks for property investors.

You’re quite right TC; we already take 750 refugees a year, as we should. And any refugees that we take via Australia will be part of that quota, not in addition to it.
But trying to get the likes of V2 to a fact like that is futile. He/she would far rather rant and rave that civilisation as we know it is ending. Oddly enough, providing a new home for those who experience persecution or oppression in their own country is precisely what a civilised country and responsible global citizen such as New Zealand does, and long may that continue.

2) We are not anti-Pakeha because not only do we have Pakeha Muslim Convert Members but ALLAH SWT created Adam the Father of Humanity and all Nations are Brothers and Sisters.
3) I do not condone the actions of the Chechen Muslims in Beslan but we are aware of their struggle against communist Russia.
4) I do not convert Inmates to Islam but I do speak to inmates who have converted.
5) We are not militant but we are confrontational in the defense of Islam and Muslims.
and lastly:

Interesting – Australian housing prices are also driven significantly by net population increase via immigration. There is a little bit of pushback coming from a recent party as the major parties don’t offer any choice.
“The Stable Population Party is a sustainability party with a major focus on population – the critical issue ignored by other parties. Our grassroots community party formed in 2010 to give all Australians a choice on population and therefore the sustainability of the environment, economy and quality of life we enjoy and pass on.
Population growth is already causing or exacerbating all of Australia’s major problems. A stable population will, among many other positive things:…
73% of Australians support our stable population target of around 26m by 2050, not the Coalition / Labor / Greens / Katter policy outcome of around 36-40m and rising. Powerful business lobby groups are pushing for this rapid population (customer) growth. But our grassroots community party echoes the voice of the people. Why? We won’t resolve any of Australia’s (or the world’s) major problems until we first resolve ‘the everything issue’.”

Exactly. We saw this with the massacre at Fort Hood.

A local Muslim interviewed was asked what he thought of terrorist attacks occurring elsewhere at the time. He said they had come here to get away from that sort of thing. Common justice dictates only the guilty or those likely to be guilty should be targetted.

Well all that article confirms is that NZ First MP’s aren’t too bright, no surprises there, and that some people (those who agree with this point of view) dress up their racism by claiming that they are against intolerant religious sects.
Being Muslim is like being Christian, Jewish, or believing in the Tooth Fairy – it’s not a matter of ethnicity or nationality, it’s a belief system.
Just because I’m a white European doesn’t mean I’m Christian and believe in mythical imaginary beings, no more that being born in, say, Pakistan means you’re Muslim – they have Christians there too, and people who don’t believe in imaginary beings and their ‘teachings’.
If people lingering at the lower end of the bell curve knew their facts they’d know that some people who have committed terrorism on planes were white people who converted to Islam – so how the hell they think that ethnic profiling would stop planes being bombed I don’t know – but hey, why let the facts get in the way of their ignorant prejudices!
I guess it’d be pointless to expect some people to realise they’re really no different from the people they claim to want to protect us from – intolerance leads to extremism and it don’t matter what colour your skin is.
Or as Yoda so aptly put it; “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.”

Winston knew about Prosser’s article three weeks ago and has given a very weak response when questioned about it. He didn’t say Prosser was wrong in what he said, just that he made a mistake because he didn’t have “the balance in the other side of the argument.”
This must just about exclude any chance of National or Labour considering NZ First for inclusion a Government coalition.

Interestingly enough, “WOG” came from an instruction (British Army in India, I think) that the locals were to be treated as “worthy oriental gentlemen.” A case of “you can drag a horse to water, but … ” sort of syndrome.)
Irrespective, however, isn’t it fascinating that the main thrust of most of the above comments has wandered far from the actual substance of the Wogistan item into almost unrelated utterances which owe much of their substance to the matchlessly absurd delineations of “PC?”
In these idiot times, no one ever recounts the old saw about “sticks and stones” – instead, those affected seek to portray their greatest possible affront to a generation all but completely ga-ga in its ability to comprehend what’s rational – let alone understand it.
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 3:30 pm
Ryan you’re free to believe whatever fairy tales you like. I prefer to believe things that are based on verifiable observation and fact than magic fairy tales from thousands of years ago.
Fairy tales have nothing to do with somebody’s sense of what’s right and wrong, since there are plenty of religious people who do awful things and plenty of people who aren’t who are good people.
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 3:34 pm
There’s nothing about verifiable observation that makes nationality a competitor in the realm of personal morality.
I don’t follow your logic there. Why would fairy tales/religions having something to do with people’s sense of right and wrong mean that no religious people do anything wrong?
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 3:39 pm
Your argument was about nationality vs “personal beliefs of what is right and wrong” and specifically referred to religion. My point is that religion has nothing to do with right and wrong, because people still have a sense of right and wrong in its absence.
Never said there was.
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 3:43 pm
Does vegetarianism have nothing to do with what people eat, because non-vegetarians still choose what they eat?
Religions both express and inform people’s personal sense of right and wrong. Just because they don’t have a monopoly on morality, doesn’t mean they’re unrelated.
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 3:50 pm
Using your logic, vegetarians would be the only people who eat vegetables. They don’t, most people eat vegetables whether they’re vegos or not.
You don’t need a fairy tale to tell you what’s right or wrong and religion does not have a monopoly on it.
Religion requires one to believe in things so unrealistic that any sane and rational adult would laugh at were it not shoved down their throats from birth.

There’s a hell of a lot of things that any sane and rational adult would laugh at were it not held up as science. But as soon as some scientist says they’ve proved xyz, most adults accept it as fact, despite the slight problem that they couldn’t begin to explain it, or the relevance, or indeed understand the methods used to prove it.
Do you believe that life can exist without oxygen or light? Sounds pretty unrealistic to me, but scientists have discovered samples of previously unknown species of bacteria swimming around in Lake Vida which supports this theory. So most people don’t even think about it, they just go, “Well if scientists say it’s so, then it must be.”
Vote:February 12th, 2013 at 5:19 pm
Yes, but that’s because most people understand that if scientists are saying such a thing that its because they have evidence to back up their claim.

I don’t get this.
Sure, it would be bad if ‘free speech’ was nobbled.
Context is everything, though. If you’re an MP and you make statement like this in a publication then it’s a completely different kettle of fish to some random laugh by Joe Bloggs in your private backyard across the BBQ on a Friday.
If a relgious war started from an article that was otherwise classified under the ‘right to offend’ then a whole bunch of people would all of sudden change their minds, I would suspect.
Which is why laws like this exist, to stop hatred and hurt. Not to stop anyone saying what they feel. And, if they thought about it for more than two seconds, they could say what they felt in a controlled fashion without having to resort to calling someone a wog.

Pollywog posted at 2.02
Unless Pollywog was being ironic, and assuming that Middle Eastern types don’t regard themselves as “white” (most do), there is still far more abuse and mistreatment of young girls and boys in a fundamentalist Muslim country like Afghanistan than in any Western “white” country.
Note that Paul Joseph Dally, refused parole today in his sentence for raping and burying alive a young Wellington girl is certainly not “white” in the generally accepted sense.(link below)
However, as pointed out before on Kiwiblog, the concept of race is questionable, and the notion of “white” is even more questionable. North China and Japan (and perhaps Korea, too) have many people with porcelain white skins, paler than you typically see among European New Zealanders. Some olive-skinned Mediterranean types usually regarded as “white” are browner than those many bigots and liberals would classify as “non-white”. Such pale-skinned people who spring to mind are Pushtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Baluchi, Iranians, Kurds, the Brahmin and many other peoples of northern India. Even in New Zealand it is becoming harder to distinguish by skin colour those who identify as Maori from those who identify as European.
Fuck it, skin colour is about getting Vitamin D from sunlight. Those who live in cooler climates for millennia become pale skinned, with the notable exception of Eskimo, who get most of their vitamin D from whale, seal, and walrus blubber, which is vitamin D saturated fat. Since Eskimo began adopting Western style diets they are suffering disproportionately from immune-system related diseases. Their brown-yellow skin evolved to filter sunlight and so reduce vitamin D overdoses from the blubber diet. Now that they need vitamin D from sunlight, their skin colour makes this harder to get.
Also, “Wog” has always been a rather vague term of abuse. Its only decades since jokes in the UK included: “the wogs begin at Calais”.

David. Kindly refer to Muslim majority countries and not Muslim countries. To say the latter gives the pretext for Muslims to discriminate against everyone else – Hindus, Jews, Christians including Catholics. Religion is not a fix thing but changeable so don’t deny people the opportunity to change codes. There is no such thing as a Muslim country. Recall in history that before 600BC, or when ever the man they call a prophet was born, the religion of peace didn’t exist.

I find the outrage expressed and finger pointing here to be quite amusing. Prosser has deliberately written something highly provocative to get noticed. Regrettably it is a very effective method for fringe parties to increase their profile and their vote. And it works. Peters will be quite happy too.
The other thing that amuses me is the indignation that the two main LoC parties seem mute in response to such a provocative article. National might yet have to woo NZF next year

Then point to other non-muslim countries who have the same levels of statistics. eg, does Canada, Brazil, Korea & Cuba have indigenous or immigrant minorities who ask for their own law?……widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare?……….hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues?……..some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide?

Alan,
All three Abrahamic religions are used as means to political ends. In Islam’s case the Muslim brotherhood is responsible for the abuse of women, as such abuse contradicts the teachings of the Quran. In Christianity’s case the political aspect is the Westminster system, and severe abuse can be seen of children by the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in the case of the Canadian residential school genocide. The political aspect of Judaism is Zionism, with the specific crimes of the Lavon Affair and the attack on the USS Liberty being more overt examples of it’s abuse of power.
To describe abuse as an interpretation of kindness stretches the meaning of the interpretation beyond breaking point IMO.

I really think we need to wait for the response from the diplomatic legation from Wogistan. Perhaps they need our help to join the United Nations, get a loan from the IMF? We also need to make arrangements for the arrival of hundreds of newly alerted tourists from Wogistan, who hope to see what opportunities for a Sharia super state are on offer here. We need to have a live feed from the Wogistan parliament, to see what their leaders think.
We could offer Prosser the job of Ambassador to Wogistan, an upward step from life on the fringes as a list MP. The people of Wogistan are no doubt grateful that finally attention is being paid to their proud nation, which seems very difficult to locate on my Atlas.
