Well done, David. The next million won’t take nearly as long if Labour and The Greens are in charge from next year.

And what statistical analysis can we expect?
Average number of comments per post for each year Kiwiblog has been running?
The date of the most ‘furious’ posting – and what event/topic it coincided with?
    Any posts with no comments?

Congratulations! Your extraordinary efforts over many years to shine light where there would otherwise be darkness deserves gratitute from all of us commenters and readers. Few people stop to think about the mega-hours you put in to this, or the sh*t you have to deal with as a result. Thank you.

Congratulations DPF, that is something to be very envious of! I am pretty sure I have commented more on your blog than I have had comments on mine (22)!

Excellent! With a 100% of postings opinionated bullshit, things cannot get any better.

The number of comments is the end result, but at least as notable is 25,748 posts, a huge effort. Keeping a blog going for so long with so much daily content and the amount of interest it generates is massive.

Very well done David. Without you, we are nothing here.

Without blogs and their comments section there would be very little real criticism of the left in New Zealand.

The mainstream media filters news and opinion so that it favours the left, and that is why we needed the internet and why blogs became popular.

One million comments and probably around 90% would not have been published in any mainstream media outlet.

Kiwiblog is a welcome antidote to the anti-democratic intent of NZ’s leftist controlled mainstream media (generally TVNZ and TV One, TV3, The NZ Herald and the Dominon Post.)

The left though are always working to shut down any medium that threatens their political and social ascendancy.

I wonder if the next million comments will be made with the same unguarded exuberance and enthusiasm as the first million.

Outstanding Slim Dave. You are a legend and the Kiwiblog content and quality “just keeps getting better’. Best wishes for the first/next “10″ Million!

An unusually good comment from Redbaiter, good to see him a fan of Kiwiblog again after huffing off a while ago.

But it’s not just a left media versus right blogs. Media needs scrutiny and taking to task from across the blog spectrum.

And this NZ Herald promo of their own John Armstrong shows that neither the left nor right are happy with what the media doesn’t do for them:

New Zealand’s best columnist, the Herald’s John Armstrong, has been labelled both “a Labour lackey and a National toady”.

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/politics/news/article.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=10883716

The Standard has been very critical of the rightishness of Armstrong and in fact the NZ Herald in general. So complaints about media bias come from both sides of extreme politics.

Well done DPF. As a fellow but far lesser blogger than yourself, I know how much time and effort goes in to providing what you do. Keep up the sterling work.

Nice to see you at the weekend BTW, even if you are a mere shadow of your former self :D

Congratulations David and thankyou for providing a forum for all to make their points. You don’t have to agree with them but to use the hackneyed cliche “but I’ll defend their right to make them”! For me it is what I learn from the posts and my own freedom to agree or disagree with the opinions of others. None of us has a mortgage on being always right.

I look forward to you announcing the next milestone – whatever it is you set for yourself and for us your blog followers.

Obviously a good site is one that engages readers, not one that just has a lot of views
