A history of the Labour Party

June 27th, 2013 at 1:00 pm by David Farrar

yesterday gave a very amusing (and accurate) history of the Party.

While talking about all the previous leaders who have been undermined by their colleagues he amusingly refers to Geoffrey Palmer being most undermined by “Geoffrey just being Geoffrey” :-)

UPDATE: The video was on autoplay. This was not intended. I just embedded the Herald video, and for some reason they like forcing people to view videos. I have now swapped the embed code for the You Tube version.

    I rather liked this line:

“People co-operate to get rid of one leader so that they can turn on the next one.”

Does anyone REALLY believe that Labour’s caucus would unite if Shearer was to be rolled?

Very well said. Witty and direct. Well done, Mr Finlayson.

Mr Finlayson is a very smart guy who is in no doubt equally aware of the history of the National Party.

Marshall – Muldoon – Jim McClay – Boldger – Shipley – English – Brash – Key. Undermining leaders is ceratinly not a trait unique to the Labour Party.

Priceless – especially having been on the inside of Labour during knifings and attempted knifings from 1989 – 1996!

SW, the difference is, that’s its actually one of the tenets of the Labour party and probably in their Union Constitution. Isn’t the ‘red flag’ semaphore for “the leader has been knifed”?
