I love these guys. They are so confident and boisterous.
Saw a pair recently in the Wellington Botanical Gardens by the top of the cable car. Delightful.
Yeah- most NZ forest birds are quite shy and secretive. These guys are a much bolder.
Wellington is lucky to have a thriving population.
These were a real local feature when we lived in Kelburn and then Karori. I love the way they “talk” to each other as they fly along in their flocks…
