LRC, I have a trick for running into the wind. I think of it forcing air into my lungs like a turbo charger, making me stronger and faster. I think the effect is largely psychological 🙂

hmmokrightitis, pretty much all my running is off road now days. I hardly run at all on the flat.

Have you tried any of the those minimalist shoes ? I have some and find them very good.

If I wasn’t- I’d have to actually **drive** the fucking pieces of shit. That’s a world of pain right there. Every day. Driving a bus in Wellington. Every single fucking day. You might as well be dead. That’s almost as boring as running all day long. Maybe you’d get a religious high from driving a bus?

12 hours would be fucking quick… 16 would be not quite as fast but when you’re talking about 100 fucking kms…. just finishing 100kms in 24 hours is ‘fast’.

Ultra runners are cool, cheesy stereotype ultra runners that don’t know why their body ‘responds to gruyere cheese’- sheesh give me a fuckin break.

And then the whole ‘religious experience’.. solving the riddle of the ‘meaning and purpose of life’ through running all day crap… and then… ‘if you’re not some knob that does this all day long you can shut up cause you don’t know shit’ rubbish. Far out. Wank wank wank wank wank wank wank wank wank wank. Ultra runner good. Ultra wankfest bad.

You do it because you love it. You sure you’re not just in it for the ‘transcendentalness’ factor?

Do you know why I run? Vanity. That’s it mate. I’m still enjoying the novelty of not being the same shape as your average fuckwit gormless overeating fat cunt Westerner bus driving retard.

Hey- I’m glad running gives you a high and makes you feel at one with the universe.
