Whether you agree with them dishing out movement data on journalists and MPs or not surely a basic requirement is that they record who accesses and dishes out what data.

Shearer has already looked to be on borrowed time as Labour’s leader. He has failed to fire.

But his slow and soft reaction to the man ban issue – and criticism of him for letting it become an issue in the fist place – has raisd major questions about his lack of leadership.

The ‘man ban’ issue has become a focus on a bleeder leader. Shearer looks to be mortally wounded.

It’s possible Shearer may have grown into a competent leader if he had the backing of a united party and sufficient assistance to compensate for his lack of experience in politics.

But instead the combination of an unlikely leader and a dysfunctional factional party loaded with selfish has beens must surely reach it’s inevitable conclusion soon.

The Labour Party looks to be in a bloody mess. Waiting until they have 50% female MPs may be far too late to rescue it.

Unles Labour comes up with a new leader who surprises everyone with their currently hidden ability, and unless the Labour transforms into a team with the good of the party and the country paramount, then the blood will simply switch to a different carcass.

This “man ban” beat up should open eyes to how far and pernicious the ridiculous womens rights issue has taken us on our glorious road to “equality”.

I think it’s hilarious that avowedly progressive commentators are using a “progressive” tool to beat Labour with when they have supported even more ludicrous issues such as marriage equality.

And National themselves want more women in key positions,why?To show how “progressive and diverse ” they are?

Rape claim made for ‘revenge’

She had caused the injuries to her body herself when they argued and she “lost it”.

… she lied to police because she wanted revenge. She had plenty of time to concoct the story of what happened.

This will be counted for statistical purposes as a “rape” and by feminists groups in their on going push to lower the standards of evidence, to guilty by accusation. They continually bemoan the lack of convictions, but include false complaints in their figures.

Dime is really enjoying the sacking of Deans. He was garbage from the start. A 58% winning record. I think I could coach the Wallabies to that.

The downside, he comes home, coaches a super rugby team to the semis and the cantabs demand he becomes all blacks coach.. he gets the job, drops most of our experienced players and we become mediocre. urgh.

What the “man ban” overlooks is the primacy of ideas versus personnel. We need a women’s voice for women’s issues but women’s issues aren’t 50% of politics. The “man ban” is an attempt to select the right people as the Greens are doing with “te tiritti”. Chris Trotter describes the left’s adoption of “te tiritti” as “the litmus test of authentic revolutionary praxis”

Pete George, yes false complaints and ones not upheld (after a trial) are used to inflate rape statistics. The people you have aligned yourself with go one step further and want the standards of evidence lowered to convict more men. When a man is found, not guilty, they assume guilt anyway and use it as evidence of a “rape culture”.

Given that we agree rape is a serious allegation, what penalty do you think the lying bitch should get for trying to destroy that mans life ?

Because the prosecution is still trying to portray her as a “victim”. She should have been dragged from the Court and thrown in the cells right there and then.

There should be mandatory sentencing [for false complaints] of the maximum penalty available had the charges been proved against the accused. On top of that, an additional penalty reflecting the seriousness of rape. Any charges not upheld in Court, should be assumed to be falsely laid.

That should dramatically improve our bullshit rape statistics overnight.

Given that we agree rape is a serious allegation, what penalty do you think…

I don’t know much about the facts of the case, nor do I know anything about what sentences are available, nor precedents in sentencing, so I don’t know.

But my starting point would be that her sentence should be in the same vicinity as for the crime she alleged. A false claim of rape must be potentially as damaging to someone as a rape. The only difference (that may need to be accounted for) is that no physical assault is involved.

The story states she withdrew her complaint not long after she made it.

It is not her (at this time) that should be dragged from the court and incarcerated but the pigs who have forced the matter to go to trial at our expense.

Those bastards are stealing our money!

The defendant may be (probably is) scum of the earth but they should get him on a proper charge, not a made-up one.

The people who should be prosecuting her will try and portray her as a “victim”. The NZ justice system is there to punish men, not women. Women get very very different outcomes, given similar facts, in NZ Courts. People who deny that are either ignorant or lying to you.

Cue some wanker saying I am all bitter and twisted because…. blah blah blah. Well the reality is I have never been involved with the Courts as a defendant or accused of any crime. Ever. But I have seen hundreds who have and it makes me angry to see how men are treated by out joke of a justice system. It is nothing more than institutionalised misandry.

Longknives, some people just don’t get it. Punishing innocent men does nothing to prevent rape and diminishes the wrong suffered by real victims. I am not soft on rape or anti women, I am just hard on justice and fair treatment. Some people are too busy grinding their axes to see that.

I could soften my message a bit, but I think, why should I ? The most extreme views of anti male feminists are given voice in the msm, so why should I, dress-it-up, on a private blog ?

Rape statistics are taken from convictions for rape. Should those convictions be overturned, then they are removed from the statistics.

However, there are some community groups who construct their statistics using ‘reported’ rapes, (not just those reported to police, but can be to hospitals, doctors etc) It is believed that some rapes do not get reported to the police for a variety of reasons.

Therefore, whilst the official statistics will not be effected by this case, it is possible that unofficial stats will still involve the incident.

Regarding the woman. She has defamed someone, wasted police time, and if signed a statement, perjured herself. I hope charges have been laid, or at least are pending.

The Government has proposed cutting $10 million in funding for climate change research in a move described as disheartening for New Zealand’s highly capable climate scientists.

Treasury documents showed that Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy has recommended scaling back funding for Climate Change Research Grants by $2 million in the next financial year, $3.75 million in 2014/15 and $4.25 million in 2015/16.

Approximately 80%of the cost of a house these days is either imported or the cost is relative to international prices. So, house build inflation will zoom away as will house prices.
What we have currently have has not kept pace with long term price adjustments to housing. Long term property prices rise per 7-10 years by 12.5% a year. Been going on for centuries. So buy now.

Well there’s a possibility the woman was actually raped, but as often happens in cases of domestic abuse, the abused party withdraws the complaint for what ever reason.

Fact is, she withdrew the complaint a month later, but the police still chose to prosecute. Why?

There are many reasons why complaints are withdrawn. Sometime the woman does not want to go through the arduous legal process, some times they have obviously lied, other times they just want to get on with life, and forget about it, and of course, sometimes it is due to threat or fear that they withdraw their claim.

The fact the police are pursuing the case means there must be evidence that indicates they have reason to suspect a crime was committed. Without knowing more about the circumstances, its anyone’s guess what that evidence might be.

Re false rape / assault claims. There is also the possibility that the rape / assault did in fact take place as in the original complaint. But that in an unbalanced power relationship the complainant recants to prevent the other party going to jail for a long time. And takes on a lighter sentence instead, or maybe no sentence if a convincing victim. We are unlikely to ever know the specific dynamics of this case, except that there will be a victim here one way or the other.

Aah the old ‘Where there is smoke there is fire’ argument.
Why do people find it so bloody hard to believe that there are women out there who are are vindictive, nasty liars who make up stories?

In my friend’s ‘case’ the female complainant finally confessed to Police that she made it all up so her boyfriend wouldn’t get angry with her for cheating.
Even after this she was given ‘counselling’ and Victim Support from Police.
My friend on the other hand got nothing. No apology, no reimbursement of his legal bills (tens of thousands of dollars), no counselling (even after he tried to commit suicide)
To this day he has not been the same person. He even avoids his old friend’s weddings/birthdays etc as the shame/humiliation is still there..
Nasty,nasty business false complaints- An Elephant in the Room that is is not ‘Politically Correct’ to talk about….

Yes it does happen, and it is disgusting, because not only does it allow innocent people to be accused of crimes they did not commit, it also means that genuine rape victims get given a hard time – just because of the actions of some unscrupulous woman.

It is a dreadful ordeal for a man to go through, who is innocent, because mud sticks, and the system is mostly geared to offer support to victims, not false perpetrators.

I think it is a matter of finding balance. Rape does occur, all too frequently, just as false accusations are made too often as well. One should not be allowed to reflect on the other.

It is not unusual for complainants to recant after making a complaint. Sometimes it is because the complaint was false, sometimes because the accused or his family have put pressure on to withdraw a genuine complaint. Before proceeding as far as a trial the Crown and Police will have considered very carefully whether the recantation might be genuine, and if there is doubt they will not proceed. If, however, the recantation seems to have been coerced and there is other independent evidence to support the allegation, the public interest will require the trial to proceed, regardless of what the complainant may say. She may say in evidence that the complaint was false; if there is enough other evidence the jury may nevertheless find that the accused is guilty. There’s always a lot more to these cases than 3 paragraphs on Stuff.

But all joking aside, I have seen false accusations destroy marriages, families and lives. Unfortunately they have become a tool in marriage separations, where one party does not want another to see the children as well. These things have devastating consequences that reach beyond the term of any prison sentence. The stigma lasts forever, regardless if found guilty or not.

On the Pike River trial and the judges comments that somebody has got to pay.
Watching this case and her summation on TV I was appalled that this judge obviously was totally biased and emotional.
She should have stood herself down at least, as she obviously could not mentally or physically cope.

Her comments, supported by the Herald, and the Labour caucus, today support that the taxpayer should pay are a disgrace also.
It has been supported that the Directors and the Shareholders should pay her judgement.

Let’s assume that a company in which your Kiwisaver has a share collapses, will you support paying your share of the judgement ?

Thought not – stupid judgement. Needs to be appealed, but that would only cost more money which is not available.

Even after this she was given ‘counselling’ and Victim Support from Police.
My friend on the other hand got nothing. No apology, no reimbursement of his legal bills (tens of thousands of dollars), no counselling (even after he tried to commit suicide)

Yep, serious offending gets counselling. Women in Saudi Arabia have more equality under the law than men do in NZ.

I have seen a woman who attacked her husband in a way that required hospital treatment, smashed up his car and smashed up a motel. She was given “help” by the Judge. That same day he gave 300 hours community work & ordered $14.00 reparation, to a guy who got angry and hit a counter top with his fist (no damage), kicked a speaker (no damage) and pulled the fridge door so hard it caused $14.00 of damage to the handle. The Judge added it was very serious offending and told him he is going to prison if it happens again ! I saw all of this with my own eyes.

It would seem that the people at Wikipedia don’t share Roger Brooking’s concerns.

Speaking to Fairfax, Brooking admitted he had no proof but was concerned about the changes and the fact he had been banned from editing Wikipedia.

And,

Gadfium said Brooking was blocked from editing because of concerns about bias and because he was also operating anonymous accounts, something which is not allowed.

It’s no wonder Judith Collins remained silent.

The time had come & the Maori family had to put their grandfather
in a resthome. All the Maori Catholic facilities were
completely full so they had to place him in an Anglican home.

Performance improvement isn’t rocket science and you DO NOT NEED TO PAY QC rates to get a simple thing like a building consents process “improved.”

And the article says the plan is to pay this dude that rate every single day till the end of the year. No mention of how much his associates from his “40 employee” consultancy are going to be charging.

Someone is seriously fucked in the head if they think it costs that much and takes that long to get a consultant in to reduce cycle time whilst maintaining acceptable defect rates, whatever those defect rates happen to be set at. Like I say, IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE AND IT DOESN’T TAKE QC RATES TO GET THE JOB DONE. Especially this particular job.

I smell a Fat Bastard in the background here, spreading his wisdom around the place as he is wont to do.

Read on, and I discover that it’s not quite that bad. Oh surprise. Turns out that there were simply no female Labour MPs asking questions in Parliament today. PG opines that this is “indicative of party whips (presumably) leaning more towards males, today at least.”

Or maybe it’s simply how the roster worked out Pete. Maybe the female MPs had important work to do in their electorates, or were otherwise engaged. Do you think that’s possible?

Pete, this beat-up of a headline really does you no favours. You appear to be trying desperately to manufacture something out of nothing.

$2K/day? around $200/hr? a medium level lawyer/engineer/surveyor charges that.
Including margin on material I have done wayyy better than that and not faced anything like the scrutiny this guy will be under.

Exceptions for me are Peter Williams, Rachel Smalley…. who else do I think is any good at all? Struggling… John Campbell is an odd one for me. I really like him and yet he’s a totally unwatchable cretin.

You see the field reporters waving their arms around like retards. Where’s the orchestra mate? I don’t see one ya fuckin gimp. Does someone from on high actually tell them to wave their arms around to ‘add something’ to the pompous badly put-on vocal style?

There’s a young bloke that reads sport on TV3… and man to me he looks *weird*. If I watch him… it’s to stare at the oddness and then he becomes too much and I’ve got to get rid of him. I’m just realising now… he look a wee bit like Clive James. But Clive has a massive brain and is highly likeable…. so his mug doesn’t matter much.
