One of the five pools at the Bellagio. You can reserve a chair for the day, and of course poolside service. So spent most of last two days here as too hot during the day to do anything else. Around 38 degrees.

This is at the New York New York casino. All the shops are in mall style. Made money on both Blackjack Split (up 100%) and Roulette (up 25%).

Entree at Bellagio. Yum. Very reasonably priced also.

The Bellagio Fountains from our room.

The main swimming pool.

The Bellagio Conservatory

A chocolate fountain at Bellagio.

The Yanks know how to do tackiness, don’t they? Enjoy glitzy Vegas, DPF.

    David,
Do the blackjack dealers have to hit on soft 17?
I have seen that on an Indian reservation in Oregon.
Do the even money shots go into jail on roulette when a nought comes up?
I have seen that in a casino in Kenya.
Do the roulette wheels have two noughts? If so, avoid them.

DPF roughin’ it in a camper. For those of us back home roughin’ the Southerly lashings, there is justice – he’s only allowed to eat alpha alpha all trip.

I love the States but unfortunately the buffets, huge portions (been to the Cheesecake factory?),and things like chocolate fountains aren’t conducive to pulling on the speedos and hitting the pool!
I always whack on about 5kg in my first week in the States…

    Enjoy David!

A beautiful hotel – the opposite of tacky whatever Manolo thinks.
And that fabulous food – generous, delicious and always brilliant service.

RRM You don’t know what you are missing for sheer fun and enjoyment. You’d have to be a real Grinch not to have a good time there.

A highlight for me is being allowed to carry open containers of alcohol. Yes, it probably sounds like I have a problem, but it’s great when walking down the strip on a hot day to be able to go into almost any shop, get a 500ml can for a couple of bucks and keep moving (don’t stop though, security\police will be on you in a flash if you sit on a park bench and have a beer).

It’s the little things in life sometimes.

I love Las Vegas, have been there twice in the last 5 years and hope to go again.

You’ll find slightly different rules in different casino’s for the likes of Blackjack but most are more beneficial to the player than what Skycity Auckland will give you!

I’m sure that New York New York rollercoaster aggravated some back issues. Either that or the kg I put on.

It’s amazing what having few rules does. You treat people like adults and they behave like adults. Despite the liberal alcohol rules you see very little trouble on the strip. We could learn something from that in New Zealand.

The House Edge increases by 0.20% if they have to draw on Soft 17, so it is bad for the player.
