Russel Norman is calling for a boycott of a CHOGM in Sri Lanka alongside Jan Logie’s ‘fact finding’ mission there. This raises some important questions. I have asked him which countries he would boycott, so far no response.

How could Norman carry out the duties of a Deputy Prime Minister or Acting Prime Minister with his well known views on other countries like China?

What sickens me as well is that these young males should have such a low view of women. It says a lot about our culture that these young men believe that other human beings exist for their pleasure or “sport”. In some way these young men are also victims of a warped patriarchal culture that should leave us all feeling cold. Michael has a very interesting life story and an interesting dude but is way off course with this one. These young guys are too stupid to breath and just need a fucking good hiding but they are the exception not the rule so lets have no knee jerk over this.

He should also realise teenagers don’t have humanity to loose, they are selfish and in their mid to late teens barely qualify as human

Given that their party is always raving on about the evils of technology and the need to ‘save the planet’ and that the only way to get to Sri Lanka from NZ is by air, has anyone in the MSM yet thought to ask these individuals about how their use of nasty aviation fuel (which is of course made from the evil OIL) and nasty MINED metals in their aeroplane, will affect the ozone layer and the environment?

Pete ,I would have absolutely no problem in doing it for the watery like yourself in our society,you moan about the issue and wont do anything about it. The reason these little pricks have been allowed to get away with this behaviour is because of touchy feely nobs who will not confront an issue. They would piss all over you and you would thank them , give them $10 for the pleasure and give them a lift home. Thats showing them isn’t it?

Paul – you have no idea what I have and haven’t done about “it”. I’ve experienced brining up five teenagers – successfully, with no violence. I’ve been active in anti violence initiatives. I initiated and ran a youth group centre. For example.

I know of someone who did stupid things when he was a teenager and was given “fucking good hidings”.

Until these guys experience some fear themselves their behaviour will not change .

His behaviour did change. He did even more stupid stuff. He became a drug addict. He became a petty criminal (under the influence). He eventually overdosed. His teenage daughter found him with a needle still in his arm. I was with his mother (my sister) when she got the news he had died.

I was looking at Facebook this morning- An ‘acquaintance’ (who has political views that differ rather greatly from mine) has posted the ‘Police Rape’ cartoon. He thinks it is “brilliant”, “hilarious” and is rambling on about “the importance of Freedom of Speech” etc etc

Interestingly this is the exact same guy who was absolutely fucking teeing off about the Nisbet ‘Breakfast in Schools’ cartoon earlier in the year- In that case the “racist pig” cartoonist should have been “charged with hate crimes” apparently…

Is it just me or are lefty activist-types just the most insanely massive hypocrites??

Pauleastbay – your inference is wide of the mark. I wasn’t there when that was happening. On one occasion older brother stepped in to stop it. I didn’t find out until years later. Family violence is often kept in house as a family’s shame. I thought you might know about things like that.

You suggested the ‘Roast Busters’ be given a ‘fucking good hiding’. Do you think it’s time for this sort of last resort violence vigilante ‘justice’? Oddly you also said “so lets have no knee jerk over this”.

NZ is shaping up to be a money-laundering, tax-dodging haven with its lax controls on foreign registered companies.

I’m not talking about the big investors who own factories and increasingly what used to be our farms, but the hundreds of little foreign companies which haven’t been filing accounts, and which National seems to be making things a little easier for. These tiny companies are nearly always inactive in NZ except using it for a respectable address and often, probably for other nefarious cover.

National should consider changing the party name from National to International.

Anti-semitism was already strong and rampant in some of these European countries way before any muslim immigration. Hungary e.g. has always had a strong anti-semitic movement as well as France. Anti-semitic muslim immigrants merely found fertile ground and many, mostly christian right wing, sympathisers in Europe.

Pretending that the rise in antisemitism in Europe is merely due to Muslim immigration is naive at worst, intellectually dishonest and disceptive at worst.

Christians still being slaughtered in Syria by Jihadists, but the Western Media won’t report it.

“Slaughter in Syria: 45 Christians Killed by Islamists in Sadad and Thrown into Mass Graves,” CatholicOnline reported on November 5. The facts of the case are obvious from the rebels’ own shockingly gruesome footage ( here with English subtitles ) and from the government forces’ initial video report after liberating the town (viewer discretion advised). As The Tablet reported on the same day, civilians unable to escape – including the elderly, disabled, women and children—were subjected to death by torture, including strangulation. The bodies of six members of a single Christian family, aged 16 to 90, were found in a well, prompting the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregory III to ask, “How can somebody do such inhumane and bestial things to an elderly couple and their family? I do not understand why the world does not raise its voice against such acts of brutality.”

Sadad, a town of 15,000 mostly Syriac Orthodox people, is on the strategically important road from Damascus to Homs. It is mentioned in the Old Testament books of Numbers and Ezekiel. Most of its 15 churches have been destroyed or looted during the week-long jihadist reign of terror (October 21-28), most prominently the Church of St Theodore which the jihadists from Al Qaeda’s Nusra Front used as a base.

The initial detailed report, accompanied by graphic images, came out of Syria on October 31. “What happened in Sadad is the most serious and biggest massacre of Christians in Syria in the past two years and a half,” Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh, Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and Hama, told Fides on November 1:

Forty-five innocent civilians were martyred for no reason, and among them several women and children, many thrown into mass graves. Other civilians were threatened and terrorized: thirty were wounded and ten are still missing. For one week, 1,500 families were held as hostages and human shields, among them children, the elderly, the young, men and women… All the houses of Sadad were robbed and property looted. The churches are damaged and desecrated, deprived of old books and precious furniture. Schools, government buildings, municipal buildings have been destroyed, along with the post office, the hospital and the clinic. What happened in Sadad is the largest massacre of Christians in Syria and the second in the Middle East, after the one in the Church of Our Lady of Salvation in Iraq, in 2010.

“We have shouted aid to the world but no one has listened to us,” the Archbishop concluded. “Where is the Christian conscience? Where is human consciousness? Where are my brothers? I think of all those who are suffering today in mourning and discomfort. We ask everyone to pray for us.”

There was an interesting 3 way debate on Al Jazera (yeah I know) between a secular Syrian woman in London,an Arab journalist from Saudi and a Persian uni guy.

The Persian made constant references to fatwas issued from Saudi A and Quatar whereby “certain sect members are to be killed and their women taken”.

The Arab didn’t deny it and did acknowledge such fatwas.

The west (Obama,Cameron and Hollande) support the sunni “insurgents” the very people who have gone to Syria with religious edicts supporting killing men and “taking” their women.

The western media remain silent in the face of a modern Islamic war of annihilation ,straight out of the Koran,a book we are constantly told is about respect,tolerance and peace.

Rock on up Ed and if I was assaulting these young girls I’d deserve it. Pete lives in a society where there is violence everyday. The good thing for people like him is you very rarely have to confront it himself, others do it for him.

I’m sure a good youth group will change the attitudes of these little bastards, I doubt it though, a cuddle perhaps, I doubt it. An anti-violence initiative, I doubt it.

Violence has a place in society unfortunately, always has and always will, get used to the idea an appreciate the people who confront it for you.

You are right the MSM largely overlooks the genocide of Syria’s Christians by Islamic fundamentalists, but they hunt in opinion packs on many other things as well.

This isn’t confined to NZ. Look at the lack of media anger over the conviction of a British marine for murder of a Taleban guerrilla, at the same time the MSM as a pack show its soft yellow belly by nearly universally dropping the terms of “terrorist” even “guerrilla” to call the Taleban “fighters”. Compare the MSM reporting of the British marine’s trial with the kidnapping, torture and murder of a British private in Afghanistan. The MSM showed fuck-all support for Britain’s soldiers then,too.

IMHO, factors in the MSM’s drift to the Left include concentration of ownership in the hands of financiers uninterested in the editorial stance of their newspapers, and the change in MSM staff with training by and recruitment from specialist and general tertiary institutions. This has bureaucratised the MSM, biased staff political views to the left, and shut out many of the oddballs who in the past gave the MSM much of its colour and editorial “go”.

Thank goodness for the Internet, and blogs and social media, which will increasingly provide competition to the MSM.

In the meantime, your heart has to bleed for the Christians of the Middle East. Why aren’t we taking them as refugees instead of Muslims, customers of people traffickers, and those whose entry ticket is that they are potential customers of real estate agents?

President Obama will make up a postponed Hollywood fundraiser at the home of “Friends” co-creator Marta Kauffman later this month, according to a report in Variety.

The $32,400-per-plate event to benefit the Democratic National Committee had originally been slated for early September. But the president was forced to scrap his trip to Los Angeles ahead of a congressional vote to authorize a military strike against Syria.

The glitzy roundtable discussion will take place at the home of “Friends” producer Marta Kauffman on the morning of Nov. 26.

The president will also appear at an event benefiting House Democrats the prior day at the Los Angeles home of NBA legend Magic Johnson. Tickets to that event range between $2,500 to $15,000 per person.

Later that day, Obama will attend a dinner at the home of Hollywood producer Haim Saban. Saban’s company owns Spanish-language television channel Univison and produces children’s television shows, including the popular “Power Rangers” franchise.

Tickets to that event start at $16,200 per person, or $32,400 per couple, according to the Hollywood trade publication.

France calling out Obama’s plan with Iran as a “sucker’s deal”: won’t accept it.

PARIS (Reuters) – France said on Saturday there was no certainty nuclear talks under way with Iran in Geneva would succeed because of major stumbling blocks over an initial proposed text on a deal.

Top diplomats from Iran and six world powers are in a third day of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program to try to end a decade-old standoff. The West suspects that Iran is enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapons capability. Tehran denies this.

“As I speak to you, I cannot say there is any certainty that we can conclude” the talks, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on France Inter radio, noting that France could not accept a “sucker’s deal”.

Among the sticking points for Paris, Fabius said that France wanted Iran to stop operations at its Arak reactor during the negotiations and said there were questions about Iran’s stock of uranium enriched to 20 percent.

But what is that doubt based on? At least PG claims to have some experience in trying to make a difference with anti-violence initiatives and youth groups, and also has some tragic personal experiences to draw upon. “A fucking good hiding” is such a great solution to offer. It’s simple so you don’t have to rely on your audience having any particular understanding or experience. It has a sort of biblical resonance and draws on an established more of society: an eye for an eye. It also reflects the traditional religious view that people are innately sinful and the only way to have them follow a moral order is to establish fear in their hearts. If not a fear of god, then a fear of your fists.

One therefore doesn’t have to worry about such “watery” considerations as why they do not appreciate the wrongness of their actions and why they lack the appropriate empathy with their victims. Such behaviour is not a complex problem requiring complex answers, it is a simple problem the solution for which is a simple matter of being willing to throw one’s fists around. Hasn’t worked yet? Throw them harder: there isn’t a problem that cannot be beaten out of someone.

Of course, it’s always a “last resort”. This is true even if there are many such “last” resorts. Theft? Beating. Drug addiction? Beating. Violence? Beating. We need not concern ourselves with any suggestion that such “last resorts” contribute to further “last resorts”, we only need to remember that the devil is persistent and only through many more beatings can we hope to beat it out of them.

No they don’t. There are, broadly, two groups fighting Assad. There are secularly-minded rebels who to get rid of Assad and and his government and replace it with something secular, and then there are religious nutters who to replace Assad with an Islamic regime of some sort. The distinction between the two groups isn’t always clear-cut though as some secularly-minded rebels, upset with the lack of support from the west, have discovered that if they grow beards and spout religious claptrap this will get them funding from the Gulf.

The West morally supports the secularly minded opposition and wishes the jihadists would go away but its difficult to find a way of supporting them in more concrete ways – with weapons – that won’t also end up aiding the jihadists.

Maybe the lynch mob might now have a new target to focus their hate at, although maybe they might have learnt something from October although I doubt it. The judges decision on KP et al should be good reading!

I believe him when he says he stopped playing because it didn’t look good.

Obama has played more rounds of golf in one term than President George W. Bush did in his entire eight years in office, ABC News reports. Bush played golf 24 times in eight years.

Bush told Politico in May 2008 why he stopped playing golf while in office.

“I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,” Bush said. “I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander-in-chief playing golf.”

Obama don’t care about that though. He’s in the White House to live a life of leisure.
Oh, and to fundamentally change America, which he is doing (for the sorst).

At the same point in his presidency — Aug. 13, 2005 — George W. Bush had made 51 visits to his ranch in tiny Crawford, Texas, totaling all or part of 335 days.

In Auckland this evening, there was the launch of the White Ribbon Pledge, designed to encourage men everywhere to change their attitude towards women. I watched it, and who do I see popping up all through it, none other that Lecherous Lyin Lennie Brown!

Hardly a poster boy for an organisation pledging to end the abuse of women, is he!
