A snapshot of horses sold at auction in Britain reveals that buyers sourcing animals for abattoirs tend to opt for larger horses, especially thoroughbreds and other riding horses.

Buyers seeking horses on behalf of abattoirs went for thoroughbreds and riding horses for maximum meat yield, the researchers found.

They study found that animals destined for the meat trade were around 2.5 times as likely to be larger – taller than 15 hands – than those bought by other buyers.

Longknives, I wish.

But I think you would agree that is where many horses end up, including race horses. I am not suggesting it is a problem. In fact it makes perfect sense.

I suspect the real reason behind Peter Hitchens’ conversion to christianity was an attempt to escape from the shadow of his much cleverer big bro. It certainly got him more attention, especially from the right-wing-anti-evolutionist-nutters. Not unlike those uncle toms who appear on fox news. It’s amusing how they come out with the same right wing cliche quotes that hannity or o’reilly spew. Obviously scripted. Some people will say anything for the money!

LRC, I had a great run tonight. About 10km off road. Relaxed, smooth and fast. Best one in ages. The old body has a few miles left in it yet.

Dude – she really is a clueless dork Asian fob with fairly piss poor English – and yet she’s one of the ones who thinks her English is stunning. I don’t think so.

You’ve got no sweet tooth mate – whereas I’m loving this lemon creme filling that I’m eating right out of the bowl – oh yeah.

Ah – what else? Humanoid. I did post comment. Humanoid managed to finish my 10km run in 56’59”. 28’45” at 5km and I thought fuck this isn’t looking good. So finishing in 57 is a good effort.

Job. I can’t do anything clever or useful. I can turn up and collect my working poor charity play money before giving it all to the rich people who own everything. Cool.
