Two things annoy me today. The Safa who was allergic to bedbugs and seems to want to whine until she gets refunded all her health costs (which seem ridiculously high for a gp visit and prescriptions). Plus she can afford the Koru Lounge.

My other gripe is Anika Moa who is selling her album on the radio and calls herself beautiful. What a joke, shes a butch dyke

The scene I have just described brings into consideration the subject of slavery, as it now exists in New Zealand. Discontinuing DDT in bed manufacture was good and bad. Those budget airport motels can be dodgy, but what’s the point of trekking into town for a few hours kip?

Remember the Airport Garden Inn? They refunded all their bookings (that were made well in advance of the RWC to take advantage of their low rates) then jacked them up when they realised they could get much more for their rooms.

While Democratic legislators we spoke with welcomed the Latino vote, they seemed more interested in those immigrants and their offspring as a tool to increase the role of the government in society and the economy. Several of them tended to see Latin American immigrants and even Latino constituents as both more dependent on and accepting of active government programs and the political class guaranteeing those programs, a point they emphasized more than the voting per se. Moreover, they saw Latinos as more loyal and “dependable” in supporting a patron-client system and in building reliable patronage networks to circumvent the exigencies of political life as devised by the Founding Fathers and expected daily by the average American.

Republican lawmakers we spoke with knew that naturalized Latin American immigrants and their offspring vote mostly for the Democratic Party, but still most of them (all except five) were unambiguously in favor of amnesty and of continued mass immigration (at least from Mexico). This seemed paradoxical, and explaining their motivations was more challenging. However, while acknowledging that they may not now receive their votes, they believed that these immigrants are more malleable than the existing American: That with enough care, convincing, and “teaching,” they could be converted, be grateful, and become dependent on them. Republicans seemed to idealize the patron-client relation with Hispanics as much as their Democratic competitors did. Curiously, three out of the five lawmakers that declared their opposition to amnesty and increased immigration (all Republicans), were from border states.

Who Dunne It?

The man with the hair so gravity-defying it almost needs its own bow tie has had a definitively bad 2013. It kicked off with UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne being accused by NZ First leader Winston Peters of leaking the Kitteridge report to a Fairfax reporter, which he denied. Then he had an embarrassing setback when his political party was deregistered by the Electoral Commission because it did not have the 500 financial members required, despite the party’s low $5 annual membership fee. Things went from bad to worse for Dunne, and, unable to prove he was not the source of the Kitteridge leak, he resigned as a minister the next week.

flipper. 8.19am. A very informative account that may explain why some present day Maori are nothing but savages and have a long way to go before they are ready to fit in with our modern society. I am sure our ancestors behaved in a similar fashion but that was way back in time, not several hundred years ago.

On the one hand a short,savage violent existence until colonialism brought peace,freedom ,wealth and tranquility to this troubled land and yet the communists visit all evil upon the white who improved the lot of the common Maori beyond recognition.

If I were a communist like the masquerading Greens are, I would have to reject the Treaty utterly as it was ,in communist terms, signed between two powers,the Queen on the one hand and chiefs on the other.It had nothing to do with the commoner whom the communist claims to represent.

A Chinese icebreaker responding to a stranded research ship with six Kiwis on board has been blocked by heavy Antarctic sea ice.

The Xue Long was expected to reach the MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which is trapped in heavy ice about 3000km southwest of New Zealand, late last night.

More Climate Disruption at work.

I reckon they will be stuck for weeks.

You do know the difference between land and sea ice I take it? The extent of the sea-ice is generally seasonal (though changes in currents due to a warmer ocean is having an anomalous effect).

The permanent Antarctic land-ice cap on the other hand, is steadily shrinking.

I saw her on something (might have been Seven Sharp) bleating on about how wonderful and amazing her relationship was and sneering that anybody who opposes Gay marriage and adoption are ‘Hateful Bigots’ etc..
A few months later I see it has all fallen apart…how ironic (though the Gay community wont see it)

What would help is a map of the lattitude that the rooski vessel is trapped at, and compare fixings of the ever changing land-ice perimeter in the vicinity through a reasonable time period.

them anything. It would be like, “Excuse me… oops, never mind. Didn’t see
your sign”

It’s like before my wife and I moved.Our house was full of boxes and there was a Wridgeways truck in our driveway. My neighbour comes over and says, “Hey, you moving?”
“Nope. We just pack our stuff up once or twice a week to see how
many boxes it takes.
Here’s your sign.”

A couple of months ago I went fishing with a mate of mine, we pulled his boat into the ramp, I lifted up this big whiting and this idiot on the ramp goes,
“Hey, you catch all them fish?” “Nope. Talked ’em into giving up.
Here’s your sign.”

I was watching one of those animal shows on the Discovery Channel.
There was a guy inventing a shark bite suit. And there’s only one way to test it.
“Alright Jimmy, you got that shark suit on, it looks good…
They want you to jump into this pool of sharks, and you tell us if it hurts
when they bite you.”
“Well, all right, but hold my sign. I don’t wanna lose it”.

Last time I had a flat tyre, I pulled my car into a gas station. The attendant walks out, looks at my car, looks at me, and I SWEAR he said,
“Tyre go flat?” I couldn’t resist. I said, “Nope. I was driving around and
those other three just swelled up on me.
Here’s your sign.”

We were trying to sell our car about a year ago. A guy came over to the house and drove the car around for about 45 minutes. We get back to the house, he gets out of the car, reaches down and grabs the exhaust pipe, then says, “Shit, that’s hot!”
See? If he’d been wearing his sign, I could have stopped him.

I learned to drive an semi-trailer in my days of adventure. Wouldn’t you know I misjudged the height of a bridge. The truck got stuck and I couldn’t get it out no matter how I
tried. I radioed in for help and eventually a cop shows up to take the
report. He went through his basic questioning. Ok.. No problem. I thought sure he was clear of needing a sign…until he asked “So. Is your truck stuck?” I couldn’t help myself!
I looked at him, looked back at the rig and then back to him and said “No I’m delivering a bridge…
Here’s your sign.”

I stayed late at work one night and a co-worker looked at me
and said “Are you still here?” I replied, “No. I left about 10 minutes ago.
Here’s your sign.”

Anybody you know need a sign today?
