Will it be Whyte for ACT for Epsom?

December 17th, 2013 at 10:00 am by David Farrar

The Herald reports:

Don Brash, the man who forced Rodney Hide out of his job as leader, approached him recently to urge him to return to the party leadership and to run for in .

Dr Brash told the Herald that Mr Hide was not interested at the time but the approach was made before current leader John Banks announced he would step down in February and would not stand at the 2014 election.

Mr Hide has been uncharacteristically silent on the issue, refusing to rule himself out or say whether he is considering it.

I doubt Rodney is that masochistic.

Act president John Boscawen said last night there had been only one nomination so far, that of , who has recently returned from Britain where he was a management consultant for Oliver Wymann and the Boston Consulting Group. He is also a former foreign currency trader and a former philosophy lecturer at Cambridge University.

A bid for the seat has been ruled out by Mr Boscawen, former president Catherine Isaac and former Auckland Central candidate David Seymour.

Trying to retain the seat without an existing public profile would be very challenging.

and ACT are still out there calling themselves the “party of principle”:)….

Can someone tell me what those principles are, or will they all change once they strap someone new to the mast…..

Groucho, one of the more sane Marx family members said, “Of course I have principles but if you do not like them I have others.”

The people problems in that party go much deeper than changing one man at the top.

Its time for a new party to purge the right of the current self serving fools and incompetents.

    Hide as leader? Really?

First Hide was going to save us from Prebble, then Brash was going to save us from Hide, now Hide is going to save us from Banks?

    What can you say?

Rodney Hide’s lasting legacy is our Auckland city governance structure and Len Brown

Perhaps someone a bit more competent could be found.

It’s the International Baldist Conspiracy TM, which conspires to get rid of offending hirsute office holders within ACT and replace them with slapheads!!! First Rodney Hide, then John Baldscowen, then Don Brash, and now this James Whyte fellow! Quick! Somebody tell Colin Craig!!! There’s a Conspiracy Afoot!!!
