Dr RUSSEL NORMAN to the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment: By how much did wages and salaries increase between December 2008 and December 2013 according to the Labour Cost Index and how does this compare to inflation according to the Consumer Price Index over the same period?
  5. Hon DAVID PARKER to the Minister of Finance: Does he stand by his statement “I think there’s going to be an expectation, particularly for those people with skills that are in demand, that they will be doing better than zero pay increases”?

Today Labour are asking five questions. These are whether the Prime Minister stands by all his statements, pay increases, partnership schools, the Australian supermarket ban on NZ goods and the suitability of the Minister of internal Affairs to hold the portfolio. New Zealand First is asking the Prime Minister about transparency. The Greens are asking about Wages and the Emissions Trading Scheme.

1. Smoke-free Environments (Tobacco Plain Packaging) Amendment Bill – First Reading

2. Subantarctic Islands Marine Reserves Bill – Third Reading

3. Victims of Crime Reform Bill – Second Reading

The Smoke-free Environments (Tobacco Plain Packaging) Amendment Bill  is being guided through the House by the Associate Minister of Health, Tariana Turia. This bill introduces a plain packaging regime for tobacco products.

The Subantarctic Islands Marine Reserves Bill is being guided through the house by the Minister of Conservation, Dr Nick Smith. This bill would create three new marine reserves.

The Victims of Crime Reform Bill is being guided through the house by the Minister of Justice, Judith Collins. This bill amends legislation so as to implement the Government’s reform package for victims of crime.
