I wouldn’t hold my breath on that thought john boy. Once a murri, always a murri. I think he is a part murri. A younger version of winston first in more ways than one. Remember W1 was a national party high flyer until his murri side took over.
    Just saying, “its tricky”

A strong point of difference with the unionists, teachers, mediocrities and other non-entities who make the up the bulk of the Labour Party list.

Dancing and weather credentials appear a bit thin. Might have been able to compensate with 12 month European holiday but a bit late for that now. No option other than polygamous gay marriage.

    Can anyone refresh my mind?

Was it No Poohi in the north that invented murri reticulated sewerage or Nightly Tapoo in the south? :)

…”No option other than polygamous gay marriage.”….

It may pay to think outside the square. A polygamous gay interspecies marriage would trump even Labour & the Greens.

Eat your hearts out Grant & Alf. :)

    Ewe and Me

What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
    I can’t keep up and I can’t back down
I’ve been losing so much time

‘Cause it’s ewe and me and all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it’s ewe and me and all of the people
And I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of ewe

All of the things that I want to say just aren’t coming out right
    I’m tripping on words
    You got my head spinning
I don’t know where to go from here

‘Cause it’s ewe and me and all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to prove
And it’s ewe and me and all of the people
And I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of ewe

    Something about ewe now
    I can’t quite figure out
    Everything she does is beautiful
    Everything she does is right

‘Cause it’s ewe and me and all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it’s ewe and me and all of the people
And I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of ewe

Tremain won the seat because he was a ‘name’ and Kel was the man.

Walford has no connection with Napier. It will be an uphill battle with Nash working on this for some time.

I am afraid that all these new candidates (nats and Labour) that have outstanding qualifications are more of what we DON’T want in parliament.

Having read the posts on Milne winning ChCh I have to laugh.

Other than gayness Walford could be a good match for Milne.

Nash was able to cut Tremain’s majority in the last election, a good effort in that National high vote.
Nash must start as favourite, unfortunately.

Chris will be a hard act to follow, but it certainly looks like Walford has the chops to be a good MP if elected.
Though the ‘if’ is the operational point. Napier elects ‘Napier’, it always has, 11 months as a CEO of the Hawkes Bay Chamber does not make him from Napier. Chris was also the first National MP since Peter Tait broke a previous leftist run for one term in 1951, so the seat has been basically labour for 24 of the last 28 elections. These days though I don’t think the mixed class urban and relatively centrist public of Napier care too much for party politics, more that their parochial views and needs are properly represented. It saddens me to say that in this pedigree Nash has a bit of a head start.
