Intruder stabbed in stomach with scissors in home invasion

A home invasion at a rural Manawatu property turned violent when a woman couldn’t comply with her attackers’ demands this morning.

She suffered injuries to her upper body from trying to protect herself, while one of the attackers left after receiving a stomach wound from a pair of scissors.

Police said the 45-year-old woman got up about 6.40am at her Opiki property to investigate a noise she thought might have been her partner returning from milking.

Instead, she was confronted by a man armed with what police believed was a knife.

Palmerston North Detective Sergeant David Thompson said demands for “material items” were made, however the woman wasn’t able to comply. “That’s when it became more violent.”

Another intruder then appeared and joined in the struggle. Mr Thompson declined to comment on the exact nature of the demands.

“We understand that during this time he has received a wound to the stomach with scissors,” Mr Thompson said.

The men then fled in a vehicle, and the injured woman barricaded herself in her room and called police.

Women on rural properties really ought to be able to defend themselves with small handguns rather than having to resort to scissors.

Lucy, I agree and think we should all have that right. Women and the elderly would especially benefit. If these violent thugs knew the occupant may be armed it would be far more of a deterrent than tougher laws.

Yep, when I’m old, I’m going to have a loaded handgun in the house and stuff the law (which may be changed by then). Too many old women are bashed and/or raped in their homes in NZ.

Those who say it’s an attack on low income earners are really quite desperate, this will help low income earners housing affordability and low interest rates is important to them, it should also over time lead to a higher wage structure.

How will the policy lead to higher wages unless workers demand that, which is against the intent of the policy?

PS – What is interesting is to see such a policy “debated” without a single fucking figure or number uttered regarding anything

For example right from the beginning I asked two questions about 9/11 which no one to date has satisfactorily answered ,

I really don’t want to know what a satisfactory answer is in stevieboy’s world. I’ve responded to these points before.

1. If 9/11 was an inside job it would be a large scale and complex operation to lay explosive charges for the controlled demolition of the WTC to towers .

If you were using conventional techniques, which isn’t being suggested.

It raises two questions ,the first is why it was completely unnoticed by the 3,000 or so staff working there

It wasn’t unnoticed, an computer/electrical shutdown and people/engineers working there the weekend before was reported.

and secondly ,why no whistleblowers have not come forth.?

Because they would effectively be admitting to conspiracy to commit terrorism, perhaps?

“Globalresearch.ca (also under the domain name globalresearch.org) may best be described as a left-wing equivalent to WingNutDaily. It is the website of the Montreal-based non-profit The Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG), founded by Michel Chossudovsky.
The website describes itself as an “independent research and media organization.” Globalresearch.ca takes pride in being a reliable “alternative news” source serving as a major repository of a broad range of “news articles, in-depth reports and analysis on issues which are barely covered by the mainstream media” (such as the New World Order). Its politico-economic stance is strongly anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-militarist, “internationalist but anti-globalization.” Its view of science, the economy and geopolitics seems to be broadly conspiracist.
While many of Globalresearch.ca’s articles discuss legitimate humanitarian or environmental concerns, the site has a strong undercurrent of reality warping and bullshit throughout its pages, especially in relation to taking its news from “Russia Today”, along with other unreliable and/or open sources.
Despite presenting itself as a source of scholarly analysis, Globalresearch.ca mostly consists of polemics many of which accept (and use) conspiracy theories, pseudoscience and propaganda. It’s no surprise then that the site has long become a magnet for radicals, fringe figures and crank elements from the left in general. And ironically, it has more in common with its writers’ enemies and wingnut rivals than they would ever admit.’

Gate Pa, done and dusted, but how many will be invited to commemorate the Battle of Te Ranga on the 21 June 1864 just 5km distant from gate Pa where the Maori leader Puhirake (also at Gate Pa) was killed along with 108 of his mates,a further 15 dying of wounds. European losses- 9 dead and 39 wounded. So why Gate Pa? Because the maori won,what institutionlised racism. Do we also not reflect on the massacre by Te Kooti of both loyal maori and defenceless European women and children 10- 12 November 1868 near Matawhero and Patutahi…lest we forget.

That’s what the example I gave the other day was about, when I explained that Shawn had linked to a site founded by a satanist. I explained this does not mean that Shawn is a satanist. I realise such a concept is mind-boggling to you but as an example, this is what people who think do. They read for example, this (from the article I gave above):

Greece, Spain and Italy are effectively ruined, and behind the dismantling of these and all victim societies is the same transnational corporate system multiplying itself through societies. Big Banks, Oil, Military Contracting, Big Agri-Food and Pharma are themselves only vehicles of the one underlying economic disease of transnational money sequences self-multiplying across all borders without life limits or functions. They feed on ruined societies as their carrion.

Ukraine follows this macro pattern…

They then recall their history of those mentioned conflicts and think to themselves, did that really happen? Is Libya for example, really actually a festering pile of dog poo when once it used to be one of the most prosperous and well educated nations in that region? They might need to a do a bit of research to answer that and then they might look at the next nation mentioned and the next and so on.

And then they identify the patterns. The common factors. Like: the US invaded to name an obvious one. The tactics used in such conflict, broken down by propaganda, guerilla, political, military etc; to name a less obvious one.

At some point in such research it sometimes dawns on people who think that the pattern they are hypothesising has metastasized into a reality, an actual reality, based on the repetition of the same things in different countries that happened with the same particular player involved time after time after time.

Sometimes no pattern appears. What the author was saying seemed real but on further analysis, it wasn’t the case. And sometimes it does appear.

But people who think never approach such a question with the answer already in mind. People who think recall Tolstoy’s quote I gave the other day. Here it is again because you’ve probably forgotten it:

“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-
witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the
simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if
he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of
doubt, what is laid before him.”

People who think also not only bear in mind but also rigorously practice Conan-Doyle’s dictum given by his fictional character:

“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

When people who think not only remember but apply to the letter both of those two principles to any matter, they will arrive at the truth. It’s when people don’t want to think, that they get it wrong. And that’s what people who have something to hide rely on. Most people don’t want to come to conclusions which challenge their established worldview, because to do so entails apparent ego destruction. So most people don’t think. It’s a shame because as I said, the ego destruction is a veil that you can pass through and once on the other side, you realise it was an illusion same as the curtain of water in the waterfall was in Tintin goes to Peru. It looked real, but it really wasn’t. And once on the other side, which doesn’t hurt at all, you realise you can really see things, as they really are, for the first time.

Is she ordering armies to do that? Not that I’m seeing. Instead it’s a very restrained reaction, trying not to trigger an all out war.

Yes, because Russia has 40,000 troops on the border of Ukraine (including hospital facilities, so they’re expecting casualties) and who knows how many military men taking over town by town, shooting mayors, roughing up pro-Ukraine supporters, taking military observers prisoner, and parading a captured female reporter/Maiden organiser blindfolded around the place. And that’s what we know about.

It’s almost as if Russia doesn’t quite get the internet, that it’s difficult to contain the situation just by releasing fantastical stories to conspiracy websites and pasty pro-Russian reporters.

Lucia have you looked up the child casualty rate from the US-imposed sanctions? Do you know about Albright’s quote to the effect “we think it’s a price worth paying?”

Do you know how offensive it is to allege that something even Albright herself acknowledged is true, is in fact false, coming as it does from someone steeped in the matrix?

Educate yourself girl. Get a clue.

(Seriously, I’m actually not offended, I hardly ever am unless someone outright lies about me. Emotion interferes with logical processing, but I do sometimes mirror the tone of the person I’m responding to, that’s why I worded the above couple of sentences.)

BTW, if you wish to discuss the article, then read the whole thing and lets discuss it, because you’re picking on a micro theme and the macro theme is very interesting, novel (in my reading anyway) and well worth discussing. Please recognise I only quoted that bit to serve as an example to illustrate a totally separate point.

So, the 40,000 troops on the border is a figment of everyone’s imagination, and Poland asking for more NATO support (because of long empire, war and then communist memories of Russia) is just, what .. part of the Matrix?

I don’t want to read anymore of that article, it’s crap. I only read enough crap to rebut it, any more and it’s just gross. I don’t pick through crap looking for diamonds, because I kinda figure that there aren’t any, given all the crap.

If this is Global Research ( you do not source your extensive copy and paste) then it confirms what Rational Wiki has said, namely polemic ,rhetorical with the usual ideological based sweeping assertions and broad glib generalizations . Gods Judgement On Taxes..
One day, this man, Tony, died. When he was sent to be judged, he was told that he had committed a sin, and that he could not go to heaven right away.

He asked what he did and God told him that he cheated on his income taxes, and that the only way he could get into heaven would be to sleep with a 500 pound, stupid, butt-ugly woman for the next five years and enjoy it.

Tony decided that this was a small price to pay for an eternity in heaven.

So off he went with this enormous woman, pretending to be happy.

As he was walking along, he saw his friend Carlos up ahead. Carlos was with an even bigger, uglier woman than he was with.

They both shook their heads in understanding and figured that as long as they have to be with these women, they might as well hang out together to help pass the time.

Stunned, Tony and Carlos approached the man and in fact it was their friend Paul. They asked him how is he with this unbelievable goddess, while they were stuck with these god-awful women.

This has been absolutely the best time of my life (and I’m dead), and I have had five years of the best sex any man could hope for.

The purposes of this Act are—
(a)to provide for the continuation of the repository of public archives called the National Archives with the name Archives New Zealand (Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga); and

(b)to provide for the role of the Chief Archivist in developing and supporting government recordkeeping, including making independent determinations on the disposal of public records and certain local authority archives; and

(c)to enable the Government to be held accountable by—
(i)ensuring that full and accurate records of the affairs of central and local government are created and maintained; and

(ii)providing for the preservation of, and public access to, records of long-term value; and

(d)to enhance public confidence in the integrity of public records and local authority records; and

(e)to provide an appropriate framework within which public offices and local authorities create and maintain public records and local authority records, as the case may be; and

ie: Information which confirms whether it was the Chief Executive of MFAT who considered and concluded, independently of yourself as Minister of Foreign Affairs, that the position / proposed position of ‘Pacific Economic Ambassador’.was necessary and that there was available funding.

3) Information which confirms whether the position / proposed position of ‘Pacific Economic Ambassador’ is a ‘public service role’, where the person is appointed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, so the Chief Executive of MFAT is their employer and funding is allocated in the budget and administered within the boundaries specified in the appropriations – or a’ministerial appointment’, funded from the appropriations for parliamentary services.

4) Copies of ALL information, including but not limited to briefing notes, memorandums, meeting minutes, reports, emails, telephone messages, and texts between yourself, and Labour Party MP Shane Jones, relating to your ‘job offer’ to him, of ‘Pacific Economic Ambassador’, and related matters.

Angry, because I know the history of the region perfectly well, and you appear not to at all.

I took Russian history and Russian politics undergrad papers at University Lucia. Not specifically Ukraine but the whole country. It taught me a lot since the cold war was still a very happening thing, in the early 80’s.

I think your issue is you blame what happened to your rellies on forces that weren’t driving the events which caused their distress. One of the things I learned about Russian politics is that their mentality was driven by a defensive mentality.

Of course we in the West at the time were always told since we were babies that the Wussians were big bad meanies and they wanted to take over the world and spwead their commie manifesto all over the place and look for example what the Comintern says and that’s all weally weally bad.

But I learned that the reason the Russians had developed buffer states in the form of the inner circle of the USSR states and the wider circle of the Warsaw pact countries is because Rus developed from invasion and it was a form of defence embedded deep in the Russian psyche. Naturally this was an inconvenient truth for the West which, as I later learned, had tremendous vested interests in driving the agenda of the aggressive Russian forces.

Stalin was an outsider and an anomaly in Russian history, did you know that? Of course you know he was a Georgian, as you also know that Napolean was a Corsican and Hitler was an Austrian. I read an interesting observation once to the effect it’s amazing how when outsiders take over a country they’re not from, they normally trash it after using it to achieve their own evil ends. It takes great discernment to see that at the time its happening let alone when you’re looking at history, since the tendency is to conflate the depredation they inflict with the country itself and blame the country and not the man and his willing minions.

The evidence is there as to who the bolsheviks were and newsflash: they weren’t Russians. You only need to look at what they did to Russians to realise that. But you have to be discerning.

The person BTW who gave me that data on Russia at university wasn’t as I’m sure you’re currently hallucinating, some raging lefty. No. He in fact is a highly respected member of the conservative political hierarchy. I’m not going to name him but a look at Auckland Uni’s political studies faculty list from the early 1980’s will lead you to him, if you’re interested. And I won’t be responding to anyone who asks: was it him, either. I just told you the truth. Take it or leave it. I don’t care.

Stephie – I long ago worked out you are one of the ones who are mentally incapable of understanding the system. Spend some time researching the following and research it to the end so you can answer these questions:
– What is money?
– Where does money come from?
– What is the history of money in various forms?

A good place to start might be the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island”.

Once you have asked and answered those questions, then ask yourself what is each monetary systems respective impacts on wealth distribution, political systems and societal control?

Yes Reid I have seen that video and have shared it previously on this site with a mixed response. People would learn more in that 30 mins of education than from an entire year of reading the financial pages of the NZ Herald – why prices rise, why debt has to keep growing, the kabuki theatre that is Central Banks trying to “manage” economies.

Youtube and the internet in general have been the greatest gift to mankind as it has enabled to have a world of information including access to the great minds at our fingertips. It is the most Democratising invention the world has ever seen.

Unfortunately, this video has only had 2 million views while a Justin Bieber video will have 300million+ or a cat spinning on a chair might generate 100m+. Like Orwell prophesised all those years ago – many people have learned to love their servitude…

It’s quite funny isn’t it – in the UK many people have worked out that there is no real democracy from the LIBLABCON and are turning to UKIP in their droves and the press is going apesh*t. Same in the US with Ron Paul vs. the “Republocrats” and the MSM including so called Republican leaning outlets went mental at Ron Paul.

And yet, if you spend more than 2 seconds Googling that you find that what they were referring to as “hidden” was a comment in the code, in fact something that was specifically removed from a more general template.

In no way legally enforceable, seeing as the intended user would never read and acknowlege it.

Not a single person in that room was techincal, obviously. None of them had any idea of what they were looking at and why it wasn’t relevant. Apart from Mr Barton, of course, who must have known what it (wasn’t) and was stringing it along to get those 300+ non-thinking misinformed Facebook up votes.

I did take a look stephie, but I realised that as with all debunking articles I’ve read on this, they pretend to have an explanation but they really don’t, however in order to know that, you have to know what the issues raised in the first place were.

So that didn’t help, but thanks for taking the time to make an attempt. I know you were only trying to help, but perhaps next time you could familiarise yourself with the actual issues that are alleged so that you’ll not only help me but you’ll be able to rapidly detect bullshit when you see it as well. You seem currently to be completely and utterly lacking in this skill, that’s all. You seem almost as simple as a little baby who can’t even talk yet, with respect to your understanding of what the actual allegations and the evidence thereof are.

But you’re trying, even if you’re not very good yet, and that’s something, at least, isn’t it. Take care, and keep really really trying your very best. You never know, in a year or so you may start making some progress, maybe.
