The endangered NZ or tūturiwhatu at Okura. This small shore bird has declined to about 1700 birds in scattered populations.

    China was good. The slow process of prising data out of the Chinese is bearing fruit. Getting some traction and international attention on the research also.

    They found a good spot- they seemed to be breeding well
