  1. Souvlaki (29 comments) says:

It will not have escaped the attention of “mature “political junkies (though not yet in senescence) such as myself that Linda Clark has been contracted to be Cunliffe’s media trainer.
I notice distinct parallels between the way she was instrumental in unseating Shipley and now Labours full frontal attack on Judith Collins ….both over a private dinner (same Modus Operandi).
Call me a cynic, but after seeing Clark on the TV3 news last night trying to chew Jamie Whyte’s arse for not, effectively giving other panellists the ‘heads up ‘on his intention to roast sacred cows and therefore getting the drop on them…..confirms to this old fart at least, she, in cahoots with Labour are revisiting their previously successful attempt to un seat National as they did with Shipley.
Her (Clark’s) involvement is deserving of greater scrutiny!! Is her job as Cunliffe’s “Brian Edwards”, part of her employment (endorsement from) with Kensington Swan…or is she free-lancing on the side??
I thought since becoming a parent, and obtaining a Law degree she had matured into what Churchill referred to in his heart/ brain ( left /right) analogy all those years ago….perhaps I was wrong 
(Maybe the saving grace is that Gower, compared to Clark, is as thick as a sack of hammers)

Souvlaki I’ve been thinking recently that all journalists should have to have their political allegiances stated under their name whenever they give comment on something. Unfortunately the majority of voters have no clue as to the agenda the MSM is pushing through.

It would be extremely difficult to find a dozen a political or right wing leaning commentators/journalists from any of our major papers, RNZ and the two main TV broadcasters.

What ever makes you think that Linda Clark has ever changed. She only went to get a degree when nobody else in the media would employ her.
She is desperate to front our television programmes – any – so she can sanctimoniously preach her brand of socialism.
If she was a male I would call her a prick – but that is being kind.
Presumably Cunliffe has promised her a top role in the Green/Labour/Winston/ManaInternet Government, but she will have a lot of competition.

Norman said. “He [Prime Minister John Key] was using the office of the prime minister to fundraise for the National Party. That is wrong.”

Meanwhile a little while back, three top Labour members – contenders to replace their Leader who they had stabbed in the back with two fish – took three weeks off their normal duties as the Opposition, and ran about the country in a worthless internal party exercise called the Labour American-style leadership primary to see who could make the most attractive spontaneous promises, which weren’t conference agreed Labour policies, rather than any real competition where voters could evaluate one candidate against another.

That was a fucking lot wronger.

Oops! I should have squeezed in the 6 months secret loan too :-)

Russel Norman concedes that fundraising dinners with the PM are “technically legal” which is nice of him, because they are completely legal, provided the money is declared. But he also says that they are “not right”.

We’ve put a bit of time and effort into what is a lengthy post by our standards. We invite you to have a read, and see if you agree with us that the circumstances in which he became an MP prior to the 2008 election were “technically legal” (even if they contravened the Greens’ rules on its Party List) but also “not right”.

The Greens claim to be the party of principle, but when there’s Other People’s money to be spend, they are as venal and self-serving as any other political party. It’s time for the skeleton in Dr Norman’s closet to emerge again…

People argue that race doesn’t exist. My understanding is that it doesn’t as major units but you still get differences as seen in (say) jamacan runners (and a tiny bit of DNA can make a big difference).
While race doesn’t exist and blood doesn’t matter Maori grievances and rights do (it is claimed).

Embattled MP Maurice Williamson is facing fresh trouble after it emerged he failed to declare a top-of-the-range $899 smartphone.

The Pakuranga MP claims he did not have to disclose the Samsung Galaxy S4 phone in a register of pecuniary interests, released this week, because it was a long-term loan and not a gift.

Cunliffe’s secret leadership primary donation which became a six month loan, being at least $20,000, is roughly equal to Maurice having his loan phone for 11 years and one and a half months.

She would have been better off taking photos of pieces of excrement gang members who should all be rounded up and incarcerated and then putting those on display. That would have been all right with the pretentious wank/ bitch-fest that passes for ‘art’ in New Zealand.

Still, at least she’s put her name to her own art that she did herself unlike the former Prime Minister Helen Clark who lied outright about a piece she signed and didn’t actually do.

Speaking of gang members, Dunedin City Council are most likely going to give lawn mowing contracts to the local filth (Mongrel & Black Power). The Mayor is it Dave Cull? reckons they are ‘part of the community’ and should be given a chance.

I didn’t realise people this stupid and naive still existed. Message to the Mayor: you’re going to regret it. They’ve had every chance in the world for years and years to leave violence and crime behind. They ain’t going to do it now.

“You are basically admitting that YOU change your view to seek approval from others. Rather than be sincere.”

Not at all, your lying again, and, more importantly, you have missed the point. The issue with you is not your views, but the way you express them, and the dishonest way you debate.

You could easily express your views without using lies and loaded questions.

The fact that you seem unwilling to do that actually tends to suggest that your views are weak and not well supported with evidence.

A person who was confident in their views would not have to make things up, or accuse other people of things that are not true.

Far from coming across like a person who is sure of their opinions, you come across as desperate and weak.

But then, most internet bullies tend to be weak and cowardly in real life.

Report: Netanyahu Promises Talmud Will Be Israeli Law
Netanyahu tells Likud hareidi leader Hebrew calendar will be official calendar of state in new Basic Law, Jewish law basis of legal system.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reportedly revealed at a Likud conference on Wednesday some remarkable facets of the Basic Law he submitted last Thursday, which would enshrine Israel’s status as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

Netanyahu told the head of Likud’s hareidi division Yaakov Vider at the conference that he intends to make the Hebrew calendar, which is based on Jewish law, the official calendar of Israel, reports Kikar Hashabat.

    Oh dear ………………….

Still waiting for SOMEONE in mainstream media to focus on the failure of Minister for CORRUPTION Judith Collins to introduce her ‘Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Legislation Bill’ into the House – so NZ can ratify the UN Convention Against Corruption?

(Still waiting for an acknowledgment from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to this OIA request to Prime Minister John Key:

    7 May 2014

‘Open Letter’ /OIA request to Prime Minister John Key :

“Why has New Zealand STILL not yet ratified the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)?”

    Dear Prime Minister,

Please be reminded that according to the 2013 Transparency International ‘Corruption Perception Index’, New Zealand, (along with Denmark) is ‘perceived’ to be the least corrupt country in the world.

    http://cpi.transparency.org/cpi2013/results/

However, New Zealand is still one of a handful of countries which has STILL not ratified the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

In a letter to Transparency International New Zealand (TINZ), dated 7 August 2013, your Minister of Justice Judith Collins stated:

“New Zealand ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption

Thank you for your correspondence of 31 May 2013 to myself, Hon Murray McCully, and Hon Tim Groser regarding New Zealand’s ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

Like you, I also believe that ratifying UNCAC would be advantageous. Ratification of the Convention is important to ensure New Zealand retains its international reputation for transparency, integrity, and trustworthiness, which can have flow-on economic benefits for the country.

It is for these reasons that I have announced a package of legislative reforms that will allow New Zealand to ratify UNCAC. the reforms will be progressed as part of an Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Bill which I intend to introduce into Parliament later in 2013.

As you may be aware, it is the policy of the New Zealand Government that binding treaty actions such as ratification is not taken until New Zealand’s domestic law is compliant with the treaty obligations. As you state in your letter, only minor amendments are necessary to bring New Zealand into compliance with the UNCAC obligations.

The Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Bill will contain the required amendments. After the Bill is passed and the changes are enacted, officials will promptly take steps to deposit New Zealand’s instrument of ratification of UNCAC.

    Yours sincerely,

    Hon Judith Collins
    Minister of Justice.”

    Press Release: New Zealand Government
    Hon Judith Collins

    Minister of Justice

    18 October 2013 Media Statement

Bill supports zero-tolerance for organised crime

Justice Minister Judith Collins says the Government’s comprehensive approach to fighting all forms of organised crime will help safeguard New Zealand’s economy, international reputation and public safety.

This month a number of international bodies are evaluating New Zealand’s compliance with international standards related to financial crimes – including the OECD, which will report on New Zealand’s compliance with an international convention to combat bribery of foreign public officials.

“I welcome the release of these reports.

This Government takes all forms of organised crime and corruption very seriously,” Ms Collins says.

New laws to fight organised crime
    Friday 18 Oct 2013 10:33a.m.

The Government will bring in a bill before the end of the year to strengthen laws against money laundering, identity theft, human trafficking and corruption.
Justice Minister Judith Collins says she intends to have a comprehensive set of laws in place to fight all forms of organised crime.
“It’s important to consider bribery and corruption within the big picture of organised crime, which undermines public safety, national security, economic development and good governance,” she said today.
“This bill will help ensure New Zealand maintains its reputation as a responsible international citizen and that our domestic law enforcement agencies have the tolls they need to fight all forms of organised crime.”

Austrian bearded drag queen Conchita Wurst won the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with a James Bond-inspired entry that had unleashed a wave of protests in eastern Europe before the competition.

Pushing the boundaries of gender identity is nothing new at Europe’s annual song contest, an extravaganza known for its eclectic, sometimes unlistenable lineup of techno beats, love songs and pop tunes.

Maybe Penny Bright could participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest and sing a song about Len Brown? Both of them would enjoy the publicity…

Kea’s 5.37 link to another scientist who has woken up to the UN agenda reminded me of a story in Friday’s Dominion Post.

Apparently the state of Tasmania spent about $50million trying to eradicate foxes supposedly liberated by disgruntled hunters. It turned out to be an incredibly well organised hoax but it generated 3000 “sightings” from the deluded citizens.

    From the DomPost:

….” Australia’s leading fox expert, Clive Marks” who chaired the panel, said: “Here is an example where you can propose that something exists when it doesn’t. And if you follow that narrative with a suitable amount of media & spin-doctoring, you can get a good proportion of people believing it”…..

A link to the story from another source: http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/backgroundbriefing/2014-05-04/5418860

As Carbon Dioxide Levels Continue To Rise, Global Temperatures Are Not Following Suit

New data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are continuing to rise but global temperatures are not following suit. The new data undercut assertions that atmospheric carbon dioxide is causing a global warming crisis.

NOAA data show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels rose 2.67 parts per million in 2012, to 395 ppm. The jump was the second highest since 1959, when scientists began measuring atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.

Global temperatures are essentially the same today as they were in 1995, when atmospheric carbon dioxide levels were merely 360 ppm. Atmospheric carbon dioxide levels rose 10 percent between 1995 and 2012, yet global temperatures did not rise at all. Global warming activists are having a difficult time explaining the ongoing disconnect between atmospheric carbon dioxide levels and global temperatures.

This isn’t the first time in recent years that global temperatures have disobeyed the models presented by global warming activists. From the mid-1940s through the mid-1970s, global temperatures endured a 30-year decline even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels rose nearly 10 percent. From 1900 through 1945, by contrast, global temperatures rose rapidly despite a lack of coal power plants, SUV’s, and substantial carbon dioxide emissions.

Remarkably, global warming activists are spinning the ongoing rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, along with the ongoing lack of global temperature rise, as evidence that we are facing an even worse global warming crisis than they have been predicting.

Griffith’s story is rather sad. In spite of his obvious intellectual limitations, exasperated by heavy cannabis use, young Griffith once filled a functional role in mainstream society, albiet at a very primary level.

This all changed one rainy night in small town NZ. Griffith scored some serious weed from his dealer. Having smoked most of it he staggered into the movie theater. The cult classic An Inconvenient Truth was playing to delighted crowds of sci-fi fans. In his altered state the young Griffith was unable to discern reality from fantasy and he became increasingly paranoid.

He emerged from the theater wild eyed and incoherent babbling about the world ending and great floods consuming the earth. In spite of all my efforts I have been unable to coax him back to reality and the result you see before you today.

    Very sad :)

The boat as described was a hartly Fijian flush decked with port holes on the side. the design can be from 38 feet to about 45 just by spacing the frames many have been built as a cutter rigged ketch with a bowsprit . not to be confused with a Tahitian like mine with a wheel house and no portholes in the hull. Ketch is great makes the sails smaller to handle and gives more options on sail plan specially if it’s a cutter ( two fore sails ) as well.

The REAL reason house prices got so high has bugger all to do with immigration and everything to do with status obsessed white middle class pricks going into a buying frenzy with cheap borrowed money buoyed along by silly TV shows and a hysterical media. kea you know that James Taylor is a lawyer working for an oil industry lobby group it has been pointed out many times to you yet he is still your go to man for science.
You would have op be a fuckwit to go to a lawyer working for the oil industry for information about climate change

Not surprising then …Eh . That you post the same old stupid crap time and again it graphically shows your stupidity. keep up with the screen licking wingnut.

    The diet files . . .

Countdown are certainly doing their part in the war against sugar. $3.39 / 1.5 litre Coke range – fucking hell – ouch ouch ouch – full standard price – whoa !! Of course – that includes zero sugar range – doh.

Hey – it costs more than milk – that’ll keep the unwashed logic section happy – hahahaha.

Needless to say I bought Pepsi Max 2 litre at yellow hell $2.26 plus Fanta Zero 1.5 litre at NW $2.29. (I really wanted Fanta but too late – had bought the Max). If this seems like a Foodstuffs promo – I shop on price and have zero loyalty. I think Countdown had 2.25 litre on special.

Just bring out every fucking flavour in zero sugar. I want to try them all. I saw zero ginger beer – so tempting – yes !! Next time.

My new thing is home cooked potato chips. Bought a 575ml pack of steak sauce (dirt cheap 98c) as a dip. Ate the whole thing with the chips. Felt a bit bad about that but to laugh it off I thought – ‘what the fuck did you think was going to happen ?’ Bloody delicious (I don’t think I’ve touched steak sauce since the end of 2012). Today’s pain was leaving behind dated stock cheap pascall marshmallows 98c and pam’s bargain spanish olives. Roses chocs 225g $5. And the rest. That’s the downside . . . it’s a big one.

It’s funny – it’s the opposite of a fat person saying they’ll start dieting tomorrow or next week. I’m going to give up dieting tomorrow or next week – hahaha. Yeah right to both – hahahaha
