(their ‘live’ help advised that I need a medicare card if I wanted to travel AKL-CHC with my kids. And, i am not allowed to bring my three 5 to 11 year old children with me as they do not hold a drivers license or current passport).

Air NZ are just fine though. Although, they cost 200% more.

The arctic is not “growing” its still low by historical standards… the multi year ice has even increased this year but its not at its lowest for another five months…. then it will tell us something… as it melts the change week by week is more an indication of the last weeks weather than global warming…as you know from you hysterical posts last year when it was higher than average for a few days…

Antarctic extent is all over the place from year to year two years ago it was smaller than average its now significantly larger..its trend is statistical significant increase in extent over the satellite record but its very small .

The arctic shows a steady decline over the decades with a significant trend of loss in all seasons…

I’m one of those who firmly believe we are being deliberately setup for a global Muslim-Christian conflict and the bogus war on terror is a simple transparent propaganda meme for the sheeple who continue to act like gullible morons as they react hysterically to the latest media-manufactured “outrage,” just as they have been programmed to do.

Having said that you can’t have a global propaganda meme if the general issues its based on are palpably false and like all propaganda they use things in the Muslim faith that really do exist but where the propaganda comes in is they exaggerate both the extent of it and the seriousness of it as an issue.

As a student of human nature one thing I’ve observed is that its interesting how there are many aspect of the Muslim doctrine which closely dovetail with the cultural mindset of its adherents. Mostly in the ME but also in some elements of the Eastern Asian cultures you find quite strong elements of fanaticism in their cultural mindsets and with Islam itself being quite a strict doctrine (and possibly even having evolved that way because of the cultures in which it was founded), in some ways it creates a perfect storm of both culture and the religion when it is compared to that of the West which is by comparison much more laid back and relaxed, possibly too relaxed, in some ways.

Of course the people designing the propaganda campaign underpinning the ‘war on tewwor’ are well aware of this dichotomy and take advantage of it all the time, to draw comparisons between “us” and “them.” It would be helpful if the Western sheeple weren’t quite so self-righteous in their innate sense of their own “vast” “superiority” when it comes to civilised conduct but then if they did that they wouldn’t be called “sheeple,” would they.

But having said all of that, there are times when the Muslims could do themselves a giant favour and pull their fanatical heads in just a little bit, especially when they’re in Rome, and more especially, when they are living here under their choice and they haven’t been coerced into being here. I mean, if I go to their place, I act by their rules, the least we should be able to expect, is that they pay us the same courtesy and if they can’t see their way clear toward doing that, then fuck off.

But sadly, our politically correct Western society (yet another meme) has been taught over the last sixty or so years that when faced with such situations, we’re not allowed to adopt such attitudes, that’s wacist, or sexist, or some other “ist” or “ism” and appawently, that’s weally weally weally weally bad and we should be ashamed of ourselves for not wanting to rush out and cuddle the poor little oppwessed darlings. It’s a shame the sheeple don’t stand up against that meme as well, then we, as a society, might finally start making progress or at least, stop going backwards, as we have been, since the 1960’s when the baby boomer sheeple got sucked in to starting the whole PC psychobabble bullshit bandwagon in the name of human wights.

I used to have a ride-on mower with side delivery and at the first hint of rain the delivery shute would clog up with grass.
I later purchased a ride on with rear delivery and it would clog up as well but not quite so often.
Mowing a lawn in the rain is a no-brainer. Even those employed by city and borough councils to mow parks and the like avoid doing that if they can.
I use a handmower now and I still don’t mow the grass when it is wet as it just causes the grass to stick to the mower.

It’s the way of the civilian, Reid. The don’t have to face the unpleasant realities of the world and so they interpret their own lack of vigilance as a kind of moral superiority.

DIA refuses to release the full report. On the grounds doing so would further compromise the intelligence effort. Which is typical. But here’s the thing. Nothing Snowden has revealed has surprised me in anyway whatsoever. Sure I didn’t know it for sure, in terms of the intel techniques he’s revealed and in terms of the data he’s released. But I suspected all of it way before anyone even heard of Edward Snowden. And I’m an amateur who merely knows how to drive google, I have no background in intelligence I am merely a lifelong student of warfare in all its forms and I have read a lot of history and, unlike some, I remember what I’ve read. And there must be millions of others just like me around the world.

And you would have thought, that if you were a professional bad-guy in the international class, then you’d damn well make it your business to be right up with the play in all of the stuff and more that Snowden is revealing. That’s simply common sense. And newsflash: high-value intelligence targets, despite what movies and the media make out, are not repeat not morons who can’t wait to blow themselves up for Allah and seventy virgins. That’s the movie version, it doesn’t happen in real life. And if an amateur like me can familiarise myself with the details in my own spare time from little ole NZ, then high-value intel targets with all their networks and all their resources (from rich e.g. Saudi donors), sure as heck can do it ten times better than I can. So what’s the REAL compromise the agencies keep munting on about?

It’s the sheeple, of course. It’s letting the sheeple know that the intel agencies have been vacuuming up every single little thing for decades and that’s not just your personal data on when and where you use your eftpos card and every single phone call you make, it’s business plans, corporate IP, huge, massive vacuums across every single area of our modern life. You think for example Smartphones are useful? Why don’t you ask your ISP whether there are any locked closets at their network junction points that anonymous people occasionally visit after hours? And if your tinpot ISP laughs at the mere suggestion, then ask them which of the major corporate ISPs they connect to and go and ask them the same question. For example. That’s what they don’t want the sheeple to know.

Of course, it’s all fine, since we don’t commit any crimes and we don’t plan on committing any, do we. But that’s now. What happens in the future, if we say, enter a wartime situation because the US and China got into conflict? What would be the case about that stuff, then? And think about when we get smart appliances, smart thermostats and fridges etc. Think Goggle paid $2 billion for Nest just for fun? What do you think that’s going to be used for? Just selling ads? Think again. For example.

I’m not making a judgement call on it either way, all I’m saying is, the intel agencies have deployed this and will continue to deploy all of this with absolutely no discussion and absolutely no opportunity for debate. And since this is OUR society we’re talking about, not THEIR society, I would have thought that our worthless, toothless, moronic Fourth-Estate “watchdog” would have been much more onto this than they have been, had they really been working in OUR interests and not in THEIRS. But of course, that couldn’t possibli be, could it.

There is a good agreement between the rate of sea level rise (3.2 ± 0.4 mm·yr− 1) calculated from satellite altimetry and the rate of 3.1 ± 0.6 mm·yr− 1 from tide gauge based reconstruction for the overlapping time period (1993–2009). The new reconstruction suggests a linear trend of 1.9 ± 0.3 mm·yr− 1 during the 20th century, with 1.8 ± 0.5 mm·yr− 1 since 1970. Regional linear trends for 14 ocean basins since 1970 show the fastest sea level rise for the Antarctica (4.1 ± 0.8 mm·yr− 1) and Arctic (3.6 ± 0.3 mm·yr− 1). Choice of GIA correction is critical in the trends for the local and regional sea levels, introducing up to 8 mm·yr− 1 uncertainties for individual tide gauge records, up to 2 mm·yr− 1 for regional curves and up to 0.3–0.6 mm·yr− 1 in global sea level reconstruction. We calculate an acceleration of 0.02 ± 0.01 mm·yr− 2 in global sea level (1807–2009). In comparison the steric component of sea level shows an acceleration of 0.006 mm·yr− 2 and mass loss of glaciers accelerates at 0.003 mm·yr− 2 over 200 year

Your paper says that the trend was 1.8 year last century 1.7 from 1972 and is now 3.1 a year betwen 1993 to 2009 it also says the trend that has been accelerating at .02 a year between 1807–2009..

If you were living in Europe in the early to mid 1930’s, where would you be, I wonder. I’m a civilian UT. But I know what you mean.

On their lack of vigilance though I think it’s not so much that they are self-righteous but that they are ignorant and because they are ignorant they are complacent and the PTB prey on that complacency. Their ignorance is willful but they are not conscious that its willful. They are complacent that the govt is the whole answer to every little problem they have because its behaved that way in every Western nation since WWII dishing out welfare left, right and center and people thereby have conflated that behaviour with benevolence and this is why, for example, the US people by and large cannot look at the evil their govt perpetrates in their name.

And if you continue that willful ignorance for decades and generations as today’s generations in the West by and large have, you get a powerlessness creeping in which is very difficult to overcome just like losing weight is very difficult for an obese person. You also get a defensive reaction whenever that complacency is threatened which is what you and I and some others all see whenever we discuss those issues which disturb the view that our collective Western govts are benevolent and not malevolent creatures.

I have a few friends who are regular smokers of marijuana. A couple have been doing it every day for almost forty years or so. I do notice that when it’s wearing off they become very irritable and grumpy. Paranoid too. It affects their moods quite a lot…

It’s true. It does. Look at every single heavy smoker. That’s their problem. Sure, they might be floating through work but they’re not advancing. It’s only when they stop smoking that they start doing that. Otherwise, they just hold water, on their careers. Every. Single. One.

That’s the counseling key to stopping them, if they care about their career.
