Some weird stats from the Herald:

  • Most children – 69 to one mother - 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets. Her husband also had 18 children with his 2nd wife!
  • The longest pregnancy is 375 days. Ouch.
  • The heaviest baby was 10.8 kgs at birth – double ouch.
  • Lightest surviving baby was 260 grams
  • Yuck – youngest mother was five years old. She is alive today, aged 82. she had a second son 33 years after her first
  • Oldest mother – 69.
  • Most children in a single birth – eight to the Octomum.

Despite his recent weight loss, DPF beats that. :)

Probably the same way most women do it? ;-)

The thought that someone might think it OK to impregnate a five year old…makes Rolf Harris look like a saint…

    @ Huevon

So you are able to offer a stable loving home to all the children whose mother’s, for a variety of reasons are unable to go through with the pregnancy?

Or would you prefer a child be born into a home where it is neither loved nor cared for?

    @ 69 year old mother

Really, should this be on the list – its hardly a natural achievement?

    @ 5 year old mother.

There have been many documented cases of children this young going through puberty – obviously possible, however, in a socialised society, highly unlikely that the child is emotionally aware enough to cope with the experience. Having said that, it wasn’t that long ago that children didn’t have childhoods, like ours do today. From the time they could walk, and had the strength, they were expected to work to assist in the families survival. No such thing as kindergarten then – you learned by doing, not pretending.

    Boring.

I’d like to see the list of ugliest ones who conceived by natural means. That would be a conversation piece.

Yes it’s amazing how living in a theocracy seems to make people very messed up about sex.

But the ten-year-old mentally retarded Iranian girl sentenced to death for debauchery (after her mother pimped her to members of her own family) is the one I feel the most sorry for.

RRM, yes very sad. Notice the most over-represented group was South America. I wonder how many Indulgences they had to buy ?

That is great, but having seen the results of the other scenario, I can understand why some take that choice.

Of course if morality was different, the problem wouldn’t be as extreme. But I don’t expect that will change for a while yet.

The streets are awash with ugly women that have conceived naturally. Goes to show ugly women can always get laid. Not so ugly men.
