Israeli police official refutes claim that Hamas kidnapped Israeli teens

The recent explosion of violence in Gaza may have been initially sparked by false or inaccurate claims, according to Israeli police.

The ongoing conflict began last month when three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped from a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank. Their bodies were later discovered in a field outside the city of Hebron. Before police were able to determine who was responsible, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu placed blame for the tragic deaths squarely on Hamas, Gaza’s elected political leadership — an accusation that may prove to be false. ["Hamas is responsible, and Hamas will pay."]

On Friday, Chief Inspector Micky Rosenfeld, foreign press spokesman for the Israel Police, reportedly told BBC journalist Jon Donnison that the men responsible for murders were not acting on orders of Hamas leadership. Instead, he said, they are part of a “lone cell.” Further, Inspector Rosenfeld told Donnison that if Hamas’ leadership had ordered the kidnapping, “they’d have known about it in advance.”

This backs up Max Blumenthal’s summary of events.

From the moment three Israeli teens were reported missing last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the country’s military-intelligence apparatus suppressed the flow of information to the general public. Through a toxic blend of propaganda, subterfuge and incitement, they inflamed a precarious situation, manipulating Israelis into supporting their agenda until they made an utterly avoidable nightmare inevitable.

Israeli police, intelligence officials and Netanyahu knew within hours of the kidnapping and murder of the three teens that they had been killed. And they knew who the prime suspects were less than a day after the kidnapping was reported.

Rather than reveal these details to the public, Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency imposed a gag order on the national media, barring news outlets from reporting that the teens had almost certainly been killed, and forbidding them from revealing the identities of their suspected killers. The Shin Bet even lied to the parents of the kidnapped teens, deceiving them into believing their sons were alive.

Instead of mounting a limited action to capture the suspected perpetrators and retrieve the teens’ bodies, Netanyahu staged an aggressive international public relations campaign, demanding sympathy and outrage from world leaders, who were also given the impression that the missing teens were still alive.

Meanwhile, Israel’s armed forces rampaged throughout the occupied West Bank and bombarded the Gaza Strip in a campaign of collective punishment deceptively marketed to Israelis and the world as a rescue mission.

Good on Rodney for keeping this shocking case of name suppression in the public eye.

Hopefully it will pressure political leaders to answer a question most have refused to do and that is their position on permanent name suppression unless the victim requests it.

Sensible Sentencing Trust sent the parties a questionnaire where permanent name suppress was the first question. Only ACT and the Conservative have replied. Why is that?

Rodney Hide is in the NZH on about the name suppression issue yet again. I fail to see how the use of name suppression in sex cases in any way is indicative of what Rodney implies as our ‘rape culture’. If there is concern with the overuse of name suppression in such cases then that in itself is the issue. Lobby our politicians to reduce such instances. ‘Rape culture’ is a contrived beat-up pushed by the lesbian anti-male lesbian activists and it is disappointing to see Rodney buying into this crap.

Cunliffe has given contradictory versions. He can’t clarify or defend himself without risking breaching name suppression.

If “sexual predator” (as opposed to being a person admitting to one offence) is an unfair description the person themselves is in a difficult position in defending their reputation.

If Hide is right and this is a recidivist sexual predator then women are not properly warned about the potential risks this person may pose. That is the worst thing about this unsatisfactory name suppression.

Your entire premise is based on Israel’s looking for world sympathy for their three murdered teenagers. Why would they when most of the world don’t give a shit about Israeli lives. Bloody disgraceful.

Note: Israeli victims referred as teenagers but Palestinians are still ‘children’ until they turn eighteen. Bloody one sided media and all you pathetic jealous racist losers piss me off.

Nukuleka – what Hide is alluding to is there is a culture in New Zealand politics and the judiciary for protecting the “reputations” of prominent people while giving far too little weight to the need to inform and protect women from sexual predators.

Offenders are given far better protections than victims and potential victims. That has to change.

Quibbling about definitions and how responsible how many people are is a diversion from the most important aspects of the issue.

Protecting some men from taking offence at blanket “culture” insinuations is a very minor aspect of the issue.

Diverting from the main issue and trying to blame other people and groups for having agendas or whatever is part of the protection racket.

People are being protected from their sexual assault habits. That should be the focus.

    1. Don’t put weapons, rockets and explosives in private houses.
    2. Don’t put weapons, rockets and explosives in mosques.

  25. Judith (8,534 comments) says:

Name suppression for sexual offenders is not common unless the release of the offender’s name, also exposes the victim. The current case is rare.

There are many cases where name suppression is not granted, however, because the cases are of little value to the media, most do not even warrant a mention. A sad fact of modern society unfortunately. Years gone by every murder would dominate the front page, now many don’t even get more than a small mention, unless there is something spectacular about it.

Due to this, there are claims that a sexual offenders index is required. I agree – but think that such an index needs to be strictly controlled by officials rather than a private organisation, for many reasons.

First being the authenticity of information, which needs to be exact and directly from the Courts so there is no misinterpretation of details.

Secondly, because as the population grows, it is very likely that two people could have the same name, and therefore problems of wrong identity need to be closely monitored.

Also, such lists should not be accessible by minors, who do not have the maturity to process the information and act sensibly with it – some may even out of curiosity approach the offender.

There is also a need to ensure the person receiving the information is counselled on how to best deal with the situation. The last thing we need is vigilantes going on rampages, and ending up with a murder conviction or such. If a person finds their neighbour is a sex offender, what do they do? They cannot, if that person has served their sentence and no longer under parole restrictions, request the offender leave the area? So there is a need to have some strong guidelines for advice given.

The one big issue I have with sex offender indexes is they lull people into a false sense of security. A list is never complete, and for every offender that is caught, there are many that are not. As long as humans are sexual beings there will always be sexual deviants among us. An index is only an indication of some danger – the strongest and most efficient way of protecting yourself and your children, is making them aware – strong minded and secure children, seldom fall prey to paedophiles.

It’s a f***in war dude. People get really really medieval in war time, ask an old German how they view your beloved Maoris in combat. It’s a very complicated situation, both sides are getting really silly, but to quote that post the other day it’s also very simple. If Israel laid down its weapons and surrendered every last man jack of them would be slaughtered. Their foes even admit that that’s what they would do. If the stupid Palestinians surrendered and laid down its weapons… it’d be over.

The Israelis don’t give a shit about the U.N. and why would they, the organisation is essentially useless. How did they get on in Rwanda? No wonder people like Shearer and Clark do so well inside the U.N.
I reckon Israel will continue bludgeoning Palestine until they get it through their thick heads.

“Israelis gather on hillsides to watch and cheer as military drops bombs on Gaza”

And you know who is also cheering?

    Hamas.

Not only are they trying to kill as many Jews as they can, their heroic fighters (Sometimes dressed up as women to ambush soldiers) also engage Israeli soldiers from positions where there are women and children present.
They even order women and children in positions they know are going to be struck.
The more women and children that are killed the better.

    Why?

Because of the media and people like you Yoza.
The compliant MSM (Which is ‘wined and dined’ by Hamas) needs to be fed a constant stream of human suffering so people like you can feel morally superior by calling an end to Israel defending itself.
The media (And those feeding on it) propaganda machine keeps the conflict alive.

The simple way to stop all this within a day:

    1. Don’t fire rockets at Israel.
    2. Ban the media from Gaza.

We cannot and should not expect our politicians, public figures and so on to be anything other than law abiding citizens in such matters. A public figure breaking a court order, even in a case like this, where it is felt by some to be warranted, is not acceptable and would be in extremely poor form.

The basic problem with the stance against Israel taken by campit, Yoza, Minto and company is that you’d have to believe that they don’t make excuses for murderous assholes around the world and through recent history. But they do – as long as they can make a case for being on the same side as those people: they’re “oppressed” or fighting for “social justice” and a “classless society” or some other self-serving crap.

In short, Yoza and company are not arbiters of fairness, balance, decency, human rights or even anything approaching justice. They’re simply supporting the other side and will justify any crime that side commits while standing on their hind legs and braying about the “atrocities” their opponents commit – just like Goebbels or any communist you ever met.

It’s amazing that they never get this. It’s also amazing that they don’t seem to realise that that jig is up on this tactic. Increasingly in the West people are ignoring their bloodcurdling language and either cheering on the Yids or treating the whole thing as no different from any other Middle Eastern scrap, albeit with a real, liberal democracy on one side.

That goes even more so for Israelis, but that’s simply a natural result of being endlessly condemned as mass murdering baby killers. The effect wears off after a decade or two as they realise that they’re going to be condemned anyway and that there are plenty of actual mass murderers in the rest of the world that get away with it. I suppose there’s still the plea that Israel has to be “better than the other side”, but given the knee-jerk condemnation from many of the same people I don’t think that cuts any ice either.

We’ll have to see what happens in the next few days but I’m beginning to think that this time Israel is just going to shrug their shoulders, ignore the rest of the world and get on with destroying as much of Hamas as they can.

There is nothing more savage than a civilised white man.

Here’s another classic example. Yoza is so convinced that he himself is not a racist that he’s perfectly comfortable in making a racist accusation like that, that Jews are white people, something that would have come as a stunning surprise to most Jews and Europeans over the last few hundred years. And he makes that accusation after yapping about Semitic people.

Of course the reason he repeatedly indulges in this fatuous nonsense is that the Far left have to bring all their favourite bugaboos to the forefront: colonialism, Europeanism, and so forth, and apply it Israel. That’s necessary because all the associated ideas about those things must be maintained front and centre to maintain a semi-respectacle front of intellectual theorising about the causes of any conflict one cares to name.

It also pushes far, far into the background any hint that it’s simply about Jew hatred, either by Hamas and Arabic populations in general – or by their lickspittles in the West like Yoza.

Kosovo didn’t try to kill all Serbians

Palestinians will never be successful until they reject Hamas completely and states that Israel has a right to exist

Jeez, you gotta feel a bit of pity for the palestinians — they were showing the dead babies/children on the news yesterday.

I’m amazed that whenever Israel announces a ceasefire Hamas break that ceasefire. Hamas are absolute mongrels intent on destroying israel at all cost.

Although the palestinians as a group also have themselves to blame for harbouring hamas. The palestinians seem intent on purposefully setting themselves up as martyrs for the ‘good’ press they are getting.

…what Hide is alluding to is there is a culture in New Zealand politics and the judiciary for protecting the “reputations” of prominent people while giving far too little weight to the need to inform and protect women from sexual predators.

Offenders are given far better protections than victims and potential victims. That has to change. Quibbling about definitions and how responsible how many people are is a diversion from the most important aspects of the issue. Protecting some men from taking offence at blanket “culture” insinuations is a very minor aspect of the issue.

Pete I’ve often wondered if you’re a fool but now you’ve confirmed it by demonstrating you understand nothing whatsoever about politics. For what you’ve just said is claim that the very heart of the issue is in fact “a very minor aspect” but that is the very reason so many people react vehemently against the idiot claim – because, gah, they object to being tared with the same brush which in fact actually and even the allegors admit this, applies only *to* a tiny handful of people and is applied *by* a tiny handul of people. It’s the same – duh – as alleging NZ has a peodo culture because now and then a NZ’er gets arrested for that.

WTF is wrong with you? Why can’t you get that? It’s basic man.

Of course the lesbian feminist brigade desperately wish to portray NZ men as that and they’ll take any opportunity they can but do you not realise you fool, that this is a version of the ‘have you stopped beating your wife question?’

If you and Hide really are complaining about the politicians and judiciary, then DON’T CALL IT A CULTURE YOU F…..ING MORONS, CALL IT SOMETHING ELSE. Like an elitist attitude for example. Because that is what it is.

I just don’t understand why people would support a group with the goal of destroying another country.

Well you guys support Israel. What’s the difference? The only reason Iswael does not wipe out the entire population is not because it’s too kind to, it’s because world opinion would forever shift against it and it can’t afford to have that happen. Please note that when I refer to “Iswael” I’m not talking about every single Jew in the country I’m talking about the politicians and the officials who direct the policies. Now and then you get a leader like Shamir who looks like making a breakthrough on this front and what happens? He gets killed. And the politicians and the officials go right back to doing what they’ve been doing ever since Begin’s Stern Gang bombed the King David and killed all those British servicemen who were there to help Iswael get established, and who they elected as their PM soon afterward. It’s the tiny minority of people in Iswael who plan and carry out actions like that, who I’m referring to.

you don’t seem to understand that the palestinian supported hamas will lnot stop until Israel has been destroyed.

Yes but Iswael has 300+ nukes so it’s not going to be destroyed, is it. A few firecrackers fired into it does NOT constitute a threat to its national security. It constitutes an annoyance at a national level but it does not constitute a mortal threat. How many times does this extraordinarily basic fact have to be wheeled out to you guys before it finally sinks in to your thick skulls. I’ve been saying this for about ten years now, do I have to say it for another 10 before you finally get it?

It’s important because once you do acknowledge this basic reality then the question changes from being one of national survival (which you morons appear to think it is but it’s not for the above reason), to one of conflict management. And as soon as you make that the question at hand, you recognise Iswael’s continued tactics over the years as counter-productive. For this is merely the latest in a long string of exactly similar tactics used over the years and in each and every case nothing has changed so if you morons argue that it IS the right thing to do why then you’re running up against the definition of insanity, aren’t you.

But that doesn’t seem to stop you from repeating your braying whenever Iswael does it again. On this topic, you guys are as gallopingly mental as the Gweens are on oil exploration, only worse, because at least with the Gweens, the only important thing they’d destroy is the economy, whereas with your galloping mentalism, your position actually supports the unnecessary killing of real human beings and that’s worse than merely tragic, it’s actually wicked.

I realise you guys don’t see it like that, but that’s where the logic of your position leads you, and just because you don’t like it, does not mean that logic does not exist.

Fairfucked Media’s Sunday Star-Times today makes up for the pusillanimity of its sister publication, the Christchurch Press, over Australian claims that an Australian killed while with Islamicists in Yemen was radicalised at the Christchurch mosque.

The Christchurch Press response to the claim has largely been to print denials by mosque spokesmen and supportive multiculturalist puffery.

Here’s what the Sunday Star-Times says:

Jones was killed alongside Australian Christopher Havard, whose parents said he was introduced to radical Islam at the Al-Noor mosque in Christchurch.

Mosque leaders confirmed Havard stayed there and studied in 2011, but denied radical teaching took place. But a man who attended a converts’ weekend at the mosque 10 years ago said a visiting speaker from Indonesia talked about violent jihad and plenty shared his views. “Most of the men were angry with the moral weakness of New Zealand. I would say they were radical.”

The Sunday newspaper’s reporters dug, and found.

Is Rodney wrong and Cunliffe helpful in a default sort of way?

Rodney Hide’s item today states that he believes David Cunliffe did not know the person was an offender when he met what Hide refers to as a “sex predator”.
But it would appear Cunliffe did indeed know, when he [Cunliffe] arranged the Queenstown meeting –

Mr Cunliffe admits a prominent New Zealander’s possible sexual offending had been raised with him before he met with the man in Queenstown last week.
The Labour leader says the meeting went ahead because no proof had been supplied.
    – Barry Soper (Newstalk ZB)

Now, as a result of the Cunliffe meeting, a poll [ http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/2014/07/poll-well-name-suppression-work/ ] indicates 787 people now know the identity of the Man With No Name, against 354 who knew earlier – a 222% increase.
Extrapolate that as you may across the population

The Israelis have the power to do that. The Palestinians only have the power to show token resistance.”

    First a few facts…

The PLO was founded in 1964. This was 3 years BEFORE Israel ‘occupied’ the West Bank and Gaza.
The PLO was not to liberate Palestine. It called for the destruction of the Zionist state and for the establishment of a “Palestinian entity”. Syria and Jordan DID NOT WANT a Palestinian state.
When it was founded, the PLO did NOT want the West Bank which was part of Jordan, or the Gaza Strip which was part of Egypt…
The PLO was founded in 1964 as an initiative of Arab states and was initially headed by Ahmed Shokairy. He was born in Lebanon to an Arab father, a Turkish mother and became a member of the Syrian delegation to the United Nations. Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, was an Egyptian, born in Cairo in 1929.

    And Scott Chris…..

If the “occupation” of the West Bank and Gaza by Israel is the obstacle to peace, as has been endlessly proclaimed by Arafat and others, what was the motivation to create the PLO to strike at Israel at a time when Israel had no role in those territories? Why did the PLO and other Arab terrorist groups continually attack Israel at that time?

Meanwhile how’s this for roaring mentalism:

A brochure telling senior citizens they can walk or catch the bus when they’re no longer able to drive has been slammed as patronising and a waste of public money.

The glossy “No car? No problem!” leaflet from the Office for Senior Citizens suggests using taxis, getting lifts from family and friends, using a mobility scooter or moving to a more handy address.

The brochure, which was first printed in 2005 with an updated version this year, has cost about $37,000, excluding staff time.

Taxpayers Union executive director Jordan Williams said the money could have been better used.

“Our seniors weren’t born yesterday – spending taxpayers’ money to produce patronising brochures explaining to them the existence of taxis and public transport is insulting…”

…Office for Senior Citizens director Sarah Clark said it provided information some people may not have considered.

“We’re making sure our older people have what they need to plan ahead and get around, and avoid social isolation,” she said.

As those of us who work in corporates know, this would have had to pass through many hands on its way to being produced and multiple managers would have had to approve the concept, assign staff to write it and edit it before approving it for production then it would have to be distributed round the branches and this whole process would have happened not once but twice because they “updated it” since the original production.

And not once, apparently, did any of those managers ever say: hang on?

And then, when their galloping mentalism is discovered and exposed, they defend it?

I think the whole libertarian socialist thing is just a front for what is simply your standard boiler-suit-wearing, 9mm-to-the-back-of-the-head-communist.

And he’s not sticking up for the underdog, he’s just supporting yet another group he can find that will help him in his quixotic mission to bring down capitalism. It’s like the folks in the American Civil Rights campaigns, who at first thought the communists were truly anti-racist and anti-segregation. Today only a few, sad remnants like the utterly insane Harry Belafonte still believe that: the rest of the movement slowly realised that they were just tools to the communists and as easily discarded when necessary. So it will be with the Palestinians. The term “bad faith” does not even begin to cover this.

I will say this – I’m reading this book right now, and I recommend it to everybody.
The story of the son of a Hamas founder who realised his groups ideology had turned nasty, so he started working for the Israelis. He saved many, many lives by giving information on upcoming Suicide Bombings. Of course that means arresting people pre-emptively (HOOOOOOMAN RAAAAAIGHTS!!!!)

Excellent. You know Tim, it’s interesting that on this issue, many people conflate being against Israel with being for terrorism. I find that an unusually powerful conflation, other issues don’t have it to the same degree. Just one of the interesting social aspects of this.

    Bzzzzzzzt.

No I’ve never studied sociology and I’ve never wished I had, either.

IMO you are a dumb, self interested fool.

IMO, YOU are a dumb, wicked fool.

As are all the other people who support Iswael in doing what she’s doing now and whose ever supported Iswael in any of the similar actions she’s undertaken since she was founded seventy years ago.

In fact, you’re not only fools, you’re also morons. This is because you’re all actually supporting the people who are destroying Israel. You can’t see that because you’re morons, but that’s exactly what you’re all doing.

What Israel is doing now and what she has always done with the Palestinians, is NOT in her best national interests. You morons think that she is forced to do it and she has no choice, but that’s because you’re all morons. This is precisely what my 10.29 was about, and note that not one of you morons has disputed any of the logic in that. Not one of you. That’s because it’s indisputable. It’s self-evident, what I said in that comment. Everyone knows it and it’s completely elementary.

And that, you moron, gives the lie to your completely mental position on this. Fact is, Iswael is NOT forced to do this in self-defence. She never has been and she never was. Complaining about a few firecrackers being lobbed over and how tewwible that would be to live under such conditions, DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN ARGUMENT AGAINST THE LOGIC IN MY 10.29.

But you morons refuse to understand this simple self-evident reality. You can’t see it. Not because it’s not there, but simply because you don’t want to see it.

And that’s not logic my friend, that’s cognitive dissonance. On a massive scale.

And reality is, this issue is simple to solve, it really is elementary. But it never will be solved unless and until all you millions if not billions of cognitive dissonance sufferers penetrate the veil and see it for what it really is.

But you’re not about to do that, are you. Because if you did you’d see yourselves for the utter morons you really are, on this issue. And no-one is about to do that, to themselves. Are they.

One of things about this cognitive dissonance, is it confuses your thinking. This is why you morons can’t see the actual and real distinction between being against Israel on this issue and not being for the terrorists. You morons don’t see any distinction. There is, in fact, a huge distinction, a million miles high writ large in flaming letters, but you don’t see any distinction at all, do you. In your tiny fevered minds, why if someone doesn’t support poor widdle embattled Iswael on this, why that therefore cogito ergo sum automatically and irrefutably and indubitably means such a person is – gasp – IN FAVOUR OF THE BIG BAD MEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Doesn’t it.

That’s exactly what you morons hallucinate.

    Isn’t it.

It’s impossible for it to be otherwise, in your tiny fevered minds, isn’t it.

That fact alone should give anyone with even one brain cell pause for thought: hang on – what”s going here – they should be asking themselves.

But no. They don’t bother doing that. Their powers of introspection are subverted by the cognitive dissonance raging in their minds and even thinking that particular facet through using cold logic makes sweat break out on their brow and a pain grows in their tummy as the emotion kicks in and their brain screams STOP – DON’T GO THERE, YOU DON’T WANT TO GO THERE, STOP IT, STOP NOW.

    Doesn’t it.

Thus it continues, year after year, decade after decade, Iswael does the same old thing, time after time, and inevitably, time after time, runs up against the definition of insanity time and time and time again (doing the same thing and expecting a different result). And the same old cheerleaders stand by and clap and cheer as more and more human beings are killed and maimed and more and more people are driven into the very camp that the Israeli leadership proclaims once again to the clapping and cheering useful idiots, they wish to destroy.

So freemark, in my view, on this particular issue and on no other, you and others who think like you, on this issue, are all not only dumb and self-interested, but you’re also wicked, because what else do you call supporting state-sponsored murder?

Oh, and for the record. You are well aware that I have never sent an email to any of your kids, I would not know who the hell they are for a start off. Nor would I bother taking the time to create an alternative D4J persona, the closest I ever got to something like that was chatting with Dime one night when Dime suggested that he might change his screen name to Dime4justice.

    Does it really matter? Honestly?

It looks to me, from an onlookers point of view, that maybe someone else has been shit stirring here and sent emails pretending to be from either of you – its easily done, and there are some weird people on the internet.

You’re both intelligent guys and I enjoy your posts, even though you disagree with me. Obviously you are upset, there is nothing worse than being accused of things you haven’t done, especially if it involves kids. Of course you’re angry and want to clear your name/s. But even if emails could be produced, there is no guarantee that the person whose name on them, is the person that sent them.

I think you’ve both been played – agree to disagree, forget the principles, they are over-rated, and this is just a blog, who cares what others think – most of them have got weird names anyway! How about just forgetting it and deciding its a situation that no one can win?

    http://news.antiwar.com/2014/07/25/un-israel-never-informed-us-of-plans-to-attack-gaza-school/

Israel’s narrative on yesterday’s attack on a UN school full of refugees in the Gaza town of Beit Hanoun has revised again today, with Israel now claiming they informed the UN of the plan to attack the school hours in advance, and told them to remove the refugees before then.

The UN is disputing that, saying that no warning at all was given, and further complaining that when experts visited the site today to inspect the damage, they too were attacked.

The claim of a warning is puzzling, because for hours the Israeli military denied having attacked the school at all, speculating that Hamas had somehow one it themselves. The story just kept changing.

    WOMAN’S DIARY:
    Saturday 20th October

Saw him in the evening and he was acting really strangely. I had been shopping in the afternoon with the girls and I did turn up a bit late so thought it might be that.
The bar was really crowded and loud so I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very subdued and distracted so I suggested we go somewhere nice to eat.

All through dinner he just didn’t seem himself; he hardly laughed and didn’t seem to be paying any attention to me or to what I was saying. I just knew that something was wrong.
He dropped me back home and I wondered if he was going to come in; he hesitated but followed.

I asked him again if there was something the matter but he just half shook his head and turned the television on.

After about 10 minutes of silence, I said I was going upstairs to bed.

I put my arms around him and told him that I loved him deeply. He just gave a sigh and a sad sort of smile. He didn’t follow me up but later he did, and I was surprised when we made love.
He still seemed distant and a bit cold, and I started to think that he was going to leave me and that he had found someone else.
    I cried myself to sleep.

Question. Is there something wrong here ?

This is an extract from the maiden speech Jan Logie gave to the NZ Parliament.

(Jan is a Green, lesbian, activist and the advocate for ‘Tarn’ Billingsley, the accuser of the Malaysian diplomat.)

She is talking about the 80s

“During this time my friends were dealing with racism on a daily basis, as friends still are now.

UNRWA has just admitted that it is highly likely that the explosive that hit a Gaza school was from a misfired Hamas rocket.

    http://dissenter.firedoglake.com/2014/07/25/us-media-outlets-cite-israeli-military-propaganda-cast-doubt-on-whether-israel-bombed-un-run-school/

…Although missiles belonging to Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups in Gaza do sometimes fall short, there was no visible evidence of debris from broken Palestinian rockets in the school. The injuries and the number of fatalities were consistent with a powerful explosion that sent shrapnel tearing through the air, in some cases causing traumatic amputations.

The surrounding neighborhood bore evidence of multiple Israeli attacks, including smoke from numerous artillery rounds and air strikes. One building was entirely engulfed by flames…

The Independent (left wing UK paper) has a great article about how the west is actually to blame for what is happening in Gaza at the moment.

When Israel pulled out or Gaza in 2005 it was a test case to see if Palestinians could live in peace with Israel and if this panned out then West Bank was looking more favourable.

Instead Hamas came to power and the UN and west just sat back and slapped them with wet bus tickets. The West Bank is so close to the major population centres of Israel would they ever risk a full withdrawal?

I wonder how Ugly Truth deals with the quandary of Hamas aligning itself with Sunni Rebel factions in Syria and in turn ISIS, also Sunni, who are now directing it’s attention again to taking on Assad.
BTW it’s wrong to say Palestinians are descended from Jews but rather both share along with Arabic people’s living in Lebanon and Syria a common Semitic heritage.
Something the Palestinians and their naive supporters in the West strongly deny.

The scene is a domestic kitchen, from which choking sobs and sniffles can be heard. Mother enters:

Mother: Oh Deano sweetie, what’s the matter?

Deano: (sniff). I told the Goldberg twins (sob) that they were Mass Murdering Baby Killers

Mother: Oh no. Did they hit you?

Deano: (howling) NOOOOO! (sob) Worse (gulping back tears) They said I had no moral standing to call anybody that after the Cambodia incident. They laughed at me (sobs, chokes)

    Mother: The Cambodia incident?

Deano: You know! When I said that Mr Pot would be a great leader of Cambodia ‘cause he was educated in Paris by Marxists and was real smart and everything and wanted justice for everybody (fresh bursts of tears)

Mother: Oh yes, I remember now. But I think we’ll just have to chuck that down Mr Memory Hole won’t we?

Deano: I tried but then I said it was ‘cause all that Unjustified Bombing drove him and his people insane – and then Shirley screamed at me and hit me (HOWWLLLLLLL)

Mother: She hit you? Why would she hit you over that

Deano: She said there was no way that listening to Justin Bieber would drive people into a homicidal rage.

Mother: Well I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree with Shirley about that!. Now is there anything I can do to cheer you up

Deano: I want you to make them shut up and go away forever and ever and ever.

Mother: Oh dear. I don’t think I can. David won’t let that happen.

Deano: The David who owns the 22 semi-automatic with the silencer? I’ll bet he could

Mother:No dear, the David who owns this place. Now look, I know this has not been very nice for you but I do know that little boy from next door would like to play with you. Reido is it?

Deano: (sniff) I guess. He’s a bit strange though. He’s always telling me about this dream where he’s falling through the sky illuminated by rivers of molten metal and other people are flying past him waving their passports and copies of Vogue magazine filled with pictures of little girls and weird symbols and saying they didn’t do it.

Mother: Well that doesn’t sound so strange

Deano: He said the dream ends with a huge explosion and he lands on the ground and wakes up back in reality.
He hates that part. He says it makes his tummy hurt.

At this moment there is a loud knocking at the door. Mother gets up to answer and finds a little boy at the door. He rushes in.

Reido: Hi Deano! Guess what. I’ve discovered where Satan is living.

    Mother raises her eyebrows!

Deano: Wow. Can we go see?

Reido: Absolutely! Uncle Achmed says he knows too and we can play a game with him called Target Satan and Hide The Rocket

Deano and Reido run from the kitchen.

Deano: Oh Boy. This’ll be a blast!

Shawn I am not “unhinged” just sick and tired of an anonymous blogger making malicious accusations without foundations. I thought offering to put up a huge cash wager to expose lies was a normal thing to do. What more can I do to try and stop malicious lies being made on a public forum. I am a reasonable man who detests false allegations. Everything I have said about my problems with bb are true. I just want his lies to stop. I gave up on this blog for two years to see if his attitude might change, but no it just the same.

Hey guess what the Israeli govt’s media guide calls you guys who think state-sponsored murder is A-OK? Persuadables. That’s right. You’re “persuadable.” Personally I think useful idiot is a better description, but there we go. I guess official publications aren’t allowed to be pejorative, but when you’re talking about people who support state-sponsored murder, personally, I don’t care to be particularly polite.

…In a sentence in bold type, underlined and with capitalisation, Dr Luntz says that Israeli spokesmen or political leaders must never, ever justify “the deliberate slaughter of innocent women and children” and they must aggressively challenge those who accuse Israel of such a crime.

On every occasion, the presentation of events by Israeli spokesmen is geared to giving Americans and Europeans the impression that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians and is prepared to compromise to achieve this, when all the evidence is that it does not. Though it was not intended as such, few more revealing studies have been written about modern Israel in times of war and peace.

BTW If the IDF fires on a UN school filled with women and children seeking refuge despite being forewarned about their presence then that is targeting children.

gulag1917 – “Israel should try different approaches, its long term survival would be better.”
    What do you suggest.

A more self reliant and less dependence on the US military, aid and economy. Israel will then be seen not to be a symbol of Western imperialism by Arabs. Israel is quite capable of being more self reliant. One nuclear bomb and continuous guerrilla war could be the end of Israel without some strategic change.
