Classic. Wait for the outburst from the left trying to boycott this weekends all blacks game in response
Carter wasn’t named in the latest All Black lineup due to injury, I would be surprised if he makes the All Blacks again with the injuries he’s carrying and the competition for that first-five position.
You’d think advisors to a far left party (particularly given rugby hating John Minto is one of their big noises), would realize an All Black is unlikely to be in their wheelhouse. It’s why social media can be deadly to politicos who are not savvy and careful. Whaleoil calls them SMOGs (Social Media Own Goals). For a supposedly new media savvy party, this was a doubly stupid SMOG.
Top bloke that DC. Spent half his youth with a footy in his hands and the other half in the cricket nets happy to bowl at grumpy old blokes 20 years his senior all afternoon long. At 13 or 14 polite, determined and striving for excellence, having fun with his mates of what ever age, no fancy academy’s, no bullshit. For this cricket tragic the knowledge that he would become what he has was evident before he hit his teens, he could have been just as good with a bat and ball.
How so HJ?
Until he established himself as a professional footy player he was a typical small town country kid who has lived his dreams and fulfilled his promise. How different is that to someone as equally gifted and determined getting an education and or building a high flying career in whatever? Are we in such a place now that aspiration and achievement are now seen as atypical?
